All the cars available as rental cars in World Circuits (Quick Race, Time Trial, Drift Trial and Custom Race only) and Split-Screen Race.

My dream update:

  • 5-8 cars per month (including race cars, hypercars, old classics, realistic concept cars)
  • new circuit (3-4 per year)
  • even more engine swaps including multiple swaps for a car
  • fix the roulette system
  • better payouts
  • 1 hour races with good payout

Okay, for more clarity and detail:

Around 10-15 cars per monthly update. (Time for Polyphony to give no quarter with updates.)
Occasional new tracks every now and then. (Not guaranteed every month.)
Usual engine swaps, race events and Scapes in between, and potentially more default livery variations to new and existing race cars.

But here are the features I would really like to see for one particular update:

  • All cars will be available as rental cars in World Circuits and Split-Screen Race.
However, they will only be available in Quick Race, Time Trial, Drift Trial and Custom Race under the World Circuits mode. You cannot use them in career events, and you will be prompted to return back to your currently-selected car from your garage once you attempt to enter a career mode event or exit World Circuits.

Same restrictions still apply, such as the following:
  1. Players can only select manufacturer-specific colors and livery variations for these particular cars.
  2. Tuning is only possible based on the car's default setup, with whatever parameters are available. Players can freely choose the tire compound, though.
  3. Daily Workout progress will not be earned while driving a rental car.
  • Used Cars and Legend Cars will receive a significant overhaul.
Used Cars will be renamed to "Retro Cars".

Both the Used and Legend dealers will only feature cars unique to them.

On both Legend Cars and Retro Cars, all cars are available on offer, similar to Brand Central, with options to buy them brand new and on demand (with the ability to select the color/livery variation), or to purchase a pre-determined selection of used variations for a lower resale value.
  • Invitations are removed from Brand Central entirely.

My Dream Update? It would definitely be labeled as 3.0.

Playing Experience :
  • "GT Mode" has been added to the Main Menu. Licence Tests A, B, IA, IB and S can be required as you progress in this mode.
  • "GT League" has been added to GT Mode.
  • "Endurance" has been added to GT Mode (features a B-Spec Mode).
  • "Hill Climb" has been added to GT Mode.
  • "Rallye" has been added to GT Mode.
  • Added "Onemake Races" at Brand Central.

Setup :
  • VGT are now located into their own section in the main menu, "Vision Gran Turismo", like in GT6. Sketches and videos can be viewed from there.
  • Fantasy Race Cars and Road Cars made by Polyphony Digital are now obtainable from GT Auto, using the "Race Modification" option on your actual car (allowed cars are tagged as #Upgradable). The price may vary depending on the car and the requested modification.
  • "Museum" as been added to the Main Menu, replacing museum sections at Brand Central. Brands like TVR, Pontiac or De Tomaso can now have their own Museum section. "Museum" features a brand new "Track Museum" section.

QOL / improvements :
  • All HUD items can be turned "on" or "off" individually from the pause screen or options.
  • Brand logos are now displayed by default when the HUD shows the cars, instead of flags.
  • The opponent list in race can be displayed as a banner.
  • The full opponent list, rankings and stats can be viewed when pausing the race.
  • Improved chase view options.
  • Improved Cockpit view options.
  • Car sound provenance can now be set independently from the selected view.
  • "Boost Off" in custom races now works as designed.
  • Liveries can now be chosen as you set a grid into Custom Race mode.
  • The player can now change its name and flag in Custom Race mode.
  • Many flags has been added for various countries in Custom Race mode.
  • A championship option has been added for Custom Race mode.
  • The race can be saved when entering a pit lane.
  • The championship progress can be saved between two races.

For me, an ideal update would consist of:
  • 6-10 cars, with the focus on filling in "missing" cars. For example, adding the other DTM cars used in the 2019 season to go with the Audi RS5 DTM.
  • ~10 new events, primarily longer in length (20 minutes and up).
  • 1 new circuit with full weather and time of day.
  • One new large feature coupled with a few small QoL features.
  • Expansion of Sophy system to allow for more tracks and be less restrictive.

[QoL]
  • Tuned cars are now available for all "Road Car" events. Also Korean cars will be available for all Asian events.
  • Add assist of visualize track limits.
  • Readjusted chase view (close range). This fix cameras that are too low like the Fiat 500 or VW Bus, or too far away like the Dodge Challenger R/T.
[Cars]
  • The return of an iconic model from past GTs. Examples: 1997 Dodge Copperhead, 1996 TVR Cerbera Speed 6, 1996 Mazda Demio, 1995 Nismo GT-R LM, 2001 Nissan GRAN TURISMO SKYLINE GT-R (PaceCar)
  • Add more Gr.4/Gr.3/Gr.B variants. This allows players to enjoy more race car versions of their favorite cars.
  • Add "fantasy" stock cars for each brand based on the 2024 NASCAR season for Chevy/Ford/Toyota (*this is to avoid NASCAR licensing issues). And for Dodge, which does not currently compete in NASCAR, add a fictional Charger stock car based on the Charger Hellcat.
[Customization]
  • Add numerous aftermarket and fantasy rims. Especially need more rally/classic racing style rims.
  • Add appropriate engine swaps to many underpowered classics such as the Toyota Sports 800, Autobianchi A112, and many others.
  • Add these parts to cars where front and rear spoiler options are not available. And add a duck-tail style custom wing for a for classic cars.
  • Weight Reduction Stage 4/5/6 upgrades now available on all cars.
  • Tire width upgrade.
[Tracks]
[Livery Editor]
  • Add two filters to search: "Search by title" and "Search by tag".
  • Add the feature to search for non-shared private decals. This will make it easier for players who have uploaded a large number of decals to access the ones they need.
  • For cars whose "Body 2" includes areas other than the hood, it is now possible to select the same camera for Body 2 as for Body 1.
  • Show decal coordinates.
  • Changed so that carbon color can be used in some parts. This makes it easier to create combinations like a metallic body and carbon hood.
[Others]
  • The AI will be more aware of the player's car and will take actions to avoid contact with the player. In other words, there will no longer be a "Shinigami" AI that tries to hit a player's car against a wall.
Simple summary: Let's wait for GT8:lol:

Approximately 40% of all posts in this thread have been removed or edited to fit the example you were all given, because some of you just can't keep your content wishlists in your pants even though we gave you a thread in which to wave them about.

We have a car and track wishlist thread. It is here:

If you're selecting specific cars and tracks, DO IT IN THE CAR AND TRACK WISHLIST THREAD, not this one.

Here is the example you were given:

Here’s what I think a good update should entail:
  • 3-5 new cars (Max. 1-2 returning)
  • 1 new track (Or a remake of a classic GT track, e.g. High Speed Ring)
  • At least three new events, one of which has a completion reward of 100,000cr or more
  • One new feature
And this is the example that it took inspiration from.
AR12
What's your perfect FH5 Update?
1. Theme
2. Festival Playlist Cars
3. Stadium Makeover
4. Small Feature
5. Car Pack
See how no specific content is named (save one as a reference)? This is what you need to do in this thread. Here, I'll do one:

Typical GT7 Update

  • Three new cars
  • No new tracks
  • Three new races
  • One new Extra Menu Book
  • Five new engine swaps
  • One new Scapes set/curation

My Ideal GT7 Update
  • Four new cars (minimum one race car, one road car), with any Vision GT car being additive
  • One new track layout (eg Le Mans/Bugatti, Suzuka/West, Tsukuba/MotoGP) or track location (eg Motegi, Sugo) - every third update
  • New Circuit Experiences both with any new circuit content and filling in existing track variations without a CE (eg Catalunya/RX, Nurburgring/Sprint, Daytona/Tri-Oval)
  • Six+ new races, at least three of which are a new event (eg Premium Sports Lounge) and associated Cafe Menu, and at least one of which offers 1m/hr earning potential; each new car should be eligible for at least one of the new races.
  • One new Extra Menu Book
  • Ten new engine swaps (currently only one quarter of cars have a swap after two years, although that includes Gr.3/Gr.2/Gr.1/VGT cars which probably shouldn't be swapped), including 2-3 new swaps for cars that already have one.
  • One new Scapes set/curation (preferably in Yorkshire  )
  • GT Sophy event support for one additional circuit that does not currently support it
  • One new set of Missions - every third update, offset with new tracks to smooth out the content peaks and troughs
  • One unique QOL change/feature per update, including:
    • Enhanced PSVR2 support (HUD)
    • Invitation system change (either the things we talk about in the article or a new Five-Star (Invitation) Ticket)
    • Raise Collector Level cap to 100
    • New unique paints and wheel options
    • Allow application of carbon fibre (and a new forged carbon option) to individual body areas rather than the whole car
    • Negative mask option in Livery Editor (allowing shapes to be cut out rather than only added)
    • Daily Marathon completion credit multiplier bonus (completing two successive DMs increases game-wide credit multiplier to 1.2x, three is 1.4x, up to a maximum 2.0x for five successive logins; missing a day decreases the bonus by two steps)
    • Unlock all cars for use in Arcade Mode/Scapes/Livery Editor without purchase
    • Introduction of separate "championships" section, including existing championships and adding new events every two or three updates
  • Various other issues have been addressed

My dream update would be like this:
  1. Five to seven new cars per update (at least one returning car and at least one racing car, can be both).
  2. At least one new track per update. Returning ones from say GT4 are fine.
  3. One new scapes location per update.
  4. Lots and lots of new events in World Circuits per update, at least one or two being endurance races with big payout.
Especially cars and events are very important for Gran Turismo 7, as there are very few events that give big money, and racing cars are generally very few in numbers, especially in Group 2.

Inspired by AR12’s latest video where he talked about his dream update for Forza Horizon 5 (), I wanted to know: What would you guys choose for your dream GT7 update?
Here’s what I think a good update should entail:
  • 3-5 new cars (Max. 1-2 returning)
  • 1 new track (Or a remake of a classic GT track, e.g. High Speed Ring)
  • At least three new events, one of which has a completion reward of 100,000cr or more
  • One new feature
I’m excited to see what you guys think would make the perfect GT7 update

Players choose starting position. Players choose PP limits. Players choose tyre. Players choose AI even if there's only two types of AI. Players choose to start from standstill.

If its monthly updates:

3 cars; 2 normal, 1 race car/vgt
1 track every 4 months

A QOL component
BoP adjustments

Quarterly review and adjustment of Wheel and Controller SDK’s.

The shutterbug and engine swap release schedule seems pretty ok. Probably just keep with that cadence.

My dream update is a bit "particular" and most importantly "revolutionary" in the sense that it finally starts seeing a theme for updates. I think that the way I conceived it also provides a reasonable business model. I think that @Strax might like this

Update 1.51 "Torino la Città dell'Automobile" released:

Basically my idea comes from the fact that single player inevitably becomes stale after a while and I am prettyb sure that we would feel the same even with a Career Mode similar to that of GT4, simply because of how DLCs have changed the way we play.
As I love playing Europa Universalis 4, what I love about the game is how replayable it is, even in single player, and how every update brings new flavour to the game via reworking of some nations "mission tree". (Below I paste Venice mission tree reworked in the latest update of EU4)

1717924668654.png

In my opinion, releasing a new "mission tree" with every update would be beneficial to the game, by increasing content every month in a new and permanent way, linked to the content of the update.
In this case, the "mission tree" for this update would look like this:

Mission 1: Turin the city of automotive.

Take a picture of a Fiat or a Lancia in the scapes location of the Lingotto.
Reward: Fiat 500F; unlock the "Lingotto rooftop Oval Test track".

Mission 2: Over the (roof)top.
This mission is a proper event, available from the map, so replayable as any normal race (unlike Human Comedy). 5 laps of the Oval in a one-make for 500F, simple as that. Bronze-Gold rewards are one-time, while credits prize for the position in the race are repeatable.
Reward: Bronze (finish 3rd or above) unlock the Lingotto exit ramp touge track. Gold (win the race) win a 1970 Abarth 595 Esseesse swapped with K20

Mission 3: Round and round we go.
This mission is a drift event on Abarth 595 esseesse, similar to those present in the actual Missions of GT7. The track is the helicoidal Exit Ramp of the Lingotto (former Fiat factory, now a shopping center and university) running down from the track to the ground floor. According to the amount of drift points, gain bronze, silver or gold as usual (in this case rewards are one-off)
Reward: Bronze complete the mission and unlock the next one, some credits too. Silver win a 1991 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione (currently available in UCD). Gold win a 1991 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione swapped with VR38DETT
1717925759934.png

Mission 4: Una gita al Lago
Adds a replayable one-make event at Lago Maggiore, 15 laps with tyre wear and fuel consumption, restricted to Lancia Delta road cars on Sports tyres, with the AI also using tuning and a couple even using swapped Deltas. Rewards are one-off, while credits are repeatable.
Reward: Bronze (finish 3rd or above) unlock the Museo Fondazione Gino Macaluso scapes. Gold for the next 15 days, you will gain double payout for any race won in a Lancia vehicle (only on first completion).

Mission 5: Visit at the Museum
The Museo Fondazione Gino Macaluso is a heaven for rally (and not only) car enthusiasts and I've had the luck to visit it with Politecnico. Several Deltas, a 037, a Lancia LC2, I think even a Corolla rally car, but also a Ligier Formula 1 are present there. While I was touring it I was as amazed as a kid in a candy shop...
Take 4 scapes photos of Lancia and/or Fiat cars in this location.
Reward: unlock Circuito del Valentino, unlock Mission 6 and Mission 7. Gain a Hagerty ticket for a 20% discount redeemable on purchase of an Italian car of your choice at LCD

Mission 6: Gran Premio
During the 1940s a GP was held at Parco del Valentino and, to this day, the starting place of Ascari is still marked on the road in front of Valentino Castle and immortalized by a plaque. So I always wondered whether this could be feasible in GT as well...
Adds a replayable event at Circuito del Valentino, 30 laps with tyre wear and fuel consumption, restricted to race cars from before 1965 with limit to 580 PP
  • Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W194) Coupé '52
  • Aston Martin DB3S '53
  • Jaguar D-Type '54
  • Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder '54
  • Porsche Spyder type 550/1500RS '55
  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Racer Concept '59
  • Ferrari 250 GTO '62
  • Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe '64
  • Porsche Carrera GTS (904) '64
  • Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO '65
  • Honda RA272 '65

You can rent a car for the race or use your own. Money rewards are repeatable, other rewards are one-off

Reward: Bronze (finish 3rd or above) Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder '54. Gold win 2 random cars from the above list.

Mission 7: Gran Premio
A 50 laps race on the Oval Test track, one-make for 1980 Fiat Panda (you can rent or use yours that you tuned), race is repeatable, rewards are one-off

Reward: Bronze (finish 3rd or above) Unlock the Sestriere Snow Touge track. Gold win a Fiat Panda 100hp.

Mission 8: Come una valanga
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Jamaican Winter Olympics Fiat commercial (), a time test on the Sestriere Snow Touge Track.

Reward: Bronze unlock Mission 9. Gold win a random Gr. B car.

Mission 9: World Rally Legend
A race with fuel consumption for Gr. B cars on Lake Louise to celebrate Lancia Delta's 5 WC.
Reward for getting Gold in all 9 missions: win a 1988 Lancia Delta HF Integrale (Gr. B)

I say a sustainable business model, because the Delta will not available in the LCD for the first month, but only as a prize for this mission tree. Or you can unlock it for 5€, buying a copy immediately and adding it permanently to the Hagerty dealership (so you effectively remove it from the rotation for your account having it available for purchase everyday. I think a lot of players would be interested in this purchase and at the same time it would not draw the uproar caused by the Bvlgari or the Corolla being unavailable for two months, as effectively anyone could get it immediately.

Plus, since GT is being used as an advertising platform, companies could release such "mission trees" as part of advertising campaigns. Hyundai is seeking collaboration with PD? Why not do so by releasing their own "mission tree" Plus, in future updates you can expand the treewith additional missions, such as add three/four missions from Mission 9 of this tre related to Turin when the 037 gets added.

Another set of missions could be centered around Senna's legend and finish with the McLaren Senna as a reward for getting all golds, with the car added to the Brand Central one month later.

If you made it this far through my fever dream, thank you, I wait for your feedbacks!

I'll put it simply: my dream GT7 update would be to have every single content brought back. Literally everything that has appeared in the past games, excluding the obvious duplicated cars and some outdated stuff. A Gran Turismo with little to no content lost over time is my ultimate wet dream for the perfect GT experience.

That's why I keep praising GT2's car and track lists, they fascinate me even to this day, and having them back is really something I think about for a long time now.

Then, regular monthly updates to add new-to-the-series cars, tracks and features would be the icing on the cake.

It seems PD are kind of doing that with the cars being added. Less of the official race cars and more of letting players use the Livery Editor and building cars. If all they have to worry about are the car licensing, there’s less decal licensing to deal with.
Plus, if PD are still contracting car modelling, there may be plenty of cars in the queue, but PD, I guess, are busy going over the details of those models.

My Dream Update? It would definitely be labeled as 3.0.

Playing Experience :
  • "GT Mode" has been added to the Main Menu. Licence Tests A, B, IA, IB and S can be required as you progress in this mode.

  • Brand logos are now displayed by default when the HUD shows the cars, instead of flags.
  • The opponent list in race can be displayed as a banner.

  • Many flags has been added for various countries in Custom Race mode.
  • A championship option has been added for Custom Race mode.
  • The race can be saved when entering a pit lane.
  • The championship progress can be saved between two races.
...you dreaming about GT8 then!

Struggling to believe that this needs all restating just eight posts later.

Technically 12, but four more content wishlist posts have been removed or moved (and a fifth edited). Somehow.

Just lock the thread if you want to
I stopped paying attention to it a while ago when it just descended into wishlist thread #6728193

I will not follow the current PD update style by simply changing the numbers of tracks/cars per update. In contrast, I would like each update to have:
  • Monthly periodicity
  • Distinct theme (same car segment/category, similar timeframe etc.)
  • 5+ cars, at least 3 of them being related to the theme above
  • 1 new track location (ok not every update, lets say 1 every 3 months). It would be good if it was related to the theme above (e.g. Pike's Peak with 208 T16, Hyundai and Tesla PP)
  • New track layouts on existing track, once every 3 months. This includes Rain on existing tracks (personal favorite in GT7).
  • 1 new Music Rally (every 3 months, opposite to "track" updates)
  • 1-2 new Missions, but this will require that we have standalone missions and not under a group of 8. Endurance races will also fit in here
  • 1-2 Special Events, while will be active only till the next update drops. Needless to say it would be good to fir under the theme above! (This is an idea inspired from PD's JGTC special event of weekly events)
  • 2 new Extra Menus, 1 for the 3 selected cars above and 1 for another new car(s) + existing cars in the game (LOVE them)
  • 1 new Scapes' location. Once again, it would be good if it was related to the theme above
I don't really care about new races, since after an hour completing them after the update drops we (the majority) forget them and we revert back to the cash-cow races. If PD decides to balance all races between each other (category and distance wise) then I would add them to the dream update. But this is sth to be discussed on other threads.

As you can see, the main thing for my dream update is to have sth homogenous. To me there current updates are so incoherent, a few cars and tracks delivered to us "clients" as soon as they are ready.

Increased and dynamic "easy level" which by definition is the inverse and the same as reduced difficulty level in all events and missions and license tests. Both more credits for less hours and after first time we finish the chequered flag in any test/competition in the game, there should be the option to reduce the time by 1% after every finished attempt!

After reading all this, I was just hoping that I could get an actual coffee at the Gran Turismo Cafe...... :sly:

Maybe some pie.......maybe?

Probably already touched on. A CRB indicator so you know when you lost it. Ability to FF a song. Any and all tracks ever in the series before. All the old special content like Senna and Andretti etc. (but not the moon, that was just goofy)

B-Spec B-Spec B-Spec B-Spec
How is B Spec going to make the current game any better? honestly what value will it add? if you need B spec for a 30min race I think you have bigger personal problems to address

B-Spec B-Spec B-Spec B-Spec
The only good reason to add B-spec is because the payouts are very bad in the beginning of the game, or even before the last [ordinary] menu book are completed. So B-spec would mean less boring grinding time.

More races in Sport Mode, like race D, race E, race F etc... Just more choices than the same ol same ol weekly races that they do now. Races that consist of a Gr.1 race, a Gr.2 race, a VGT race (for those that like those vehicles) and a stock car race, like what they did with Watkins Glen this week.

Of course a better penalty system in Sport Mode.

Longer AI endurance races, a 2 hour and a 4 hour race at least.
