This update has truly demoralised me. Still no selling, no new track, no seasonal events, more pointless PP changes, more events at Tokyo when Monza and Bathurst are literally starving for them, absolute refusal to communicate with the fanbase...

Might have to take a break from this mess. God knows what happened to the PD that was updating GT Sport.
Why don't you try driving a car? :)

Just on your own in time trial mode.

You're wrong. They do communicate with the fanbase - every so often they ask us to showcase our Scapes images. 🤣😂

That's not even PD, that's a social media company in London hired by Sony.

The only communication with PD specifically is anything Kaz tweets, which is usually just the silhouettes. Except today, when he did some promo for Mazda.

Maybe the GT community should start replying to Kaz using silhouettes? I mean if that and Japanese are the languages he uses lol.... 🤣😂

All my favorites stock cars for Tokyo 600 are now above 600pp.

The Cayman, the C7, all 3 Vipers, Ford GT, R35, SLR McLaren, AMG GT-R, F-type, DB 11...

I also like to use jdm cars with RH tires + WR level 2. Now they too are above 600pp.

Dammit PD. Stop messing around with this ****. I have to buy the "reset chassi" for some of my tunes and they're so expensive...

And the crowd go mild.

I can't believe how uninspiring this 'game' has become. I haven't played it for about 3 months. I get interested and hopes raise with the announcement of a new update, just to be kicked in the bollocks again.

Great to add cars and some menu books but still looking for more immersive RPG style career mode. New course or even create your own, wishing, but okay something to take up about an hour of time.

What exactly was changed about custom race?

"5. Custom Race
 - Rival cars selected via 'Rivals Settings' > 'Rivals Selection' > 'Select from Garage' will now use the appropriate tyres as per the Race Settings, regardless of whether you own the tyres for that car."

I thought this would mean that they would finally use the tire you equipped on said car, like giving a classic muscle car sports tires instead of the comforts some of them have by default. However, they still use the default tire unless it's Racing Hards. I haven't seen a setting about limiting which tires are available either; setting sports softs as the minimum, etc.

Yes.

Maybe PD forgot to implement said change yet announced it. Tried a custom race, and I don't even see a tire selection in the race settings.

We get a new Nurburgring race at least but I expect the payout to be low and the car options to be tiny and the rain to be plentiful.
And don't forget the weaving AI cars.

If GT simulated the Merak SS, it wouldn't last a single lap (around Northern Isle Speedway)

The fact GT is now relying on monthly updates to gain any attraction is absolutely shameful.

And no, it's something no new car, no new event or new scape could ever fix.

Is that your garage at home?

My predictions from the October predictions thread:

  • Watch the Merak end up in Hagerty's to make 2 Hagerty's cars. After all, the cheap Gordini and Camaro Z28 did. At least there isn't a VGT, but a second bespoke "racing" Miata and a previous-generation GT3 are nothing to write home about, even though they make 4 cars total.
  • So much for the track, though if Nenkai is right, Grand Canyon is still a possibility as somebody pointed out earlier. When that comes, it will have a strictly-enforced CRB just like the Catalunya rallycross circuit, where it is nigh impossible to attain.
  • Related, I doubt we get even 3 new events, much less new menu books. Whatever new events we get will be of the lower-paying variety (closer to the equivalent of 500,000-600,000 Cr. per hour with CRB rather than 800,000 Cr. per hour).
  • We'll see about the menu collections. Something tells me I nailed both the prices and the unavailability of the keystone cars.
  • I nailed yet another Japanese scapes. I'm surprised they went to the UK for the other one.
  • Instead of nerfing the PP adjustments, they're going to nerf the PP requirements. Something tells me the Sardegna, Sarthe and Spa grinders will become 730 PP, 630 PP and 730 PP events.
  • The bookies now have car selling coming tomorrow at 1,000,000-1...and that's optimistic.
Clubber Lang was right again - PAIN!

Do we need to get Dale Gribble up in the vents again for some more bug fixing?
No idea who he is, but I was expecting the AI road cars in the Custom Race to use Sports tires or, specifically, sports softs. I don't see the tire options when I set up the Custom Race.

Bummer, well, I have a lot of tuned road cars set up specifically to run as equals in Custom Race, with RH tires when they start the race.

There is a wrench for Grand Canyon - the entries for it in the GT Sport's files (which makes it less of a reliable source) has "_ps2" suffix in it, meaning it's more likely that Grand Canyon in that was mainly a test entry.

Is it me or did they set the reset way too high for that historic cup thing.
I go deep into bus stop at spa and I and reentering the track slowly, reset me 100m before bus stop.

AI bumps me at the entrance to raddion, I go on the grass, reset and I lose 10seconds due to starting at 0.
Instead of fixing the AI, they put time into coding the resetting.

I was right about the Merak getting the Hagerty's treatment, though I'm mostly wrong about the collection menus. The engine roulette is time-gated by a single UCD-only car, with a total cost of, if one gets only the 1992 NSX used, "only" 1,118,400 Cr., while the parts roulette is time-gated by 2 UCD-only cars, with a total cost, if one gets the 2002 Silvia new and didn't grab the 1994 Silvia when it debuted, at a bit less than 184,800 (as the 1994 will be discounted in future UCD appearances).

Eyeballing the 5 new races, the new Historic Sports Car Masters series (which gives a 4-star Wheel of Despair the first time through) and the new Silvia Sisters race look to be worth less than 750,000 Cr./hour each with the CRB, while the new "Gr.1" race looks to be worth close to 900,000 Cr./hour with the CRB. I haven't evaluated the PP changes yet, but judging from @Arkseven's comment above, it's another round taking a beating from Clubber Lang (or if you want the real world, Mike Tyson at his prime).

With each update I'm just more and more curious about what is going on at PD. Not even upset or mad or anything (it is kinda funny even), just curious. Like, what's exactly their plan? Yet again I'm remembering how they were able to give ~10 new cars each month and a new track every 2 months, and since GTS launch they started using outsource and probably also hired more people. Maybe during that time their empoyees were at work 24/7 modelling new stuff on top of outsourcing, but now they came back to normal schedule and also got rid of the outsource? Yeah, GTS had quite a lot of backlash at launch for the lack of content, but there were much more positivity about the game in general, especially after first few updates. Meanwhile, GT7 also had backlash at launch (probably even a bigger one), and now, 8 months after, PD didn't really make any update to bring those upset players back. Yeah, I guess GT7' problems are not really about cars and tracks, but PD don't really do much about other things players been asking for either. And I'm sure people would complain way less if they would again get 10 cars each month and a new track every 2 months.
Of course, patch notes are still not there, and maybe it's gonna be the best update ever, will see tomorrow, I guess. Though it's not gonna change much about what I said.
Thought about it a bit more (I'm bored at work) and decided to add some to my previous message.
Judging by Nenkai's messages, the new track been at work and was kinda finished last month (if I remember correctly), and I assume it means there are no other "ready to go" tracks in the game files right now. That can technically mean they are actually just very slow with making new content now and not just holding back a bunch of stuff. Harder to determine that with cars though, since I don't think we ever heard about cars being ready but not released, but we have a long list of cars which have been actually appearing in the game, and Nenkai also mentioned cars "being worked on", so probably it's the same situation as with tracks, they do work on a bunch, but none are really ready to be released and just sitting in a waiting room for dripfeed purposes. However, when Silvia S14 was added, he said there were no mentions of it before the update when it was added, so can't really be any sure about this, since we don't know when that Silvia was actually finished.
What I'm saying is, it kinda seems like PD possibly actually just reduced the amount of content they produce, rather than just holding the content back. Back in GTS days after PD started using outsource it was possible to find here and there different posts from 3D modellers saying something like "I've worked on this car for Gran Turismo and it was just released today in a new update!". There are really not enough evidences to be certain, but it is possible PD actually just dropped outsourcing again and that's why GT7 gets bit more content than GT5/6, but nowhere near GTS. Or they are just already working on a PS5-only GT8 and want to introduce as much new content for it as possible, lol.

At first I thought hmmm yeah maybe they are developing lots of content for gt8 and drip feeding us some of that content, which I thought would be good, then I realised I paid 70 quid for gt7 and I'm disappointed to say the least.

That isn't just a I hate everything about gt7 I love the physics and the graphics and that makes me more Dissapointed that on a content level it is woefully lacking

There has to be some kind of sabotage going on at PD, it's the only way I can make sense of the laughable support this game has been receiving since launch.

Or maybe everyone at PD already gave the **** up about saving this mess of a game and are fully focusing on a PS5 exclusive installment, which could be GT8, and there's truly only 15 people working on GT7 which is just enough to keep it running(but not smoothly, as we see with all the issues that Sport mode and the lobbies have) and explains why the DLC additions are so lackluster...

How hard is it for they to give us a road map or just comment on what future plans they have for this game...Whats the ****ing point of all this secrecy?

Or if they don't want to work on this game anymore and fully focus on GT8 then they should just come clean about that and tell us, it will be hilariously pathetic to see GT7 ending up like this but at least there will be no more expectations surrounding this game.

Man this is pathetic.

Kaz apologized 8 months ago and still hasn’t implemented everything he said was coming, they have barely done anything but add cafe books and scapes, and he scolded people for not taking a long term view of this game.

🤣
