Really, another vintage Camero.... i mean i love the car, but i'd prefer something that was actually made to take on the track.

Well the Camaro's were originally built to road race. And that Camaro build was meant to be road-raced. Your point?

From all the great cars at sema that was the best he could choose. Did he forget his glasses ?

Firstly, that car is pretty cool when you consider what it was built to do and the performance that's under the hood.

Secondly, you must understand that you need to enter the Gran Turismo Awards in order to be eligible to win. Since many cars there probably didn't enter, it doesn't matter how cool they are since they can't be selected to win a category. And that brings me to my next point: Yamauchi-san is a busy man and isn't in town very long, so he shows up and does interviews while judges walk around picking which cars win the five categories. Kaz then selects which of the five cars that the Judges deemed worthy to be worthy of GT5. So even if everyone likes this one car, but the judge of the category doesn't... bummer!

Then there's just my theory that Kaz seems to consider the owner/builder as much a part of the car as the metal is. He also seems to look for cars that become more than the sum of their parts. To him, that Camaro had something about it that was unique and superior to the other cars there... so he selected it as the winner.

The winner is Mary Pozzi. The car is a pro-touring second gen camaro. It is freaking bada$&. I followed the build of it on pro-touring.com. Can't wait to see it in game. Gonna be sweet if they put the sticker she has on the back window of her moto "Stick you B$&:h".

LS Powered 73 Camaro ?
Yes please.
Edit: Turns out she raced against Mark Stieow (?), the winner of Last Years Award.

The damn thing has carbon fiber inner fender wells. Game, set, match.

How long will this digitizing take.

It won't matter how long since it's not set to appear in GT5, probably GT6 though.

A pro-touring style 2nd Gen Camaro isn't high on my list of interest, but I do have a soft spot for that particular style, with the split bumpers too, and since it's pro-touring.. it should get around corners well enough. :D

I was really hoping kaz would pick the V8 Genesis coupe but ok.. I guess he really is going around picking what he like.

wow someone beat the planet on new news? Pictures of the GT Award winning car are already posted on the PSN boards.

There was mention a while ago that the entrance form or something had mention on it that the car would appear in gt5. Can't quite remember the details nor where I saw it (Im think it was here on a thread, but not 100% sure), but its something I remember vaguely reading.

Nice to see a second generation Camaro, though it makes you wonder what Kaz is thinking since he picked the first gen Camaro the year before....

Next year's winner: a 1988 Camaro maybe :)?

Congrats to Mary Pozzi et al 👍

That would be great all five generations of the camaro.

GT6 missed something.

Jordan was at the event, gotta allow him a day or two for travel and prep. He'll have it up as soon as he can. 👍

he doesn't go by looks or what's under the hood but the story behind the car, how it was conceptualized, what sacrifices were made, how passionate the owner really is..that kind of stuff....a true enthusiast he is, but don't worry i'm with you on the disappointed end as well...they're usually not the most desirable of cars..

I don't think okami is insulting Muscle cars but just merely pointing out that they have won it for the last 3 years and while I don't in the slightest doubt the effort gone into them it would be nice if there was a greater variety of winners in terms of the type of cars that win.
