At least, it's not like he's putting a fake future war vehicle in GT5 and only have it there to look at. We get to experience them. The Art Morrison Corvete isn't exactly a race modified car. The orange Audi TT being one of those that are fit to be on a race track. The AM Corvette is still really powerful. It's just a boat which makes it suck to race.

Looking though the pictures, I really wished the Rauh Welt 911 won. :(

Edit: Herpderp, I wrote Raul instead of Rauh.

Just goes to show you how great the muscle cars is and what people do with them to make them monsters. Even a skyline lover like Kaz would pick a muscle car to win.

The way you worded it bothers me so much. Nothing to do with taste of cars of course, just a literature niggle.

What was Yamauchi-san like in person?

Does he speak english (albeit badly?) when in private conversation?
He is kind and very intelligent and knowledgeable. He seemed relaxed and happy at SEMA and the Awards. He does understand and is able to speak limited English, as I had several brief conversations with him without Translator-san (who is also a very nice guy). :)

I figured he had an understanding of it since he doesn't seem to need Translator-san to convert English to Japanese in most interviews... he just stranslates Japanese to English.

That's it, I'm definitely going to SEMA next year even if I have to quit my job to be there!

AMEN! I would have been so happy to have such a beautiful and powerful monster in my garage.

Exellent! Now we have all gens of Camaro! :D:tup:

True! Although I'd prefer to have a production version of the third gen instead of the Concept... but it certainly marks the Camaro with a colorful representation in the game.

That's actually a dream car if mine. Always loved the Split Bumper. Mmmmm older bro had a ragged out one back in the 80's. However it had the 327 in it. (So I recall him saying). It would lay rubber for a good while. Hahaha he turned me into a smokey burn out freak with that car. . .

So stoked for this. Maybe this be out by Christmas? Take them what a month or so to scan it?

Last years SEMA Award winner isn't even in the game yet and you expect this one to be included soon?

According to Yamauchi-san it takes 6 months for a modeler to start and finish a car using their hyper-detailed inclusion method. They do not scan cars.

The Camaro takes it in my book, nice and clean. Everything else was a little to overstated except the F-150.

What was last years winner anyway? I can't remember.

Well let's hope they advanced in technology. :)

Can you explain " hyper-detailed inclusion" for me. I tried to find info on it. No luck. But I really have no clue what else it maybe referred to as.

Mark Stielow's '69 Camaro. It was built with the plan to be taken to the Nurburgring and was powered by a modified LS9 Chevy V8. Very slick car indeed and built by the guy who essentially created the first Pro Touring cars... and thus the entire Pro Touring niche.

Well let's hope they advanced in technology. :)

Nobody knows what it is since PD is tight lipped about it. But whatever they do, they do to ensure that the cars as detailed as the real life counterparts. The actual method is unknown, but they don't use scans.

There are over 100 other cars I would have loved to be in the game. But im a huge fan of the 71 camaro , my friend just got one a few months ago.So im happy as long as it wasnt a japanese car.

Sounds as though this Camaro won't be in GT5? :embarrassed: I mean, otherwise Kaz would have said at least it would appear in GT5...or maybe he said this and I missed it?

I think it was said to be included in a future GT game, I'd really like to it as well as last years winner in GT5 though..

before you say that, you need to be sure, and yes I do know someone who was around when they did one of the cars for the game. IF you do a little searching you can find the article and the forum it was posted on. can't be given ya all the info, gotta make ya do a little work for it.

from Mary
When the Camaro was first nominated, I didn't think it's chances were good. The final five have the creator of Gran Turismo personally look at and even sit inside each car to get a fit and feel of it. Working through an interpreter, he asked me some very pointed questions and we talked at length. I showed him the engine compartment, undercarriage, and seating ... and when he got done, he said "This car I want to drive!!!"

The five of us got to go to the awards presentation at The Marquee (Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas) and it was VIP status to the max. We were sort of sequestered and all of us got to go on stage and accept our individual awards. They then called up the 2011 Winner and it still is pretty unbelievable. All of the finalists were impressive and definitely worthy of the award. The Marquee is pretty cool too. Kim Kardashian apparently thought highly enough of the place to have a birthday party there.

It'll take a little time before the Camaro makes it into the game but I think that both Mark Stielow's and my Camaro will be in the same game series.

I'm still in shock ...
