Parnelli you should go drive them. You would never know how addicting a game is until you live it up to the fullest. :) I like to go drive as many cars as I could and keep the ones I like in my garage. It's also addicting to try to beat your own lap times with all the other cars to see which one is best for you. :sly:

GT1 was a great game and an instant classic. GT2 added tremendously to the game; more races, more tracks, more cars. Hence my vote for GT2.

GT3, I felt, was a giant step backward in nearly every aspect save graphics. It couldn't hold my interest long enough to get beyond 15% or 20% completion; I went back to GT2.

GT4, which got my other vote, is everything that GT3 should have been but wasn't. Sure it's not perfect; none of them are. But it's the one I enjoy most.

i spend years playing GT4 when i was like 10-12 years old. Thank to that game i became addicted to cars :D
i love the huge carlist, cool tracks and the racingmodifications. If PD would touch up the grafics of GT2 and replaced some cars with newer ones it would be much better than GT4. I like all 4 GT games, it's the best game series made toghter with GTA.

Naw, now that I'm into GT4, I'm completely addicted! I really can't go back. GT3 is like coffee. GT4 is like meth. I just discovered the Yosemite track last nite (El Captain or something). After just one lap there, I knew I had found my calling in life. 👍

I've played them all and owned them all but lost them in moves I have done over the past 7yrs. I voted for #4 because I judge a game based on looks and how close to reality it is. But I prefer #2 because of how many cars there was in the game.

But honestly, I LOVED the amount of Mustangs they put into #2, I had owned them all.

But voted for #4 due to realism.

I was given an okay from a mod to revive this thread. (Thanks. :D) I feel as though this thread should be revived, due to the fact that there are more people out there playing GT and other games listed, and they can post how they feel about those games here, rather than go off-topic on another thread.

I gave my vote to GT4, seeing as it is the only one I own. I love the game.... But my PS2 is long since dead, so no more GT for me.... :( :( :(

I voted GT1 because they got the challenge just right, and it's never been the same since. From GT2 on, there's never been that special challenge of the Normal and Tuned Car series. Because they got it so right, the game had such longevity - I spent months, even years, doing the Normal and Tuned series with progressively slower cars. Who can forget when they finally beat the NSX in Normal, then when they managed it in the Skyline, then the Impreza?

And GT1 is where we learned that a stage 2 turbo will get you around most tracks faster than a stage 4 - in this Tuned Car series you had to get it just right or you lost. I'll never forget the excitement of doing Autumn Ring (Race 4?) in Tuned - it was so frantic!

Although GT4 is bigger, with better graphics, more cars etc, and I'm loving it, they've never quite re-created that original magic. There needs to be a core handful of series within the game that defines it, and now we have only the GTWC itself in GT4.

Why is Gran Turismo Mobile up there? It's not even out yet, if ever.

I found GT3 a little more fun, but I voted for Gran Turismo 4 instead, mainly due to it being the biggest GT yet. I still haven't got around to finishing it!

GT2:racing modification, songs is great,Physics is much better than GT4,some uniqe car (Drag Racing car:Interpid and 180 sx - I think -), no AIDS things .

GT4:more car, more rims, you can choose wings, more HP,Difficulty is good thing, photo mode is a new idea.

GT2, because of Red Rock Valley, Grindelwald and the Speed 12's engine sound.

Good call, on both. I like the racingmods from 2, the wheels from 3, and the graphics/physics from 4.

Top is 4, of course. With 2 being a close second. The races I had in 2 were more intense than Chuck Norris fighting constapation on the crapper.

I love the complete versions of GT. I guess each of them was the best GT before another GT was released.

GT1. The first decent car game with a lot of innovation

GT2. Huge improvements added to make it more enjoyable. Awesome list of cars.

GT3. It broke the graphic limits saw before, making this 3rd version the most spectacular change of all.

GT4. Nürburgring Nordschleife + Photomode + Physics. The interface and non-racing extras of the game make it the most complete and professional of all times.

Common GT. Gran Turismo means quality and knowledge for me. There are better physics simulators, already better graphics with next gen games, even better sound in some cases... but overall GT is great from little to big details, made for a team who has been spenting years developing an unique concept.

I'm always amazed to discover new cars in every GT release. Cars I've never known before, and that's automotive culture for me.

This game shown what is a Skyline (i.e) to the world. Remember this!

:scared: :scared: :scared: GT2 cars are driven like they were trains. You must try a Live for Speed or NKpro then.

I'm agree with the HKS 180SX and HKS R32 Drag Car. That 180 one had one of the best sounds I heard in GT, it was really awesome.

Someone do remember the stock Supra engine sound from GT1? Haha, as nice as unbeliable but... just a japan car, it's evident!

GT2!
Being able to convert a road car to a race car was cool.
The gameplay, graphics and sound, etc. was awesome for PS1.

dang do i have to use my brain now??.......ive just woken up :dopey:

Having completed GT 1 & 2 back in the day, and now working my way thru 3 & 4 (not forgetting TT also) id have to say 4, with 2 a very close second. That could change the more i play 3 and TT, so really i dunno at this point. I voted for 4 but i guess going by the ones i have completed (which maybe is the thing it should be based on?), then id say 2.

I've only played GT3 (100%+) and GT4 (60%), but despite its flaws, my favorite is GT4. If only because it has Sears Point (my favorite course in the world) and the 'Ring in it, in accurate forms.

I own a used copy of GT2 but I've never played it. I should try it sometime, but gaming hours are scarce.

tell me the truth (did remember the first time when you try driving any car on GT4 ,what did you say about GT4?)
I think you saied -at that moment - this car not turn easily :yuck: what wrong with GT4?
is that True or Not?

It's well worth a try. Grindlewald, Rome Night, Red Rock Valley Speedway,Tahiti Road course and the Pikes Peak Hill Climb are some of the finest circuits PD have produced. You might find the PS1 graphics and non-analogue controls a bit of a culture shock compared to GT3 & 4 but it really is good fun 👍

Close one between GT3 and GT4 for me. I achieved 100% on GT3, still working on GT4. GT4 has more tracks, the Plymouth 'Cuda, and more to do. But there are 2 things I really don't like about GT4: The 24hr. endurance races with no progress save option, and the pathetic, incompetent string of code that is rally mode, er, excuse me, Special Conditions. Thus, GT3 gets my vote.

That's what's scaring me. I'm a dual analog sticks or wheel/pedals kind of guy. I tend to drive like a drunken epileptic with a keyboard or d-pad.

No need to be scared, GT and GT2 both fully support dual analog for steering and throttle/brakes. Here in Euro land, GT was one of the first games to support the original non-rumble dual analog controllers (one of which I still have at home in a cupboard).

Does it support analog inputs to the buttons though? - i was under the impression (from what i can remember of playing GT2 on my PS2) that the buttons are either on or off, rather than the increments that GT3/4 allows for throttle modulation on the X button.

Excellent! That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the info.

Given my apparent lack of fine motor control (at least under the stress of videogaming), it's totally irrelevant if the game supports incremental buttons. In my hands the buttons have two settings - ON and OFF. Half the time I press R3 and L3 accidentally when I'm using the sticks, anyway - there's no way I could modulate button pressure.

The first I thought was the physics was much better than the previous GTs. I used an Elise at Nords and reactions was much complex and logical, more "real".

Many people still say GT4 cars doesn't turn. The problem is what I said, the previous GT's cars was driven like they were by rails, as all car games. Just try a hardcore physics simulator and see cars has less grip than GT, and really accurated real reactions.

I like GT saga a lot, but GT is not perfect.

No, I didn't. But then I've driven real cars at speed and until you do that you just don't know what terminal understeer is.

Is it slightly exaggerated in GT4? Maybe. But it's not fundamentally wrong.

Very much agreed! GT2 had some of the most equal racing...none of this NSX getting far ahead of the rest of the Ai crap! In the GT2 pacific regionals for instance, I have replays of an NSX leading. Then the NSX would lose it in the grass. Now a Viper leads. But the Viper catches a nudge from a Supra and now a Lancer leads. Everyone was equal in these 2 or 3 lap sprints instead of one or two cars having a huge advantage.

Yes, the buttons in GT1 or GT2 are either on or off. You have to switch to full-analog in the options menu to get incremental gas or brakes.

and that why ployphone make gear warning (red)?cause you can't make the car turns until you reach the correct gear.:nervous:

the other things I would to add ,when AIDS is off and with N tyres car
you cant make good zig zag ,until you tune the suspision (springs things)
