No idea how they’d turn it into a good story, but if they scan each track they go and bring it to gt7, I will watch it with my grandmother
Where they shoot may not necessarily translate to the movie location. Could double up for the Nordschleife.

Although the set photos seem to be GT Academy related with Nissan GT-R's.

If Hungaroring actually features in this Gran Turismo movie as Hungaroring, it would make sense to add it to the game, not that making sense has anything to do with it. ;) (Pikes Peak?)

Of course, with a bit of movie magic, it's been demonstrated that Brands Hatch can become Monza, and other tracks (RUSH), and you can make 60s Le Mans in California and Georgia (FvF/LM66).

Hungaroring might be in the movie, or it could be any other track, even a Deep Forest dream sequence for all I know.

Since Djimon Hounsou is in the cast, I can use this gif...

Guardians Of The Galaxy GIF

:D

You know what? I'm gonna give it straight. I think this premise is lame since it's just copying the GT Academy campaign. But then again, I still kinda want to see the final result - maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. But I'd really prefer the story to be less about the real-world story of GT academy, and maybe more so about a guy who gets into cars because of GT, and then goes through what's basically a live-action GT campaign, modifying his car as he goes - and culminates in the high-speed "Like the Wind" event.

In other words, my ideal GT movie would be more representative of how one progresses through a typical GT game, rather than it barely avoiding documentary status.

EDIT: Oh, and if there's a romance side-plot, then I'll be real pissed. That'd be way over the line for a GT movie. But then again, if the real story of this GT Academy winner did indeed notably involve his love life, then whatever.

Another game turn into a movie flop incoming.
GT dont have the potential to have good story, it is not that kind of game.
Please stick to improving the game itself.
If you've read the articles you'll know the game isn't the story. The story is an actual story that happened in the real world to a real person, and thus entirely usable as a story.

So... Someone became a real racing driver thanks to playing GT?
We already "saw that movie" when we saw people like Lucas Ordoñez go from GT to real racing, not such a tremendous deal that deserves a movie I think. I would say its gonna be boring

This has nothing to do for example with Uncharted, which is a far more appropiate videogame to make a movie out of.

BUT... If PD earn money thanks to this movie, so they can improve, hire more people and speed up the actual game's development and improvement, then of course its all so welcome...

Yes. As we've written in every article about this, it's a story based on Jann Mardenborough, going from a teenager playing Gran Turismo to a racing driver in the top category at Le Mans, Super GT, and international GT racing.

Have you never seen a film based on real events before? This is that.

Sure, but they're not making a movie out of the Gran Turismo game - like I just told you - so that's not relevant...
If PD earn money thanks to this movie
Sony Pictures will earn the money.

I dont think it's gonna be any good, but if they earn some decent money, through Sony Pictures, which is essentially Sony, and PD is also part of Sony (therefore PD should benefit for that) then it's alright, good luck to them...

He was the second champion in the series, right? I think I saw him on a Formula E broadcast this year...iiinnnnn Mexico? I think it was? I thought he was going the open-wheel racer route. How has he faired at racing over the years?

Pretty average. Had a few good results here and there, fairly consistent top 10s in Super GT, but not much to write home about. Still, he did well for someone who didn't race in real life until 19. But there is certainly no grandstand finale if they follow his career accurately, which I suspect they won't.

Thirdish.

Lucas Ordonez was technically the first champion, but it was actually a joint award; the other driver wasn't able to complete enough night qualifying for Dubai and didn't race.
Jordan Tresson won the second event in 2010.
Jann Mardenborough won the European event in 2011, with Bryan Heitkotter winning the first USA-only event the same year.

He raced in GT3 throughout, almost winning Blancpain Pro-Am (which actually went to the other GT Academy car), European F3, Japanese F3, Super Formula, Super GT in both GT300 and GT500, and of course drove the awful Nissan LMP1. I think his car was the one that finished the race on fire about six hours from the end. I think he was also briefly a Red Bull Junior driver, and also came second in the Toyota Racing Series.

He was really weirdly dropped from GT500; he was better (faster) than his Japanese team-mate, came close to winning a couple times before car failure, but wasn't retained for 2021 while his team-mate was. If I remember rightly he also scored pole position for a Super Formula race which never happened due to a typhoon.

Currently he's Nissan's Formula E simulator driver. We have a news tag for him :D

Well I respect that. I think having Geri in the movie doesnt Auto make it bad. Will have to see how her acting chops are these days besides, the movie isn’t going to be centred around her. She isnt a driver lol.
I'm sorry but Geri (Spicy up own life) is not a ****er serious actor, my view and its mine alone, I won't watch it in the cinema, ill wait till it's out and see what people on the forum say about it then i will see if its worth my time. it could be good, it could be great or a pile of something else

A fair many:

Grease

Tank Girl(kinda)
Suicide Squad(kinda)
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Hunger Games
My Little Pony
Teen Titans
Probably countless anime out there

That’s all I got off the top of my head…
