We have september (Spa probably) and october (Michelin) to come but I asume we are arriving at the end of the free DLC support. I think Christmas could be the grand finale and put GTSport on version 2.0 but that is pure speculation....

Speculation based on what?

Speculation based on what?

Just my speculation / thoughts. They need to finish of the updates somehow although I think GTSport is a GaaS -model, it can't be free forever with all the updates. Spec 2.0 would align up the game as a PS5 launch title so both versions are compatible with eachother. After that DLC could become of charge to pay productioncosts, servers etc. As said speculation on my side and really nothing official or based on anything. Just thoughts ;)

Remember polyphony doesn't follow other companies just because there is new console behin the corner doesn't automatically mean they willl stop with free DLC. bear in mind these models are done so future gen will reuse them so every free DLC car will be in the new one so this hurts them in no way other than building anticipation for whats coming.

Just given the update a quick spin... Man the GTO is smooth as creamy butter.

The rain, yeah.. LOL, decided to try it out in a custom GT4 race... Only about 24 seconds off the pace after the first lap. Don't think I'll be bothering much with that.
I did a five lap race with the GTO against same class AI. I was four seconds off the fastest pace and finished 16th. The winner was the not OP or anything, Xbow.

I had a race in the Rain last night in Kie's lobby, and the heavy rain is tricky. I tried the GT3 Hyundai out first (thought light weight, n/a engine and low torque would make it drivable but I was wrong) so switched to the Mercedes AMG and it was a lot easier. It is still hard work and I cheated a bit by bumping up the TC to 2 in the race (rear wet tyres apparently wear quickly so I thought the TC would help). Don't think wet lines really exist, but the game is tricky in heavy rain.

Managed to pick up the pace as the race went on so the Merc is worth a try. Porsche is probably the best though, with the BMW Z4 another decent choice (according to Kie, I haven't tried them yet).

Game is fun in the rain and looks good. Very nice update and looking forward to future tracks in the rain.

Rofl there's no way they could scrimp those cars in the future now considering the new GT title is already around the corner.

Roll on GT Sport on the PS5! Please let it be Christmas 2020! I don't want to wait 5 years again!

I would be more than happy if this was the case, the original version was lacking in content but was very polished as opposed to GT5 back on the PS3.

One final update in December and keeping the sport mode alive and races rotating is more than enough for me so they can focus on GT7 and gives another polished game with more content from launch on PS5

FM7 is taking it to far with the heavy rain. However GTS has puddles on the course and those don't seem to affect the physics.

Thats why it called "The Real Screenshot Simulator" :)
Its all just visual and canned fake effects, there is no physics working behind that all.

How is TC2 cheating? Its upto the driver. Its all about being fast with or without TC.

Yeah. It's a beaut to drive but it's not the quickest.

Also, can't be tuned to 931hp like in GT1... I am disappoint.

Quite pointless to be scanning cars as similar as the Levin and Trueno from the same year. Likewise with the Evo5 WRX.
I’ve always liked the Levin more for some reason, so for me it’s far from pointless. As similar as they may be, they’re not identical, unlike the countless duplicates which they counted as different cars back in GT4. I mean, R34 Skyline GT-R’s alone took up 6 or 7 spots on the car list, and they looked EXACTLY the same.

I do not see the reason to terminate support for GTS when ps5 will be seen, perhaps, at the end of 2020 and a hypothetical GT7, perhaps, in 2021.
Remember that ps5 will be fully backwards compatible with ps4 and therefore you can continue to update and play GTS quietly on ps5, without forgetting that everything they are creating for GTS, will be put on GT7 without needing to redo anything, but only an update, where necessary , of what they have already developed.
In essence, they can still update it for at least another year.

PS: 2.0, if ever, I see it closer to the output of a ps5.

It's not cheating, but it is if I do it :)
TC2 seemed to work good for me in the rain, but don't think it is as fast as TC1 or TC0 so would have to do a lot of practice before I was comfortable with driving in the wet.

I think the visuals look stunning. Imo they're more realistic than Driveclub, but not as pretty. The base physics are better than I expected, but I hope they add aquaplaning and wet line.

One thing that really gets on my nerve is how the cars don't leave tyre marks on the wet surface, it almost ruins the immersion for me now that I've noticed it. Does this bother anyone else?

First time I tried the rainy conditions, I assumed the heavy wet tires would be applied automatically.
Yeah, that didn't work out well.

Would be interesting to see if there's a difference in performance or effects between PS4 & PS4 Pro with the rain...

Are you sure?

That what I have bin saying, after playing all night, I really do tip my hat to Polyphony digital for what they have done, the spay from the cars that u can see in I don’Distance and how the shield fill up in the spay of Another car, I am play on ps4 pro and I am Impressed how they have Maximize the hardware, I think the rain is a great success and still show how Current GEN console can be pushed so hard,

Behind when it comes to features, sure, but way ahead when it comes to visual quality. GTS is arguably the most photo realistic racing game out there, because of or thanks to the lack of dynamic weather and day/night cycles.

Both the tracks and cars are well future proof now though, so for next gen they can once again implement dynamic effects while at the same time keep or even improve the frame rate. As the sucker for graphics that I am, I can’t wait!

True, yet the graphics wow factor goes away after a while. It's been over half a year since I bothered to hook up the pro to my 4K HDR tv. I'm playing on an 12 year old 1080p LCD. The lack of dynamic races is finally slowing down my interest in the the dailies.

My lack of enthusiasm mainly comes from the fact that I don't like RBR very much. I hope PD also fixed the track limits with the rain or I'm afraid at how the penalty system will make a mess of sport races in the rain.

I'll patiently wait for rain to come to N24. Plus when there's a night setting with rain I'll check it out in HDR again!

I don't know where else to ask or if it's already been discussed somewhere on this forum. Where's update 1.42? The one from July 31st was 1.41 and this one is 1.43. So... Am I stupid or have I missed something?

Spa is coming soon and if I'm honest I would be happy with having that and a few more cars as the final content update so the team can fully focus on gt7 so when it releases it's a bit more complete than Sport was on release day.

Speak for yourself. I hope they continue updates until the PS5 releases at a minimum, if not until the next game drops.

Finally got a race with most of the AI Group C cars together(I'm in the 787B). This is my favorite thing to do in the game. Now, if PD would be so kind to add Group A touring cars like what GRID just revealed, that'd be lovely.

After they add 100 more old road cars to the game, they probably will.
