Not liking the 650S GT3 sounds. Too much transmission whine and not enough engine noise.

Yeah that's the usual way in previous GTs too, but I was hoping they improved. How many times did I get a 10 sec penalty when someone rammed the rear of my car.

Even professional stewards with access to multiple camera angles and car telemetry etc don't always get the penalties right even in big series like Formula One for example. It's impossible to code a system that would know who to blame on an accident and make the right desicion every time. The iracing style system will work much better. Project Cars 2 will do it the same way too.

You mean like all the casual players who aren't experienced Sim Racers will?

No, I didn't say that. Just some tips of why he is lame (normally players with less aids are better).

Not to start an argument, but how much track experience do you have? I did the two day ///M Drivers school at the Thermal Club in Palm Springs last spring, and it is what a whole host of professional racing drivers taught us. I have also attended 3 different local driving schools who all taught the same.
I am not implying that some drivers don't wrap their thumb. Nor saying it is a bad practice. I am just saying that wrapping your thumb around the wheel is not necessarily gaining anything. If the steering wheel is providing so much torque on your hands that you can't control it with your fingertips than you probably have bigger problems.
Here is a good example of driving with a 'loose' grip. Notice how the driver has a pretty firm grip on the straights, but once he starts getting into the corners and the tires start squealing he loosens up, often putting his thumbs up on the rim edge instead of wrapping around it.

And here is a short video I took while riding along with Johnathan Bomarito, notice how relaxed his grip is.

:boggled:

The videos you posted, you and your instructor get the thumbs through the wheel, like every one else. Exactly the opposite than GT Sport gameplay.

Why? Easy. You get more grip, comfort and safety when you have your thumbs through the wheel. Don't understand why you are defending GT Sport hand position.

"Collisions with other cars will lower the sportsmanship rating of both drivers"...

Not sure if I like that. Looks a bit lazy because they can't get a system done that knows who caused a collision.

Iracing does it that way. And it works. Is impossible to verify with an automatic system who has the fault in a crash.

I don't know man, in the cockpit, isn't that pretty loud? - sounds badass to my amateur ears.

And the rattling chassis :)))

It is; they've definitely got the sound of the car right, it's just that the transmission whine doesn't overpower the sound of the engine in the real car. Tweaking that should be pretty easy for PD to do.

I'm seeing no issue regarding the hand position.

@SlimCharles Of course it is possible to find examples of thumbs through the wheel, but you will also find a lot of examples of thumbs on the wheel instead. No sweat off my back if you can't see that. To me, PD did a good job with hand position.
