I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but give PD some time

I don't know if I'm the only one to think this, but I really am appreciating the attention to detail regarding sound design. I'm not talking about the engine/exhaust note in particular, but more about how they're emulating reality.

In almost all other racing games I have played, when a car travels over the curb you can hear the tires and curb interacting, but that's it. In GT Sport you also hear the chassis stress and creak just as a real stripped racing vehicle would.

The transmission sounds are also impressive, although they still need to be mixed better. Such as how the sequential transmission in the Mustang gr.4 now clicks and bangs with each shift.

Even the backfire sounds are striking. It's not a single loud bang, but a combination of gurgles and pops.

I guess it's the little things that impress me.

I think they intend to run GT6 and GTS at the same time. Thus, they are currently using P2P.
Are you implying that when GTS comes online that GT6 servers will shut down? I wouldn't think so but who knowns

No. I think they want to avoid having to turn GT6 off when GTS is released, and are using P2P for general multiplayer to service both GT6 and GTS at the same time.

For a game that's meant to be really heavy on the online focus, the netcode looks as though it's even worse than GT6.
It does seem to have issues in common with GT6, but appears as functional or more so than GT6 quick match on its best days. I'm not too worried. For folks with poor connections though.. I feel for you. If you're on wifi, get wired.

AC does a pretty good job at all of this. PCars too I think but I don't play it much.

When I got into AC (to kill time waiting for GT...) all of the squeaks, squeals, pops, crackles and rattles were unnerving at first. It's definitely not done as cleanly as PD would require, for example, so after a lifetime of sterile-ass GT it took some warming up to. Now I couldn't live without that stuff. I'm relieved and excited to see PD implementing this as they are. Not just to keep the GT driving experience from being brutally vanilla, but it seems maybe they are keeping an eye on the competition.

Hopefully that last point is true, and they took a good look at what makes driving in AC pure crack. With FFB even half as good as AC, this game will be slammin.
