A curious insight by NPD analyst Matt Piscatella:

I asked NPD analyst Mat Piscatella how something like Agents of Mayhem could have such a rough launch, and he said that most consumers are looking for something else in their games.

“The top-selling games in the console market at the moment are primarily service based games that promise significant, or even unlimited, hours of gameplay,” Piscatella explained in a note to GamesBeat. “Single-player, non-service based games have to be nearly perfect in execution not only with the game itself, but also in the marketing and promotion around the game, to get to the top of the charts. It is a very difficult market for the $60 single-player game to hit the volumes in a launch month that service based games can reach, even if they have been in the market for some time.”

Too bad that we have less than 3 weeks to go and GTS has yet to position itself clearly as a "game as a service" product.

Internet mutualistic marketing was/has been nice but there hasn't been a stronger positioning/messaging. I thought Champions League space would be a start but it seems that Horizon was only advertised there after its launch so who knows. And I was looking at games like GR Wildlands, Destiny 2 and Zelda and seemingly TV spots appeared within a week from launch. I've been seeing Fifa 18 ads this week on TV. So I suppose there's time.

I do fear it may fall like GT6 though, set aside by the active promotion of other brands (FIFA then Star Wars) by its own parent company.

Looking at the various previews from Germany, France, Tokyo etc., they all seem to be of a similar build, but with access/footage from different tracks. None have actually revealed anything new (well, apart from the odd car in TGS build), and certainly no official details regarding game structure, and basic nitty, gritty details.

I assume the upcoming Portugal event with Max will be the full blowout. And let's not forget, it's not just about what we're getting at launch, they also need to detail upcoming online competitions and plans, DLC etc.

The continued attempt to turn this into a vs. thread have once again been deleted and one member banned on the basis of continued attempts to do so.

We already have a number of vs threads, should that be what you wish to discuss then please use them and not drag other threads off topic.

For those interested, the UK Amazon steelbook exclusive is down to £49.99 from £57.99. Regular version is £46.00.

A guy have pre ordered GT Sport in PS Store and I can put the dynamic theme :

But I've watched for me, I have nothing.... Same thing for you ?

Nah, I don't believe. It's just a custom wallpaper. Dirty account. :yuck:

Steelbook is exclusively on Amazon and not in another shop in world?:confused::confused:

And i know this question sounds 1000+ times, but anybody can show where i can read about supported wheels?
Sorry, I know this won't help you much.

But in Australia there are 2 large retailers that are probably best for buying games.
EB Games and JB HiFi.
Quite often one will have an exclusive edition, and the other store will have something else.

For Project Cars 2, I pre-ordered through JB HiFi because they exclusively had the Deluxe Edition.
(Cheapest way to get both the Season Pass and Japanese pack)

For GTSport, you can only get the Collectors Edition through EB games. (sold out now, at least in my state).
But JB HiFi have the Steelbook Edition.

I'm surprised to hear it isn't a similar situation in other countries.

As for wheel support, there is no official list as yet.

I've preordered GT Sport from GAME.UK & judging from all the people saying that FIFA 18 & Destiny 2 hadn't turned up on release day (for some, it took a week for Destiny 2 to arrive) so now I'm not confident in preordering from GAME.UK.

Anyway, I've been reccomended to preorder GT Sport Steelbook edition on Amazon.uk, is Amazon.uk trustable? & where has everybody else preordered from? I'm starting to stress over something so silly because I feel like I'm not going to get GT Sport on release day. I don't know if this is the correct thread to be writing this in, if it's not then please move this. Thanks in advance.

Amazon is as reliable as it gets. Also very easy to monitor and alter your order details.

They usually price match other retailers, so if the price goes down after you ordered, they'll reduce it.

From my experience Amazon have always delivered on time.
