They should stop wasting time on gt-sport and better concentrate for a proper gran turismo 7.
With all features from gt 5 & 6 !!!

Not happening. Makes no sense AND its screwing over people that actually spent money on this game just to please the vocal Minority (Who still didn't seem to get the part where GT Sport was announced from the start not to be anything like the previous numbered games) only 7 months after its been released.

Hey all. I’m sure I’ve been tree’d on this but just wanted to get this out quickly just in case.

Am I going completely insane, or was this third version not in the game until like, today?

Wow really? more important than Mazda 787B a racing legend in racing game?looks like better fit to me...
It isn’t that simple. You have to account for the fact that they actually need the vehicle for reference in order to model it.

There’s thousands of SambaBusses. There’s only 1 (well, only one that everybody knows, #55) 787B. Sometimes it isn’t possible/cost efficient to model certain cars at certain times. PD has even said so themselves.

Furthermore, some of us were really disappointed that when the game came out, it lacked all the normal cars like past GTs, as it gives us a chance to drive cars we may have owned in the past. Other games take advantage of this nostalgia factor too. I can’t think of many mainstream games besides, maybeDirt or something, that don’t take advantage of this.

When you get a game that literally has a museum collection of almost every brand’s History, you can’t expect them to completely omit every important car from that company’s history.

For instance, I know that I love the Toyota TS020. Would I rather have it in the game than the 2000GT? Of course. But I’m glad that they made the choices they did, because it flows with their overall ethos for what the game should be, and adds some older, non-racing cars to a game that desperately needs that balance.

Not only that, but the 2000GT is a truly important car in not just Toyota’s history, but Japanese car history overall. If it weren’t for games like GT and Forza including cars like this, people my age would likely know nothing about them.

Think about how many odd cars you know about due solely to them being in a GT or Forza title. If they only put racecars in the game, wouldn’t it feel like you were missing out?

I would like to point out the 787B is essentially a car that was handed a win. It was not in anyway one of the fastest cars (way off in-fact), only reason it won was because many cars dropped out with unreliable engines built to FIA's F1-based formula (Because Bernie) and the car had a far better fuel efficiency. Being Japan's one and only win at Le Mans is not a terrible accomplishment but in the circumstances it got that win, I'd hardly call it a "racing legend".

To finish first, first you must finish- Juan Manuel Fangio

That applies to any forum of racing. The legendary status of the 787b, is due to it being a rotary. The little engine that outlasted the competition. Then again, what Le Mans winner doesn't have legendary status?

Why's your text blue

While on the subject of Le Mans, wouldn't it be nice to have that track in Gran Turismo Sport

I still can't believe we don't have so many tracks and no news of these tracks, maybe GT Sport
is just a Prologue/ half the game of other GT's just better looking and sounding

To be honest you don’t even need to win to attain that status. The TS020 is perhaps the most legendary car to not win.

Again, I'm not knocking the accomplishment. I just got the feeling the way the guy I was responding to was calling it a legend was one of those people that think the car was overpowered or dominating (or even believed in the classic myth that Rotaries were so powerful, that they were banned from Le Mans because of this win), which is the classic wrong way this car has "Legendary" Status.

Gotcha.

Mazda was also allowed to run their 787b's with a lower minimum weight in C2 class (830 kilos vs 880, if I recall correctly). That helped a bit.

By the way, HKS says a new Hipermax decal is now available in the livery editor.

Don't know when It was added, but it's nonetheless nice to see more official decals being featured in GTS.

It probably confused you because they moved most if not all of the Gr. 1 VGT variants into the VGT sections of each brand, it used to be in the normal section.

Wait so you're telling me they actually need the physical car to model it? So I'm guessing the new vantage, bmw m8, new bentley gt3, and 488 are long ways from being in the game? :( is there no chance at all?

If it's the grey one, that's been there for a minute.

Yep. They'd (laser?) scan the car, make mesh models of it, attach microphones in various places to record the sound, etc. etc. All in all a car takes around 6 man months to complete as someone said here before
