I have a question to those who keep complaining about GTS; whether be it the tire model, the throttle linearity, lack of content, or the penalty system: Why do you guys keep playing the game? I get it that it helps to complain every now and then; I'm no exception to that, but sometimes I feel like all some people ever do is complain about the game and never enjoy it. What makes you still go ahead and play GTS despite all the, in your guys' opinion, crap it gives you?

Is it that you are still playing in the hopes that GTS will eventually fix everything? Or are you simply "hate-playing" (playing so you can complain about the game)? I mean, some of the most prominent complainers I see are actually A+ players, or have over 1000 races, so it's not like they just go to this forum and complain; they still actually play the game. Why so?

I'm curious

Sunk cost. Also for all its flaws its clearly the best out of the console racers. Its like the GT6 situation a year in... its not 100% reflective of the game at the end.

There's also that tantalising promise that the big update is "Just around the corner" and all the content and fixes we've been wanting will be in the next patch.

I see. So it's because these people have high expectations of the game that's why they're complaining? Hmm, how about staying away from the game and come back when an update rolls around? I see a few people do this; don't like the current patch so they move away and only check again when there's anew update.
I mean, Assetto Corsa and PCARS 2 are there with all the features that everyone wants minus the eyecandy. And because the sims don't try to appeal to casuals, there are a whole ton of private leagues that run in these sims which can effectively replace Sport mode for those who like it. It also comes with human stewarding, another complaint that I keep seeing

Well I also feel that people dont feel like their money is being well served... like you can see it when the game went down for half a day... if I paid $60 for this and my PSN+ and I couldnt play it then I would feel that I should get a refund.

There's also a few who feel that they are 'owed' content since they paid full price for a game, why not get a full game's content?

I'm ok with these people really... its human nature to be impatient. I think this whole industry is like this... eg. I bought a game for Xmas on the proviso that they would release a huge content update in January.

They now say its due end of July (sound familiar?) - I'm ok with it. I paid not much for that game and I didnt pay much for GTS. My gaming life doesnt revolve around these two games. End of July is fine with me.

Ahhh I see your point. So, for repetition, it's that these complainers feel like the $60 they spent for the game isn't worth for what they got?

I think its even more than that... people bought a PS4 and maybe a wheel kit and all that just for driving games. I really feel for people who have a setup like this and PD broke it in an update and took a while to fix.

Sure its about the game price but also everything you need to run it including PSN.

For me I bought a PS3 just to play GT5/6 and I had a couple of other minor games to go along with it. It was worth it.

If my whole setup is laying idle because PD arent doing their job then yeah, I'd be a tad upset.

I absolutely love this game, despite the problems with the penalty system. And it works in general, it's just those few moments every other race where your race gets screwed because of the game. I've been a fan of GT since 1999 so I'll never abandon ship. I still remember all those years waiting for GT5...

I feel the same way! It’s part of me growing up I’ll never give up on this game!

All the features minus eyecandy and controller playability don't you mean? Heck I'm not a casual racer and I despise Assetto Corsa. It is not a worthy substitute for Sport Mode in my opinion. I see Project Cars 2 being the better game for private leagues, as those who are fast on a controller (like me) and know how to tune can actually compete with wheel users. ANYHOW it seems hypocritical to say that the game is crap when you still play it.

So it just so happens that what you post on GTP are the few times that it wasn't a good moment? Glad to see that you're enjoying the game in general though :D I can see why you'd post complains than the good things more often than not, because it's not what works that is worth sharing about, but rather what doesn't work. I guess I can say this for myself as well. For all my babble about Group C's inclusion in Gr. 1, I still find that class one of the most enjoyable to play in

Sorry included PC2 in the post as well :) what I mean in general is that there's other games (or simulators) that have the features that GTS doesn't, and the sims you and I mentioned are fertile ground for private leagues that is an ample replacement for Sport mode

Hey guys, might anyone tell me what exactly the difference is between Daily Races at the FIA Races? Like the Nations and Manufacturers Cup?

Hey guys, might anyone tell me what exactly the difference is between Daily Races at the FIA Races? Like the Nations and Manufacturers Cup?
The Daily Races are a set of 3 races to which the new happen every 2 P.M, 2:10 P.M for Race B (UTC+7). The matchmaking is based on your SR points.

There is Race A, which is a short One-Make Race featuring an N class car that is provided to the player by the game, they were held every 00, 20, and 40 minutes, and they usually use standing starts and have a capacity of 12 players max.

Then we got Race B, which is another sprint race, this time you have to provide your own car, and here is where you can find the racing classes of GT SPORT, usually Gr.4 or Gr.3, but other racing classes (and sometimes One-Makes) can also be held here. The races are held in every 10, 30, and 50 minutes, and has the capacity of 16 players max.

Race C is a mini-Endurance race with Tyre Wear and Fuel Consumption enabled. They usually last longer than Race A or Race B due to having more laps. Here, you have to plan a strategy to win instead of outright speed (outright consistency still applies here). There will be racing classes occupying this spot, although One-Makes can still appear here. Races are held in every 00 and 30 minutes, and can occupy up to 20 players max.

The FIA races are much longer than Race C found in the Daily Race section. They generally lasts 40 minutes, and you will be matched with players who has the same DR and SR points as yours. The Qualifying portion of an FIA race is in the event itself, rather than a separate Time Trial like in Daily Races, and said Qualifier is a 10 minute session with all of the players inside the lobby on the track at the same time. You can choose one of the 5 available timeslots, but you can only enter one per race. At the end of every FIA race, you will get points based on your finishing position plus your DR points and the strength of the field, and you can get double points for participating the elusive Top 24 Superstars race, open to the best of each Country (Nations Cup) or Manufacturer (Manufacturer Series), and it will be the longest Sport Mode race with 55 minutes in its total duration. There are 8 rounds in a season, and can occupy the same amount of players as Race C (except for Top 24 Superstars to which the maximum capacity is in the name itself).

Yes. At the 6 pods near the future lab, you can win a ps4 Pro and a copy of the game every day if you set the fastest lap.
That's good of them, too much sport on at the time so gave it a miss this year and bit of a mission to get to as well. Might go back again if they get the Valkyrie. Probably the best car event anywhere in the world.

Did you get to talk to many top racing drivers? Any secret GTers?

Well congratulations Polyphony or whoever made this gt sport another game on the market which is so hard it borders impossible or say well above most normal humans capabilities.
Mission Challenge stage 4 number 1 and 2. Number 1 just overtake more than about 3-4 cars and find it impossible to catch the rest, simple as that after 30 attempts so moved on to number 2 with the Alfa 4c iirc where you have to catch the car a lap in front, ok I can catch it and overtake it but I always fail as the car does not go fast enough to do it in the allotted time. 2nd GT Sport to enter the bin what a waste of time and money these last couple of GT games have been.
Won't be buying the next one.
Rant over.
Peace.

It's really not that hard, I'm sorry.

The only one that took me a few tries was the Bugatti Veyron top speed challenge. Even then, I only retried so many times so I can beat my friends' top speeds.

Which I did, set a 252.0mph

Crazy as it is I had done that one with the Veyron just turned down the TC to zero everything else off and did gold 250. something, only took a few attempts.
To me it is impossible to do 1 and 2 I just cannot do it if I go quicker I slide and lose a lot of time. No worries it is only a game which drove me nuts for a short while. I won't be losing any sleep over it.
I just wanted from the start a difficulty slider for the less capable like me but I doubt that's ever going to happen so I have to accept I can't do it for what ever reason and forget about it.
My main grump is what ever game I seem to buy in todays market they all seem to be getting harder and harder , what ever happened to games like Zool on the Amiga for instance where you could plod along wasting away a few hours and not really struggle with it.
I want to have fun not frustration with a game.

It doesn't say what I am incredible at though does it ;)

If he doesn't like it don't force him to play it. I commend him for being able to quit and play another game, instead of playing while hating it and complaining all the time. It takes something else for one to do that, given how rare these people seem to be

I just find it pointless playing it if your not enjoying it.
I am old now and prefer sitting with a coffee in my hand and laughing at how hard games are or how bad I have become at games.
No interest in chomping at the bit for hours only to sit back and say Yes I did it, these days I am so relaxed I just think ahh bugger it what's on sky sports.
Peace to all.

Nah man. I'm one of the first to give up on getting the gold trophy on GT5/6 but GT Sport mission challenges dont get hard until the end at stage 8.

Surely people remember Ascari Veyron to graduate your license in GT6.

Further, PD nerfed some races to make them easier post update which was the opposite to GT6.

They made the handling model harder and they didnt think the change the AI at the same time.

I mean I know people who have put 300 hours into fall out and then say it sucks. WHY !?! If you don't like something stop playing it. Science has shown people who identify a sunk cost and ditch it is significantly smarter than those who stick with a sunk cost. Heck sunk cost denial is a major contributor to poor business/life decisions. If I buy a game for 60$ and I don't like it is going to sell it for 50$ on eBay and walk away. There are some who insist they are going to get their money worth out of something that they legitimately can't enjoy. Like just move on.

Unless you buy the digital copy
