Everyone's taking all sorts of things with all kinds of salt in this thread as is, and we don't even have that much official stuffs.

I've sent them the same question on their verified FB page, it does look legit but incase they answer back then we'll have confirmation.

If you consider GT Concept TG as a spin off so it is cheaper.

So what, you still think GT Sport is a "real episode" or that it's a lesser content, prologue/concept type game? It can't really be both.

"Real" doesn't mean there will be a lot of content.

On a prologue version, we have the impression of playing a big demo.

This will not be the case for GT Sport. So, I consider GT Sport as a real episode.

This is not the case for you? That is your opinion.

I believe I've mentioned this more than once but it bears repeating. At this point we really know almost nothing about the game so to claim, "this will not be the case with GT Sport", is a claim that you can't make with any degree of certainty. If it is only an opinion you should clearly phrase it that way.

Bla bla bla....

Was Forza 5 a full game (~300 cars/15? tracks + layouts)? Was AC 1.0 (non-early access, discounted price) a full game (60 cars counting all modifications and 10 tracks + layouts)? Or was it Project Cars a full game (70? cars / 30 tracks + layouts)?

GT6 was released at discounted price. Had like 400 cars, 10 new tracks. Was that a full game?

We can go back to Jim Ryan's statement and GTP's info (all marketing spiel though, not useful, am I right?), even though logic inference and textual comprehension is not the strong suit here.

"The old days, when the games were offline, the experience was defined by what's on the disc. You had a distinction between a Prologue and a full GT, it was very stark. When the game becomes more of an online connected experience, that distinction blurs. This will be much more than a Prologue type experience."

In other words: Yeah, it's going to be an update/DLC kind of thing, and you likely won't see the cardinalities you've come to expect.

GTPlanet can confirm that GT Sport will include three distinct game modes: “Campaign”, “Sports Mode”, and “Arcade Mode”.

“But it’s not just about online racing; the GT teams have continued to build on the games legacy of accessibility to ensure that the game is open to all to enjoy.”
— PlayStation Blog

Whilst at the same time, it will have the depth and complexity to meet the expectations of the existing Gran Turismo fans.”

All statements together seemingly point to a "new" model (from old plans).

Some people have a problem understanding the distinction between "seemingly point to" and, "will be", or, "will not be". It's an important distinction in a forum with a set of rules that prohibits posting that is "false, misleading or innaccurate".

It was not.

Only in Brazil then. Alright.
Confirming it was not discounted everywhere: https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-6-preorder-guide/

Offhand executive statements and marketing blurbs about every GT game made in the past decade have generally not been very useful, no.

Sure, contingencies.

I don't really have a horse in this race but this line is completely wrong. GT6 launched at full price, and even had the anniversary edition that was more than standard full price, it had ~1200 cars, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it didn't have anywhere near 10 new tracks...

Yeah, above shows some places got below full price deals, and some did not, correct.
~400 cars of course are the premiums, and 7 new tracks according to their website. Goodwood, Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Willow Spring, GT Arena, Matterhorn, Ascari.

My brother picked up a used PS2 yesterday because our old one is completely buggered, and I wanted to play GT4. Problem is, the disc was ridden with scratches so I couldn't play it. So I decided to play GT3 instead and bloody hell that AI is relentless! I had an epic duel in a Subaru Impreza WRX STi 22B Rally Car on Smokey Mountain, winning the race within 0.2 of a second. Pretty much all the races I went in last night were so much fun and so close it's unbelievable how PD have gone backwards in this department. GT Sport better have some AI on this level or my time with the game will be quite boring and easy.

Those were special pre-order deals at some places, you can't use that as proof that the game didn't retail at full price...

I'm not? I said "Yes, above shows some places got below full price deals, and some did not, correct." As in "You are correct".
I assumed it had been released at a discounted price because I purchased as such at launch. Ameer67 corrected me. I found confirmation for his statement and I reaffirmed the agreement with your post.

Ah my mistake, I thought, from how you worded it, that you were sticking by your original statement. My bad.

Gran Turismo is one of the main sponsors of Tokyo Auto Salon, we can only hope that they will have a stand.

They sponsored Pikes Peak last year and they're one of few games that still don't contain the track. They sponsor series and events full of cars but they don't come to the game.

As GTPorsche says, sponsorship means that they're sponsoring the event and nothing more.

I bought Limited Edition with Apex II book ( in english ) for about 40 US dollars ( pre-order, got my hands on it not long after release date - shipping time was bad ), I also got 1 million credits bonus, and 15th Anniversary cars, and it's Asian region ( JP printed disc and book ) I consider it as not a full price at that time, a bargain I think :P

Pricing may be regional policies, but some other games were released in 50 - 60 US dollars range full price ( Asian region ), my MGS V Phantom Pain Day one Edition was about 45 US dollars ( also Asian reg )
