-They said the sound is not much different from GT6.

If they bring up that placeholder BS I quit.
Rather still have placeholder hope and that they're still working on something high quality to show than similar to GT6 level is what they're proud to show. Kaz did say to me a while back that major update to the sound will be coming in GT7. I do hope that it makes it in time for full GT SPORT release and it is "major".

Well, late to the pre-festivities. Sorry, but couldn't wake up this morning.

I like taking a look back at those moments that touched us deep in our pleasure centers, and for me, the one game that did that in some ways more than GT6 is GT4. Here are the best of my finds garnered from various sources back in late4 spring 2004. For some reason the aspect ratio of a few are squashed.

I'm surprised that these videos are slightly better than what I discovered on the net yesterday, looking for improved quality examples. Evidently my hard drive has been a good stasis chamber to preserve these videos in their best quality. I'm hoping that GT Sport puts these in their low rez places. ;) So, without further ado, here are the rest of my GT4 E3 teasers.

GT4 Arcade Car Select

GT4 Prologue - Grand Canton Challenge

GT4 Prologue - Citta Di Aria Challenge. This is one of my favorite tracks in GT4, and a booger to get right.

GT4 Trailer 1. The song is "Santeria Antillana" by Sun Paulo.

(I thought I'd move the rest down to my other post, because those YT windows look so cool.) ;)

Oh, I see it now, Kaz said a sound update is coming in GT7, but see, GT Sport is not GT7, therefore no sound update this time. Have to wait another 5 years for GT7 to bring it. All the pieces are finally in place, Kaz redeemed.

I have to say, it was pretty hilarious reading the post here about "they tested an oval track with GT3 cars", and how some users thought it was Gran Turismo 3 cars LOL. I thought it was Gran Turismo 3 myself. I don't think Polyphony would do something silly, like putting car models from 2001 in a next gen game.

They tested an oval track with GT3 cars.
-They are impressed with the graphics.
-They said the sound is not much different from GT6.
-The physics are tuned similar in all cars for the oval test but they seem not to impressed (no details given).
-They commented about a flag system during races.

They can't disclose GTS details or do public reviews and are waiting for the real competition tomorrow to make a valid judgement. Today they only tested a limited GTS beta with apparently two tracks.

Will hopefully find out tomorrow on how status of things are and/or on Friday at Q&A session with Kaz. There are a lot of members of GTPlanet going to event including staff so someone's likely to get an answer if sound turns out to be still bad.

Mike Caviezel is on a secret mission issued by Dan Greenawalt himself to infiltrate PD and make GT's sounds even worse confirmed.

In all seriousness - yeah, I wouldn't put too much stock in first impressions quite yet, especially with regards to sound. Not that I'm expecting genre-topping changes, but I'd wait for some direct-feed video before judging.

Now, if only there was somewhere to find that...

I thought I'd move the other four videos down to my subsequent post. And so I get to say again, "Wait, there's MORE!" :D

GT4 Trailer 2. This overview of the making in a music video format is backed by the ending song for GT3's Asian version, the title of which is eluding me unfortunately.

GT4 Trailer 3. This features what I think is the original mix of "What To Believe" by Dakota Star, and my favorite. It showed off the vast scale of GT4 wonderfully.

GT4 Trailer 4. This is the video I watched as much as any of them, as it features a segment of Synthetic's rendition of "Moon Over The Castle," a song I had never heard before! I was so naive in 2004. :P But short though it be, it grabbed me by the guts like no other GT4 video, and very few videos since.

And here's a bonus, the Vision Gran Turismo video from E3 2008 or '09, supported by Boom Boom Satellite's stirring "Rise And Fall." Excuse the listing as GT4, but it's someone else's.

I wanted to state my wishes for GT Sport's content. And I hate to say it, but sound isn't high on my urgency list. Anyhow...

Cars suited to Super Touring.

Alfa Romeo 155; Mercedes Benz E190 Evo II; Opel Calibra, Astra, Carlton; Renault Laguna, etc.

Cars akin to GT4 spec

Aston Martin Vantage; Audi TT; BMW M3, Z4; Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette;Honda Civic, Accord, S2000; Ford Focus, Mustang; Ginetta G50, G55; Lotus Elise, Evora; Maserati Gran Trofeo; Mazda RX7, RX8; Nissan 350Z, 370Z; RUF/Porsche 997; Toyota GT86, Supra; etc.

GT2 in two variations 1990s era, 2000s

Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford GT, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes Benz, RUF/Porsche, Viper, etc

JGTC, Super GT, BTCC, WTCC, ALMS, LMPs and other prototypes

'Nuff said. And I'd love to be more detailed but I'm running out of steam.

Tracks: everything possible, even prettied up stuff made with Course Maker. Standard tracks work for me, fold out trees and all. Just gimme that content!

Surprised at number 1, I never realised Deep Forest was that popular.

Anyway, my predictions for what Is revealed tomorrow based on nothing at all but my thoughts:

Mostly complete GT3 car lineup
Half a dozen top WTCC cars
FIA Championship Karts (start point)
Quite a lot of other WEC cars, current year LMP1/2
1 generic/unpainted Formula E car

London Battersea Park Formula E track
Mexico Hermanos Rodriguez
Circuit of the Americas
Paul Ricard
Hockenheimring

And going very bold....Porsche.

Let's see how many I can tick off!

I doubt even one of those things will be true

I assume Oscar Ruiz and friends are saying impressions after the event? Anyone here that can translate?

They said that they tested GT3's at an oval and that there's another track and street cars available to choose, they also said that the graphics are impressive and very fluid, but the sounds were not that different to GT6's.

And they saw an in-game flag system in action and they liked it.
