Not really, no. iRacing has had a similar spectator mode for years, and the pro series is usually commentated.

The fancy graphics are cute (actually, they're brilliant, I really like them), but that's about it.

Apart from watching a commentated race on iRacing, you can also act as your friend's spotter, or join the race as a ghost.

Fair enough; I stand corrected. But it is really something that needs to be in more games.

Sure, it's a nice feature. But there's not that many racing games that get used as e-sports. The value to the developers isn't really there unless they're specifically pushing e-sport. And on consoles if they're not using a central server architecture it's just more stress on the P2P network.

If you look at other genres like MOBAs or RTSes where professional e-sports is more of a big thing, then you see that they have far more comprehensive spectator modes.

I'm impressed that Polyphony identified early that good streaming capabilities are key to a successful e-sport though. Some companies don't get it.

Here's the new pace cars (AMG GT-S and M4 Coupe)!! :D

Would love to see the R34 Pace car as well, also, here's the booty of the mustang (better quality) and the Evo X as well (both confirmed as Gr.B cars) :D

That was you? I thought you were Kyle Patrick. Or did Matej write it and then send it to you for editing?

I'm the Editor-In-Chief. Articles don't get put up until I have a look at them (other than a few exceptions).

So, he's quite fast then?

I honestly didn't pay too much attention as to whether they were other players or AI, but if what you're saying is correct, and that is AI. Then it sounds like it would be a good improvement.
He's very fast. How fast he can be in that environment with unfamiliar equipment I don't know but he looks very smooth and in control to me. I only watched snippets of the race but I suspect that level of AI will more than challenging for the majority of GT players. Most important for me is that their pace in the corners seems decent. Still not on the level pacewise of Assetto Corsa or Project Cars but it's still very good. Hopefully we get some first hand impressions from him later on.

Either the Ferrari driver's feets to pedals reaction time is way slow or the AI... well, is that not fast? I gotta start training then.

I wasn't commenting on the speed, I just noticed how they all follow the same line making it easy for the guy to pass them without much hassle & the fact that it still looks like a chase the rabbit setup again.
But unless we can get an answer from someone who is there to confirm this i'm just guessing.
However I hope they've ditched that form of racing.

Well then, I guess that might be good news! And yeah... I won't be nearly that fast and precise with my controller lol
