Kaz was there on the stream but when he went on stage to talk the stream ended for some reason.

Tho I do not see a livery editor of any kind coming until standards are completely gone.
GTS being the first GT on a new system, and with GT fans having waited so long for even a taste of new gen GT, I'd be surprised if it doesn't sell more than 6 million units regardless of how good or bad it actually is.
Surprise, it wasnt exatly the "real modification" in the first place (GT5). When race modded, your car are replaced with the race ready models (Which is actually the whole point of Race Mods since GT1). Knowing that said model can boost the car count, PD decided to make it all purchasable instead in GT6 as touring/race cars.I have long believed Kaz's love for the Standards are what "held back" better customization of the cars. We were treated to Race Mods again in GT5, yet it disappeared with GT6. I believe Standards were the culprit for this.
My personal expectations are that GTS will not have the Standard cars in it and as a result, the much requested livery editor makes it's first appearance.
GTS will be oriented motorsport. Very unlikely that there will be a livery editor in this episode.
Maybe more the likely in that case? Looking at the "confirmed car list" so far just based on the only trailer we have, the majority of the confirmed cars are completely base models with absolutely no livery or motorsport relation. Very odd to me for a game that is solely supposed to focus on racing motorsport.
I don't really know what they are aiming at with GTS but I really don't foresee the whole general concept of Gran Turismo changing. Maybe we don't see a livery editor yet... but I do think it has a good chance
Gran TurismoHi Alexandre, while GT Sport is not the 7th episode of the main series, it's more in depth than a Prologue. It is designed to focus on motor sport, as the name suggests, and online racing will be an important element. émoticône smile
Given that liveries have been an integral part of just about every form of Motorsport since the '60's/'70's it should be far more likely that it will have one.GTS will be oriented motorsport. Very unlikely that there will be a livery editor in this episode.
Yes, we know it's focusing on motorsport, but that doesn't automatically tell us there won't be a livery editor. Liveries are a very important part of motorsport; it represents the team the car is running for and makes it easy to tell one car from the other. I agree with @Scaff on this one. I'd think they would put it in there, or at least a wide range of liveries.Gran Turismo Facebook :

Worst case scenario would be like the Super GT's on current GT6 where each team counts as one car.Given that liveries have been an integral part of just about every form of Motorsport since the '60's/'70's it should be far more likely that it will have one.
At the very least a wide range of liveries for each car would be needed to stop the field looking like a bunch of clones, particularly if they are looking at this as a form of FIA sanctioned eSports.
I think there will probably only official cars/teams.
I find it unlikely that PD are going to be able to licence every single team livery for every car, as that will not be part of the FIA licence (but rather will come from the teams), as such it would be nice to have the option for either a well done range of 'fake' liveries mixed in with the real ones (as per PCars) or the ability to create them ourselves.I think there will probably only official cars/teams.
So actual liveries, which the vast, vast majority of Motorsport series competitors have is something worth mocking, but number plates (which aside from cars running under rally regulations do not appear on the vast majority of motorsport vehicles). So much for the real car wrap advertisement and design simulator tagline.
I'm done with people stifling my creativity.
It would be nice if there were different paint colors and number plating though.

I seriously don't get this anti-livery editor stance at all, and its even more ironic given that we are just coming to the end of the three month period in which the Motorsport community does the rounds unveiling new cars and liveries?
No, sod that, lets just stick with single colours and slap some number plates on them!

My fear is that GT7 will actually regress from any progress GTS makes as soon as they go to add back in all the old features, especially by increasing the car count and including (assumingly) standards again.
So you mean Driver number? Well why not say that in the first place, I mean its not like saying you can pick a colour and a number plate could possibly be interpreted in any other way now is it?You mean those actual liveries that are tied to whatever visual brand (or in some cases, motifs) the main sponsor and/or team has, with stickers from part suppliers and series sponsors that have guidelines on how to be applied through the car, along with number plating that appears in the vast majority (I'd say all but you never know) motorsports and usually follows a standard for all cars in a series (containing the series main sponsor, same font, same colors depending on car contrast) and bought-in advertisement? I know, I'm not opposed to those.
So someone else could get to pick a livery and sponsorship for a car by effectively paying for it? Interesting idea. It'd surprise me if that was included in some form, such as a FIA-sanctioned, Mazdaspeed-sponsored Miata series where companies/teams/people could buy in advertisement/sponsor drivers somehow.
Why not? After all if you float the idea you have above of outside companies/teams/people buying in livery designs then why could we not do it ourselves as well. But "I couldn't find a sponsor so I drew a cougar" just like Hamilton did last season? Not sure about that.
It does indeed, but if you want to create an FIA eSports racing league (or leagues) then it falls well short (and was done by Sega way back in 2002).If the problem was identifying objects, color and number are two visual codes with more permutations than I can count on my fingers.
I'm not sure if I would be happy at having to pay to have a livery of my own design on a virtual car however, but then again we did get charged for single use paints in the past.
For the most part,
Race cars = liveries
Street legal cars = no liveries
Why wouldn't GTS, a Motorsport focused title, have a livery editor?
Just because the last games didn't, doesn't mean there won't be one. Not saying there will be, but just saying that it's not impossible.Probably because the last 6 had racing cars and motorsport licenses and also didn't have an editor
I agree. What you said makes perfect sense . . . however, what the FB account said is what casts doubt in my mind. Saying that "everyone" needs to be happy makes me believe we wont have a livery editor or even the ability to make race teams (which I imagine would be an amazing idea, designing your own livery and making your own race team) because they keep saying "race for a manufacturer".For the most part,
Race cars = liveries
Street legal cars = no liveries

I imagine any car maker wouldnt like the idea of John Doe winning the FIA prize racing for a team with expletives in their name and dirty images on the team vinyls we make with the livery editor.
