No you didn't. You chose to.

No need to apologize!

But really, you're looking at it all wrong. There's no need for it to be "moving over" to another franchise. GT's feelings aren't going to be hurt if you enjoy more than one driving game at a time.
agreed more racing games the better

Yes, I know, that's why I posted it in that post in the exact sentence that I mentioned it. Still, that says nothing about whether or not EA just jumped right on and snagged it up again. It's all very odd, considering that there was basically no new cars to come from the Porsche expansion, most of it was brought over from previous games, making it seem like someone still might be pulling all the strings and having some sort of restriction on it. Much like T10 has always handled it with EA in the past, it seems to flow along the exact same way this time around as it has since FM4, leading me to believe nothing is changing.
Your logic is/was (in first paragraph) that you believe the license expired because Porsche returned to FM.
Then, (second paragraph) you said you don't think it's up for grabs, or was already reacquired by EA.
Which logically must mean T10's inclusion of Porsche has nothing to do with license expiration.

Which if we follow logic further, wipes the theory the license already expired clean, because it was stated "exactly" as intended, and it was stated that the inclusion of Porsche in FM indicates contract expiration.

Correct.

Incorrect.

There have been some rumblings behind the scenes – with companies that aren't T10 – that EA's stranglehold is done. But until we get proof one way or the other, the only parties that truly know that would be EA and Porsche. T10's Porsche pack could be the same sub-license approach that they've had to negotiate with EA three times now, or it could be that Porsche is finally back to playing ball like the majority of the other automakers.

It could go either way.

time to play the waiting game it seems i hope Porsches come to gran tursmio eventually

Here is another crazy theory;

As the next gen consoles will come out in 2019(supposedly), and GTSport will come out this year(supposely too). so GT7 wiil come out near in the end of PS4's life cycle. So maybe this time we'll get only 1 "main" GT in this generation?

Hope this theory is crazy enough to be on the match with others here.

I typically don't switch to the new generation until about a year or two years after release, so if this theory were true, it wouldn't bother me so long as they continue to properly support it after it releases.

Lord knows how long we'd be waiting on GT 8 for the PS5 :lol::lol:

wich manufactorers could we choose in the manufactorers cup? Nissan and Nissan? :nervous:

For what it is worth…

This would be fine if they had the idea of the game as an ongoing and continually updated service, as DC seems to be headed...

No, not necessarily.

Doubt it. I would imagine that they picked it up right back again and likely nothing will change. Either way, it likely already did expire as T10 has released their Porsche Expansion last week.
My logic in the first paragraph was that I feel that EA still holds the license, and that the method that T10 used is likely the method they've always used to get this maker into the game, which was to sub-license them through EA like has been done since FM4. My logic was also that even if it did expire, they likely snatched it back up again. The bold part is wrong on my part, apologies.

Then, (second paragraph) you said you don't think it's up for grabs, or was already reacquired by EA.

I could have, and should have worded it better. My logic follows the notion that every time the Porsche pack is released the same rumors of EA's licensing being done pops up as well, and that I feel nothing was changing to how things have been done in the past. Still, nothing new has been said about what's going on, so as it sits, its all just a guessing game, and this is my guess.

Your assumption that EA would snatch up the licence. It takes two to tango. They can only renew if Porsche allow it. I'm not saying that hasn't happened, just pointing out that it is wrong to assume it has.

It's just as wrong as you assuming that it hasn't. Neither of us are wrong here, until they come out with some more information.

I would say that following a track record, it's not too far off for me to assume that, though. It's rather easy to think the same that has been happening for the past 10+ years is likely to continue. I'd hope to be pleasantly surprised though.

I was thinking about that the other day and I think it's really plausible.

I don't think that Sony will make the same mistake as they did with the PS3 and its really long life cycle, specially since those new consoles are like PC nowadays (easy to design, easy to develop, more and more backwards compatible). So 2019 for the PS5 seems reasonable.

In november, the PS4 will be 3 years old, if we are lucky we will have our prologue (GT Sport). If we are still really lucky GT7 could follow one year later, in november of 2017. If this happens, they could release a GT8 on PS4 meanwhile the PS5 is launched in 2019 "ala GT6" but I don't think they will do that again (low sale, a PS5 without a GT in the first year...again). So for me it's really plausible that we will only see one major release on PS4.

Still to me, this all sounds like such terrible marketing and strategy for any company, let alone one which is on such time constraints due to technology. Gran Turismo is "supposed" to be Sony/PD flagship title and they treat it like it's nothing... then when a new one does finally come out it takes the risk of being stale because of other competitors already doing the same things in the market or at times doing more (i.e. Livery editor, track editors, etc.). A new iteration of GT should have been released by the side of the PS4 launch or at least shortly after.

EDIT: I really feel like R* had excellent planning with Grand Theft Auto on the PS4/XONE. It released near the beginning of the new generation, and continues to receive HEAVY support and following still.

It's exactly what i think. I don't get why Sony and PD will make the same mistake again.

Complacency and arrogance.
Of course I have no idea why a company so large would want to sit on such a cash cow, being that the GT series has brought in roughly (very) 2 billion dollars in sales.
They can't make those dollars if they don't make games.
Furthermore, they made roughly double the sales income in their first 9 years as the last 10 years.
