...You mean, a non-executive director.

I too understand the feelings of the fans. Hell, I'm one myself. But I disagree with spamming non-responsive social media accounts with questions when we all know no clear answers are forthcoming.

Instead... I'm playing Zelda on SNES. Seems more like a productive use of my time. :P

Not sure of the significance of non-executive director? The PD site lists it like this: Board member>Shu Yoshida>Director.

I'm happy you're happy. I now feel it time to call them out about this.

I could have been playing GT5 the last 2.5 years to tide me over but I had to sell the PS3 to purchase the PS4. Which meant missing out on GT6. Given we are now in March 2016 and virtually nothing of substance has been said or shown of GTS I'm a little bitter now. I expected things to improve after the problems of GT5. My bad.

GT5 got a large amount of flak for coming out 4 years(NA)/3.5(UK) after PS3 launch and if GTS makes it by the end of this year it would be 3 years. For me this is unacceptable given GTS is said to be a smaller non-mainline GT game developed on a much simpler and easier to program system.

It would be easy to say if I'm unhappy move over to PC or AC, but I don't won't to, or feel, I should. I love GT.

If that makes me the problem, I apologise to this forum. :)

I'm really happy I didn't anticipate a GT release for the new systems this time around.
I would say ironically that GT, while being one of the best selling console exclusives, is actually one of the worst exclusives to purchase a console for.

I can't believe this thread has been getting so much mileage. It almost hurts skimming through this every couple days. We just really need some info. Anything at all. Sorry another potentially pointless post. :(

No you didn't. You chose to.

No need to apologize!

But really, you're looking at it all wrong. There's no need for it to be "moving over" to another franchise. GT's feelings aren't going to be hurt if you enjoy more than one driving game at a time.

When you put it like that... I agree that the idea and application of "eSports" in regards to racing competitions and the likes will not remain Sony based. There is no reason for it to and it will eventually branch out to other platforms. The way you posted previously, I disagree with because Gran Turismo will probably cease to exist before it is a non-PS exclusive.

Nobody can possibly know what deal or offers or earning, etc. are offered with GT Sport, Nissan's partnership, FIA etc. when nothing new has been released news wise. We can only speculate at this point, but I personally don't think the rewards will be any different than previous

another possibility is, that GT Sport will become Multi Platform and another, GT6 - like Version stay PS exclusive.
Since GT6, there changes a lot. And one thing is the technology inside the console. In the past when you want do develop for both - PS3 and PC - it was a big impact. Thats different on PS4. After Driveclub, Project Cars and maybe Assetto Corsa - GT Sport (or GT7) will be one Number of many similar arcade racing "games" on PS4. It have to go very new ways to stay a special thing.

Joke post right ??? it has to be :dopey::boggled: PD a pure Sony own First party company is gonna be making a multi-platform game

Unless Sony also own a PC OS departement like Microsoft, i cant see it will happen.

What? Why? That just sounds impractical...
i do not mean, that the robocars would be driven by the eRacers. i mean that i think the future of racing as entertainment go a way, that additional to racing entertainment like now there come 2 new ways: full autonom robocars like i heard something like this from Formel E. And another new entertainment market with eSport.
I don't know how this 3 entertainment lines will connect to each other, but the time of only racer driven cars is over.

The last 100 years a powerful car was a big status symbol and wathing dangerous Racing in TV was big entertainment.
The next 100 years would be very different in this case. Real dangerous Racings are not longer possible and if eSport become a Mass Market where everyone could attend - then he also watch the Final of "his League" on TV.

maybe - but if they stick on the strategy from past - Gran Turismo will loose a lot of share in the Playstation Market.
i do not see how GT should become much better than the other titles on PS4 coming from PC.

Answer me this when was the last time you saw a Sony first party game on PC?

It doesn't matter how damage the gt series maybe its never gonna be on the PC unless PD does a insomniac and becomes independent /3rd party

if we only talk about GT as a video game - then you would be right.
but i hope we could talk about GT as eSport in the Future and not as a video game.

The only way GT Sport is going multi platform is when it will be made available to play on ipads, pcs and smart tvs etc through the PS Now service.

Edit. Looks like I'm lttp.

Don't no what eSport is? But i'm sure that if you ever see a gt game on eSport damn sure is gonna be played on a PS console PS4/PS5/PS6

Do you have a time machine or something? How can you know the way things will go? Real "dangerous" racing
has been around since the motorcar was invented, what makes you think its going anywhere, especially considering it generally speaking gets safer every year?

Yes eSports will become bigger but that doesn't mean that it will become this massive thing that everyone will watch, only people who will follow GTSport as eSport will be gtfans not random people that haven't heard of that game.

Time of only racacer driven cars is not over, why? Because people like to race, not A.I. robots also people like to watch other people race.

Even if eSports takes off and becomes huge that doesn't mean it will replace "traditional" racing

Not unless there somehow becomes an advantage to Sony to do so.

MS can do it because there's potentially an advantage to them to push certain aspects of PC gaming. Sony has nothing similar.

I'll expect to see multiplat games out of Sony on the day that they no longer manufacture gaming hardware.

Well when a PC (Windows) and XBox One segment are all owned by one conpany, its ought to happen especially with "one Windows 10 for all devices" philosophy.

The most infuriating thing is that this is, on paper at least, shaping up to be a rather good game. On the day of the trailer announcement, we were all excited about the graphics, the new physics, the FIA Championships, the work of former Forza Motorsport audio director Mike Caviezel, the PSVR integration, the new cars, and we were waiting for some expansion and more details, and then... nothing. They've touted all these quite promising sounding changes, and naturally people are excited to hear more, and it hasn't happened. The very fact this game has the potential to be a very different, more focussed and therefore, very exciting take on the classic GT formula makes the lack of news all the more bizarre (as I can't see why you wouldn't be hyping this up), and infuriating (because I am excited and intrigued about what GT Sport might bring to the table).

Anyone know the status of the Porsche/EA license expiry date.
Maybe PD are waiting on that for an announcement.

Hey...I can live in hope can't I?:sly:

Maybe. I know there was an article on here a while back saying in 2016, though it doesn't give an exact time.

https://www.gtplanet.net/porsches-exclusive-contract-with-ea-reportedly-set-to-expire-in-2016/

Does anyone know if PD would be allowed to still make the cars and everything without the license, and then include them publicly when the license expires? Or do they have to completely wait until that license is up to begin work?

Nobody can stop them from modelling any car they can get their hands on, at any time. As long as it isn't released.

Doubt it. I would imagine that they picked it up right back again and likely nothing will change. Either way, it likely already did expire as T10 has released their Porsche Expansion last week.

Even if the license expires, they would still have to go pick up the license themselves if they are to be included. That's if it's even up for grabs, because I don't really see EA letting go of it.

EA already did let go of it, at least partially, as you mentioned FM6 including Porsches.

Yes, I know, that's why I posted it in that post in the exact sentence that I mentioned it. Still, that says nothing about whether or not EA just jumped right on and snagged it up again. It's all very odd, considering that there was basically no new cars to come from the Porsche expansion, most of it was brought over from previous games, making it seem like someone still might be pulling all the strings and having some sort of restriction on it. Much like T10 has always handled it with EA in the past, it seems to flow along the exact same way this time around as it has since FM4, leading me to believe nothing is changing.

For me simracing is more eSport than League of Legends and something else.
Yes - Leage of Legends Tournaments will be watched from people playing on their own and at simRacing it will be similar. The different is, that simRacing has an equivalent in real world, sim racers become real racers and real racers attend sim racing. so in the next years i think FIA and Co will testing out how they could grow up simRacing to become a bigger market. For me Kaz is similar to Ecclestone in his first years. And some real racing types have no more Fans and wachters than are possible to simRacing. And if there are watchers - then there is advertising - and if there is advertising - than there is a lot of money - and if there is lot of money there are big prices to be able to win and everybody could attend on his own. This is the dynamic for a big new market.
