Vulcan Racing Squadron HP-4 #19
Following on from my LEC 45 entry, I decided to create the first of what could be a few 'house' liveries I'm planning for the next main FIA seasons, featuring custom logos I made for my own personal use.
Vulcan (also Vulcan Auto) is a fictional car manufacturer I first thought up when I was a teenager, specialising in sporty family cars, performance cars and hybrid/electric vehicles. The marque's motorsport division, Vulcan Racing Squadron, competes in numerous racing series around the world; as of 2019-2020, its main commitments include factory and customer programmes in touring car, rally, rallycross, GT and endurance championships.
The HP-4 is the latest of the company's 'Vitessa' sports car prototypes, built to the outgoing LMP1 hybrid regulations. Featuring a clean, robust design, a twin-turbocharged V6 engine and a battery-based hybrid system producing around 1,000bhp, it remains one of only two factory-supported LMP1 entries in the World Endurance Championship alongside Toyota. Recent seasons have seen the HP-4 evolve into a worthy title challenger, picking up consistent podiums and victories and giving the Japanese squad some much-needed competition following the departure of Audi and Porsche. With LMP1s due to be replaced at the end of the 2019-2020 season, Vulcan Racing Squadron are pulling out all the stops to take home the final WEC and Le Mans honours for the category.
General colour scheme was mainly based on my LEC 45 entry, with the addition of a lighter green base and white stripes breaking up the individually coloured 'panels'. My main sources of inspiration were the Bentley Speed 8 (which had already inspired a couple of Toyota LMP1-based liveries I did this year) and the Mirage Fury ship from
