Here's a few worthy of consideration.
Images from the Companion App.
(apologies for the poor quality, but best I can do)

First shot shows a white car I can't identify, plus also mentions Laguna Seca.

Second shot mentions a Ford GT.

I hope PDI will add the Viper GT3-R can be added to the game. I know the game is amazing for me to get, but add the car and it'll make my wish complete.

Still no listing of an F1 car, or a Nascar? Maybe I missed the memo on no Nascar, no rally, no F1? Anyways, still a long ways off I think its a October release this game. I remember before GT5 came out back in 2009 watching people play with the F2007, and that is what got me to buy the game, then I decided to go online and hey ho it was a great idea! Got me back into gaming, the low life, the jobless life, and all that!!

I read somewhere that we weren't going to be getting any kind of Formula cars but I can't remember where. Can anyone else confirm this?

One of my GT6 friends said that GT Academy is tomorrow and that they'll get a chance to play GtSport, so I'll definitely be asking him to get unspotted cars back to me for the thread. :)

We're going to need a source...

Kaz said that there's no current plans for open wheel cars in GT Sport, but he didn't rule them out completely, IIRC.
Yeah too bad project cars and assetto corsa may be the best bet on ps4 for f1 and others but i cross the fingers that gt has some f1 car. I may just race on project cars and save my money.

If you're a fan of the sport, maybe check out F1 2016? Not the most realistic physics wise compared to Project CARS and Assetto Corsa, but it's good fun, and this year it's got a really good looking career mode. 10 season, car upgrades, the other teams' performance vary season to season. Just a thought. If you don't feel that you'd like that kind of game, then yeah, I would say that Assetto Corsa and Project CARS is probably your best bet.

only not at launch but 3 years into the gen.
What has that got to do with anything? If you design the game from the start to be a more concentrated experience then development time is irrelevant to content quantity.

I get it. People moaning about Forza 5 lacking content wasn't funny. But all the more reason not to attack GTS for the same reason.

Not sure anything other than the lack of dev time is the reason for low content numbers, PD loves big numbers, if they could produce more cars/tracks/features they would. As it stands it seems they got caught with their pants down this gen and are playing catch up with other sims. Not even going into forza 6 territory, but so far even PCars/AC seem like more substantial games despite their lack of budget/manpower compared to the juggernaut that is PD.

Except this definitely is not the case. As you said they are 3 years into the PS4's life. And we know they have been working on this game since basically the release of GT6.

This is definitely a decision. I mean look at the car years, nothing below 2009. There's no way they haven't modelled any cars older than this yet for PS4.

Why? Current car count precisely coincides with their output in the past versus the same time frame. How many new premiums GT6 had? About 120 as well for 3 years of work. I think it makes sense, PD isn't a company to hold back content.

If you leave out the base models and duplicates it's actually less than 100 unique new premiums for GT6.
