Gran Turismo Sport Only Racing Game on Eurogamer's 2017 Top 50

GT Sport is racing game of the gen on PS4. With that said this list is crap. Horizon should be top 5 if not #1.

And GT Sport is also better than Assetto Corsa on consoles, the console version is a pale version compared to the PC version and the single player is worse than GT League in GT S, the automatic transmission in AC is also not working correctly, the downshift is too slow and when i drove a fast car and was about to go around the corner i had to break all the way down for the transmission to gear down to 2nd or 3rd.

Your opinion is crap to me, but you are entitled to it so I won't say more.
AC is a drivers simulation for those that appreciate raw physics much like you'd experience on a real track.
I do agree the auto trans is slow from apparent videos I've seen, but I don't personally know anyone that uses it.
GT Sport is slowly growing on me, congrats to PD for making the list.

In all honesty, Eurogamers list was a desaster this year, not so much because of the lack of racing games, but because of other plain stupid decisions like placing Mass Effect Andromeda way above Nier Automata, Horizon or Persona 5. Crazy. Eurogamer don't have much credibility when it comes to racing games, anyway.

Either way, there is no reason to be upset. If Forza would have made this list and GTS not, other people would have been offended. But there is no reason to be upset at all. Let's just enjoy our great new racing games, shall we?

That's the Eurogamer readers top 50, which was published today (and thus would have been difficult for us to write an article about yesterday), not the Eurogamer top 50, which was published at an article a day from 26th-30th December. The first one, 50-41, is here and you'll find the others linked from it.

Although it's amusing that GT Sport was also the top racing game in the readers list. And also in 21st place.

Most people like crap, thats why so much people like gt-s. Thats also why the world is full of crap Three times on sale yet since release 3 months ago. Just pushing sales counter to sugest the customer its something they need to buy... because everyone do

Their list was rather questionable at times.

That's cool! No matter what some are saying, Gran Turismo Sport is a great game and in my opinion better than Project Cars 2 with GT3 races in snow, i haven't watched too much GT3 races, but i don't think they race when it's snow on the track? And i almost forgot, the new rain puddles thing, it is a nightmare to race in, even with heavy rain tires.

The downshifts work exactly the same way on PC as they do on console, and arguably GTS has more issue with realism on shifting than other titles do (H pattern shifting is utterly screwed by the inaccurate clutch and its impossible to lock up by rapid downshifting with paddles as the game rev matches for you perfectly regardless of when you shift) .

The shift times in AC are also very, very accurate; I know because I've been sad enough to measure them in comparison to the actual real world shift times.

So yeah, i'm more pleased about GT S .

Good for you, why not try explaining that without resorting to out of date digs at other titles?

That was my thought too. While it's been a great year for gaming, there are some very "corporate" choices in that top 50. Andromeda beating out stuff like Nier: Automata? Wtf. I'm kind of surprised Battlefront II wasn't in the top ten.

Meh... Not really something I will glee about. Just hearing Mass Effect Andromeda being above games like Neir: Automata I can not take this list from Eurogamer seriously.

You know, it's funny: very few people are questioning the credibility of this list compared to the news on IGN's racing game of the year. Luke Reilly knows his racing games — there's a general sense of enthusiasm in all his reviews. And considering how the rest of this top 50 plays out, it's utterly bizarre that not a single other racing game made the cut.
