Gran Turismo Sport to be Playable at 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon

...Hold on, isn't 2017 20th anniversary for the Japanese release of the OG GT?

I wonder if PDI are planning to act on that milestone... Or are they not gonna mention it, due to.... uh, circumstances??

Off topic, but at least there is now a release date of 3/31/2017 for Mass Effect! ;)
*3/21/17 :)

Concerning GT: Man, I wish they'd have at least one demo in the US. Personally, I'm wondering if they're even gonna release the game here - the USA still hasn't been added to the list of countries for the FIA Digital License.

I wouldn't be concerned: it's highly unlikely the FIA digital license country list is in any way related to GT Sport's region availability. Japan, America, Canada, Germany, France, Italy... the game isn't going to skip over all of them.

Gran Turismo Sport will be having a stage demo on saturday@2pm. There will also be a booth for GT Sport. So am not too sure if there'll be anything new at the stage demo. I MIGHT not be there, cos these things are usually mostly talk and all in Japanese. I'll check out the booth on Friday (i have a press pass) and see if there's anything interesting, like the VR headset.

My trip to Tokyo will be short, so my time at TAS will not be very long (but i'll still be there for at least 1 1/2 day, will be there friday the entire day and saturday will probably stay until late afternoon, then i'll head back into town for some r&r)

It's gonna be a tiring (but fun) time!!!

For those interested, here's TAS's event map (it's massive)

The FIA digital license is not a core part of the game, it's essentially just a marketing thing between PD & FIA to try and get people into real world racing.

This seems a good youtube channel for those wanting to see some clips.

Some good shots of cockpit driving in many videos, considering the recent discussion.
Also some old clips re-posted, such as the Tokyo presentation.

I liked this brief incident from one video (clip set to time start at right time), and perhaps the physics gurus may be interested.
A small error with decent consequences.

Edit.
Oops.
My apologies.
This post was meant for the Trailers, Videos, and Screenshots thread.
My bad. :embarrassed:
Perhaps a mod. could move it?
Sorry.

Sorry @Imari
As much as I don't like to copy/paste posts into other threads, I've tried to move this conversation to a more appropriate (Trailers, Videos, and Screenshots) thread. 👍

When Its going to be playable at my old and dusty PS4?

or this will be the same as with GT6.. when PS5 comes out, they release GTS on PS4... :) seems like they going that road again!

I will be pissed if they announce GTS release at November 2017... which seems what they might do.

"In the auto sports web, "GT SPORT exhibition stage" collaborated with this Gran Turismo SPORT will be held at Tokyo Auto Salon. We are planning as an event inviting luxurious guests, so please look forward to the next report."

I guess a race with super gt drivers with nonGT500 cars on a non japanese track.

Called Brands Hatch or Nurburgring. Or Tokyo.

"Gran Turismo" booth
· Booth location: Hall 4 2F passage
- Exhibition contents: PS4®Pro試遊, PlayStation®VR試遊, single play試遊, match play試遊

* For PlayStation® VR trial and single play trial, a numbered ticket to be distributed within the "Gran Turismo" booth on the day of the event is required. PS4® Pro trial and battle play trial can be experienced sequentially by queuing in the waiting queue.

So I played it this morning. The gt booth only has gt sport without the vr. Maybe they'll show it on stage tomorrow.

Don't think there anything new. Everyone plays the Tokyo track. I drove the m6, with their booming sound system setup it actually sounded not too bad and the cars do have a ferocity to them. Unfortunately maybe I'm unlucky but the one I was playing had buggy sounds that cut out at various points. Force feedback was negligible, so prob not the latest.
