More than new tracks or cars, I'd rather they sort out this bull**** SR thing first.

I have been at SR S for some time and today in one race at suzuka i went from S to B.

Mainly from getting cut up on the inside of the hairpin and the last chicane like this video.
I hope all these ''test seasons'' are being used to tweak the SR rating for when the real FIA championship begins, i am expecting some changes at least.

Also this is why we need tracks like spa, le mans and silverstone because tokyo, brands and ovals just to name a few are horrible online and i skip them all together because i fear my SR is going to suffer through no fault of my own.

I understand it's a hard mechanic to implement on an online racing game but man is it frustrating sometimes!!!!

People are reading too much into every maintenence period. If there's anything we can get deduce from previous updates, it's that PD are going to release big content updates on Fridays. 1.06 launched on Nov 27 and 1.10 launched on Dec 22, both Fridays.
So chances are we'll get the update on Friday... But we got 1.06 on a Monday. I remember having to wait until later in the week to acquire the Cobra, because I had a Project Cars 2 series going on Monday. Probably meaningless though.

If it does come, it will be paid DLC.

Yes his senna move was wrong, but by now you should know you should know that your opening was an invitation. Practice the chicane breaking points while blocking the inside

i thought they were the same.. :banghead:
Microtransactions are paying real currency for in game currency or something of the sorts that gives an advantage over a user just playing the game to earn credits, coins, xp, or whatever it might be. GT6 contained microtransactions. It's also what the controversy over Star Wars Battlefront 2 was about.

DLC is Downloadable Content, i.e. cars, tracks, expansions, etc.

You're not the first to be confused by this, but it's important to understand the difference because once the first paid DLC does come around these forums are going to be bombarded with "KAZ SAID DLC WAS GOING TO BE FREE" threads.

so is there ay word on anything else with the update? I would imagine if they are adding new cars they can add new events in GT league for the new cars....

Nope, it is just said that there will be additional 50 cars up until March (back on before first 3 free dlc cars were released). Other then that, probably most of the content will be to buy similar to GT5...

nope... sport races NEED more tracks, limiting the added tracks just for the people that can afford to buy them so they can custom race them, or race them in a lobby is pointless...

I got a notice in the am on the 23rd like 1am, and it said of a maintence on the .23rd at around 9/10pm to midnight on the 23rd. My game was down for about an hr, but no update that I could tell. Im in west america

I've seen this idea floated around a lot. IMO, it's a little backwards; kicking off paid DLC six months after release (and after a few months of free stuff) doesn't make much sense. Big exclusive titles are typically pretty front-loaded in terms of sales: the number of people interested in and playing the game is at its highest near the beginning. GT usually has longer sales legs than most titles, so that's less applicable, but still relevant.

I'm not saying it can't happen. I'm just saying it'd be a very strange approach. Though with the FIA championship starting in earnest in April, maybe it wouldn't be that far-fetched...

If somebody can't afford a track, which probably wouldn't run more than a few dollars, they probably can't afford a PS4/GT Sport combo, either. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone (kids, people that received it as a gift), but still.

Also, easy solution: new tracks can be part of the daily Sport Mode shuffle, but unavailable in any other game mode for those that don't buy it. They can experience the new hotness, and be tempted to buy it so they can actually practice on it.

Win-win. I know I personally wouldn't be that opposed to paid-for track DLC; I know how much work is required for tracks!

Nor would I.. I am just saying, some people just don't buy DLC you know :) and yes, what you wrote is doable and might actually work as a tease to buy the tracks... with the game now priced mainly at 20€, all future DLCs might as well be paid, after the 50 cars.

I think that whenever we do see Spa or Laguna Seca or other tracks that were in GT6 come to GTS they'll be free, at least the first few. Or perhaps snuck in over the next couple months with these supposed 50 cars. For the same reason I think these cars are free right now, the majority being from GT6, PD can't justify charging for tracks we already had in the previous title, especially not when the track count was so limited to begin with.

I think all tracks will be free. However paid DLC for cars is a real possibility.

I tend to think that they would want everyone taking part in a FIA championship to have the same preconditions regardless of how much they spend on DLC, so I believe there won’t be paid DLC.

I would prefer PD to sell advertising space on the billboards and track walls throughout the game, give us everything for free.
I hate FPS shooters where new maps need to be purchased and the older maps become deserts.
I would be more swayed to pulling the trigger on iracing subscription if all the tracks/cars were included.

Having said that, there are a few cars I would pay a small fee to have for PSVR

I somehow doubt they‘ll add any racecars for gr1, 3 and 4 in the near future but I hope I‘m wrong :D
