Gran Turismo: The Movie

Someone's gonna have to keep you troublemakers in line. :P
Nah, he's actually a very down-to-earth guy and gets the job done when needed.

 hate to quote myself but yeah...

Anyways, I think Do You Race's idea of meddling with Ralf's plans to dominate World Chamionships would work. If we all have a role, celebrities playing as us members, then we should collaborate to make another racer that represents GTP as a whole and the rest of us try to help him defeat Ralf Schumacher.

lol

I thought someone would've chosen Dick Dastardly by now... heck they might not ever win a race in this movie (or sequels) but they sure as heck would rack up a bucket load of seconds... if they weren't disqualified of course...

:D

Just pitching this out there, but I think Jordan should be in it representing none other than....

Himself. :D

Is he going to be like Wilson on Home Improvement? Where we never see all of his face so he has a shroud of mystery around him?

Whats the main character's name then? And this means we all have to think of a name for our character who's playing us.
Our usernames can be our racing nicknames.

And as for the name of the uber-driver we use to take on Ralf, I think it should be Kaz. He is, after all, the man who created GT. Even if none of us are of Asian descent, we can still draw comedic value from the fact that no-one notices we're not Japanese.

Ya know, with this Writer's Strike going on, don't doubt this Gran Turismo movie as something that could never happen. They're gobbling up game franchises all the time, so I'm sure they'd be looking for some kind of fodder for a big-budget movie.

That being said, what I'd suspect the movie could/should be like:

Due to the increasing lack of interest in the majority of motorsport, leaders of the major racing leagues decide to go "back-to-basics" and gather the best pro drivers of the world to create the new Gran Turismo Racing Association to supply new racing enjoyment. Drivers, to be selected from around the world, are all notable for their various talents and preferences for motorsport. Both veterans and "hot-shots" will be allowed to race, and clearly, a main point of the story will the the clashes of racing style and preferences for car types.

That, of course, leads into the main focus of the story. We'd have to select key members of the site to be the "main characters," although, certainly everyone would have to have some kind of screen time to be worth having in the picture. My guess is that the main story would have to be over the the sides of racing, presumably the new-school techies versus the old-school hot roders, versus the stereotypical Euro-rollers (clearly, the lines have been drawn for some members). Then, obviously, between the camps, we'd have to have some sort of story over the older folks teaching the kids new stuff, etc.

...So obviously we'd have to discuss who sits on what side and what kind of role they play in that group...

I think I'd be with the old-school hot roders (despite running a decidedly new-school Corvette), being one of the relatively skilled youngin's. I'm certain that I'd have a fairly friendly rivalry with McLaren (Euro roller?) and Azureman (techie Japanish?), but its hard to say.

Having actually met the Hoff, I'd nominate him to play me. Even though we look nothing alike and he's three times as vain, and I don't wear leather.

Come to think about it, perhaps someone else.

ROFL at the poster  Great work 👍

The Hoff has to play Jordan...

LOL!

I think we should combine all previously stated plots into one MEGAPLOT! Of course, we'd have to cast an army of android-ninja-pirates, for the head bad guy's cronies.

It'd be a cross between 300 & Transformers, with expensive cars, robo-ninja-pirates, 48,000 scantily clad harlots, and a buffalo.

Can't wait to see it! 👍

hahahaha!

Gumball 3000 meets the complete Star Wars saga with a budget roughly double that of Titanic! :)

Robin

It'd be the most epic movie in the history of mankind!

Oh yeah, we'd have to cast KY as the leader of the good guys, with Jordan as his 2nd in Command. It'd make children and grandmothers weep for centuries!

This movie is gonna be 'return of the Jesus' Epic.

Admittedly I've only skimmed the thread, but you guys seem to be assuming that GT the movie would be about racing real cars. I don't see it that way at all. I see Brad Pitt playing me sitting behind my DFP trying to eek out an extra 0.01 seconds on a hotlap to score a podium in the WRS.

It's about a group of guys who frequent GTPlanet being selected to race in the ultimate videogame showdown in order to save one of the few girls we have on GTPlanet who was kidnapped by ninjas.

Duh!

I like the idea of the plot how the actors would play us members, trying to get better at Gran Turismo. But I think it would be more epic if it kind of made it like GTP members were larger than life you know, like we are sports car racers or whatever.

Avery Brooks (Hawk, Capt. Benjamin Cisco) can play me.
If he's busy, then Ving Rhames.

Since SERGE.D chose Vinnie Jones instead of Jason Statham from the looks of things, please put me down as Jason Statham.

I'm suprised no one has picked Keiichi Tsuchiya yet, technically he's acted before.

He lacks my stunning features...

In all seriousness, he was considered, but unlike Satoru Nakajima, he was never far from winning. In any Long Race Series here, my performances are similar to the older Japanese driver (Satoru is 3 years older than Keiichi).

Nakajima it is!
