Biggest points haul for me this season!
I was happy to be in a high-points lobby despite this week's Daily Race C at Watkins Glen dropping me from 72% DR-B to 49% DR-B. The winner took 104 points.
I botched both the qualifying laps and started 10th.
At the race start, I took the inside line at T1, costing me a position but I did not get rear-ended! The race was pretty uneventful except for one incident. Ran on hards from start to end, placing me as high as 2nd, making 2nd and 3rd guy work on overtaking me. Finished only 7 second behind the winner as most folks, including the winner, picked an inferior pit strategy.
The only incident was this 15 sec video. I had thrown a dummy to him before the turn (included in the video), but not sure if he fell for it or was already planning to occupy the inside line. But I thought, maybe this guy is not blind if he responded to the dummy. But alas, he was definitely blind.
At least, post-race conversation revealed me that he did not blame me.

I had probably my most embarrassing race on the game today. Picked the '18 Ford GT, qualified okay in mid-pack, then drifted too wide going into lap 1 turn 1, put two wheels on the grass strip on the outside and spun it into the vast run off. Last by miles by the time I got to turn 4, at that point I one-stopped just so I'd have fun lapping on the softs instead of having to run the hards for 20 laps. Came 12th, 35 seconds down, which was the last non-DNF.
I'm just glad it was the last race of the season, it would have been a big demotivator for continuing otherwise.

@Famine not sure how they calculate the secondary & main rankings or if it’s bugged but I also came 1st for those - on my 2 separate accounts that use the exact same area.

I think that might have been me in the GTR...
Very well driven, I'm not sure I've been in a better race or had to concentrate as hard since I started online racing!
I'd actually done a shed load of practice for this, I'd done a lot of lobby races and race length runs to determine strategy , and decided that if I qualified at the sharp end to go RS for 11 laps then RH, if I qualified in the pack then no-stop RH, which was the quickest strategy in trials (albeit by 7s over 20 laps!) I was doing 1:31 on RS in free practice so was confident of a good qualifying session, that didn't happen and I ended up Q10. Oops. I made up a few places in the first 2 laps to end up P5, and you can read the rest above!
II'll echo the above and say it was a fantastic series and bring on the next one.

Wound up trying 2 times at Interlagos.
The first race had real potential to earn me a load of points. Keeping it short, I qualified P3 but exiting T2 L1, I went wide and ran high up on the curb. Began to slide and dipped a tire on the grass and really bungled it. Very dramatic crash, and surprisingly, I was unghosted just long enough to get t-boned as I spun along the track ... P14 ... I was already planning a no-stop on the hard tires, so I'm just now trying to finish. End up P8, the no-stop is legit. It's a bit disappointing I made a mess of things, after watching the replays, I'd have probably had a podium if not win outright based on everyone's tire strategy.
Race 2, a better result, but less opportunity for points. Qualifying P5 with board #8. My goal is to get 6th or better to get useful points. Much less dramatic. All but one of the cars ahead are on soft or medium tires, with the exception of pole (#1 regional player, also planning a no-stop). So the cars ahead easily make a substantial gap on the first few laps. I'm hanging in there, get passed a couple times by cars on quicker tires. But by the time it's time to start pitting, I'm up to P3. Unfortunately, I can't hold onto it and drop to P4 close to the end and finish there.
This should keep me in 1st place in both local and Porsche rankings in GT3, we'll see about the regional. Before this round I was 5th, so I'm expecting a good pay day when final results are posted.

Yeah, that was the conclusion I came to; the website lists me as 5th overall in my main area (again, from one race; the hell has everyone here been doing?).

Took a break from my summer-break (PSVR2 and this heat is just no fun…) to get at least a third result in.
The Lambo felt quite Ok in Interlagos and the rapid tire degradation should be no problem with the hard and the 20 laps in GT2.
I entered the 18:00 slot an landed in a 93 points lobby.
Qualified conservative but clean laps and managed P9 with a 1:32.3.
The start of the race was surprisingly clean and the race settled fast. A group of Stoppers ran away and i followed a group of no Stoppers in the mid field. After the stoppers were gone and I managed 2 overtakes I found myself in P4 with a Toyota breathing down my neck for the complete second half of the race. Kept my **** mostly together with only one near spin.
Would have been a clean race without that error, no penalties at all and very clean fights. Great way to finish the season.

I figured I'd give the Manufacturer's Cup a try as I noticed that I was provisionally going to earn a million credits from the single race I did in the Gazoo Racing event to get the free car and thought I might as well since that's a generous amount of credits for a race.
However, I have some questions. I entered today's event with my loaner car, but once I got into qualifying I noticed that I couldn't change my tire compounds from Racing Hard because that was the only owned set and there was no racing shop in which I could buy a set of Racing Softs. Do the loaner cars not come with all tire compounds? You have to buy them from GT Auto before the race begins or something?
Ended up doing the race on hards and managed a fifth place finish, but it was kind of annoying that I couldn't just buy the other compound before I entered qualifying after the warm up. Next time I should probably read a bit first instead of entering two minutes before the race starts.

did one race in the last time slot. didn't see anything about a reward. maybe it takes some time to get the credits? GT2 league, no free trial. had no soft tires (stupid system) and qualified last. At the end of the race i was 8th, starting from 16th. Quite happy. :-)

GT1 – Mid A+ lobby, McLaren
As much excited as I was to race this combo, I chose to skip the first slot to watch some Spa 24h action and joined the second slot. Qualifying didn't go well.... first lap was meh and a penalty meant lap 2 was a waste, plus I didn't have enough time for a third flying lap. P15 at the start.
I really knew I have good pace so I drove methodically, picked the right fights and finished P5 – pretty damn good recovery but I wasn’t satisfied, so I tried once more on the third and final slot.
Opposition was pretty much the same as before, if not slightly better, so the points on offer were enough to motivate me. Qualifying was far better but not enough to set me higher than P9.
My approach didn't change. I started on hards, got to P6, pitted on lap 17 to undercut another McLaren and apparently two of the front-runners started on softs so they were inevitably on a disadvantage. I passed them on the intense penultimate and last laps, but the right tyres were completely red on the dash to the finish line – the McLaren I previously undercut lost to me on a tight photo finish.
TL;DR I finished in a satisfying and hard fought P3, got 323 points and ended the Series with an OCD-total of 1000 points 😁 P8 in the McLaren rankings.
Plus, I got a massive boost of 11.4 million credits to buy the Merc 300SL W194 and FINALLY have every car from the bloody Hagerty dealership!
The timing couldn’t have been better 😇

Loved your Primera-inspired BTCC livery. At least I could admire it for every one of the 20 laps I spent behind you
I pushed you all the way and took wide entries into corners where you went shallow and vice versa, doing anything I could to challenge you - but I mean it when I said that you just didn't make a single error. It would've been so easy to on hards that were worn at that stage of the race, so really well done!

Meanwhile, I'm satisfied to have bagged a decent haul of credits. Porsche seems such a popular choice that I could've benefited from racing with another manufacturer, but I have so much affinity for the brand that I can't see myself doing that in the future.

Overall thoughts for this season.
I’m glad I’ve raced for Ferrari now but don’t think I’ll be doing it again. The car just doesn’t match the way I drive - could never seem to get anywhere near the full performance, especially the Gr3 version.
On the other hand the Corvettes were right up my street. Could just throw them about, slam on the throttle, enormous fun driving right on the edge. I just wish BoP gave them a bit more power.
Some good race setups, some snoozefests. More like this final round would be good.
For next time I don’t think I’ll have time to run 2 slots each round but I’d still like to go with 2 different makes. Thinking of having one Gr3 only and one Gr4 only (would help as there’s only a handful where I like both cars). Maybe something like Mazda Gr3 for the RX-Vision and Lamborghini Gr4 for the Huracan.
@jrbabbitt Tidgney is in GT1 and I guess you’re not. They have longer races.

Polyphony recently started introducing differences between the races depending on whether you're in the GT1 league or the GT2/3 leagues.
The GT1 league races are now typically 33-100% longer than their GT2/3 equivalent, although they went even higher than that with Round 3 of the Manufacturer season that just ended. GT2/3 got 3 laps of the Nurburgring Endurance layout, GT1 got 7 laps.
GT1 also has tyre wear turned on in qualifying, whereas GT2/3 don't.

Did the 16:00 GT3 Europe race, qualifying as P12. First two laps was awful laggy with zoomers and invisible crashes. The it settled down.
Did 8 laps on hards and in for softs. Crossed the finish line as P11 with an all red right rear tyre.
Pretty uneventful race.
Happy to have tried Alfa for a season.
Wondering what on earth the rest of the year is going to be game wise.

A start from 10th after getting impeded by a slow Supra. About 16H/14M stratagy, a clean race to 5th, and no penalties. A win in my book!

One and done for me. Quali was P3 behind a Supra and a GTR. Not a whole lot to report. Started on RH and was just going to use them for the whole race. Two guys behind me (Aston and Supra) were on RM tires so as they caught me I didn't put up much a fight. Now in P5 just keep trudging along... Ended up catching one of them I let pass as his tires were dying and passed him back. Aston driver pits and back to P3.
P1/P2 were long gone at this point as letting the RM tire guys go then getting passed one of them cost me a chunk of time. So they were like 6-7 seconds up. Then, out of the blue P1 in the Supra pits off the RH tires for RS tires. Maybe he was bored. So now I am in P2 with like six laps left. Yadda yadda yadda P1 on the softs was super fast and got passed me on lap 19. I put up a real half-butt defense on the second straight but it was no use. Back to P3.
Going down the straight on the last lap, the Supra (now in P2) just stops going forward. No idea why... he just kinda stopped on the track as I - and two other cars - went passed. Ok, I'll take it I guess. I definitely lost places for stranger reasons. So, anyway... P2 with P1 like 8 seconds up. Unfortunately for me, the guy who won was tired with me for third in the overall standings, so unless he does another one for way less points looks like I lost that spot. Ah well...
Likely won't do much better than that as I am not a huge fan of this track and while on the RH tires these cars feel like they're on ice.
On a side note, 4.8mil on the EMEA account for doing one race (GT1 at Nord). Nice! Thanks, PD.

Had some fun racing today, rounding out what has been a very successful first tenure with Mazda this season.
Going into this final round my lowest points finish was 194, so in order to get into the top 10 for EMEA Mazda, I needed a 220pt+ finish at least. Which I knew was very difficult, and realistically unachievable. So with that in mind, I would enjoy the races without having to worry about the points.
GT1 Slot 1:
I had no idea which strategy to go for, so I used use this first slot as to test. Despite wasting my first lap, I was at least able to qualify 7th. The RX-V feels quick here, but the driver was definitely going to be the weak link! 😅.
I started on Softs, and thing we're promising, getting up to 4th by lap 3. But after enjoying some side-by-side, I managed to bin it at T4. Stupidly dropping a wheel on the grass under braking, sending me to last place.
At this point the race unravelled, despite some fun overtakes as I recovered past Hard runners. The time loss meant I was swamped in the 2nd Hard tyre stint (pitted lap 13) by soft runners. Eventually finishing P13.
Slot 2:
With a better understanding of the strategy, I was going to start on hards regardless this time. My qualifying was lacking though, only good enough for 11th.
I risked a no stop on hards, in what was an uneventful race. As high as 3rd with 4 laps to go, before 3 early stoppers on Softs breezed past me on my very worn hards. Still, 6th place and 178pts was better expected from 11th.
Final Slot 3:
With nothing to lose, I jumped in for one last time, this one being a 229pt lobby. The highest of the day.
My best quali lap put me 6th, so this time I would run 16H/14S. At the start I made up 1 spot by lap 2, but once again at the corner that's caused me so much chagrin at Interlagos in the past: T4, I went wide to get 0.5s of penalties. This proved more costly, dropping me to the back of a pack for 10th.
Still, it turned out to be a fun race, pitting on lap 16 for Softs. A DSQ and a few late stoppers put me P6, with the cars ahead bunching up. As we all had differing levels of wear. In the end I missed out on 5th by less than 0.1s, a race of what if perhaps with that time loss. But a strong 181pt result to finish the season anyway.
Finished way higher in the final rankings than I ever expected too, so it's been a pleasant surprise this season. And I'll certainly take the 6.3million credits as rewards!
No idea why it shows my SR as A+ rather than S on the website...
The RX-V has been superb, with the Gr.4 Atenza being very dependable, but poor tyre wear is it's Achilles heal. Though I was unavailable for 2 Gr.4 rounds. Something I'll need to consider if I'm to return to Mazda. Both Ford and VW are potential contenders, as I feel like running something other than my usual Hondas for a 3rd season running 🤔.

Terrible race for me today, just couldn’t get the pace. Not too miserable tho’ as I snagged 4.5m credits for my earlier efforts with Nissan this time around. GT3, EMEA.
Was thinking the same myself. For the majority, only half the year gone and Manu/Nations are done. They really need to get something sorted for the next 6 months. Maybe monthly competitions or leagues? The point is, they need to do something (just NOT those stupid 3 race series!).

GT1 - all A/S drivers, same strat both races 18 laps on RH, 12 laps on RS
Slot 1 - Q'd 9th, got off to a decent start then about 1/2-way through the first lap I got bumped and spun off, restarted in next to last....made up a few places, ended up finishing 9th or 10th at the end.
Slot 2 - Q'd 3rd, got off to a clean start and stayed there for a while 2 guys in front each dipped for tires and I was in the lead around lap 13 or 14 I think. Went into the pits in 2nd place. Came out in 9th I think, worked my way back up to 3rd as other people pitted or their RH tires didn't have pace. I'll take a 3rd and 160 for the last race of this season I think

Just finished my go at this one and faired worse in my second attempt even though I raced much faster and more consistent.
First race I start p11 and finished p11. Did 16 h/ 14 s and felt like I should have gone with the two stop because the RCZ was sooo slow and skating on hards. Finished with 110 points which was not going towards my total anyhow since it was less than my best points to date.
Decided to go again and was hoping to improve or at least prove how 2 stop would work.
Started p14 and pitted to ditch the rh on lap one. Went to rm until lap 17 and pit for RS.
I had good pace for my abilities with this car / track combo but couldn’t find enough pace to get anywhere.
Finished p13 for 98 point but glad I got a second shot to see if it would work.
I wasn’t happy after the first race knowing that I had veered from my original plan.
Brutal DR hit losing 1200 points in the two races but it was worth it in the end to race 60 laps hunting for a better points total to add to my season.
No real participation in my area so some easy credits were had 😁
