I got my usual target of more than 200 points per counted race so I'm pleased with how the season went. 😃

The Wednesday races have definitely impacted the results though. I really shouldn't be that high in the rankings.

Scrolling down through the UK-only scores, there are a few people who I've outscored solely because they only did the Saturdays. Then there are the people who would have outscored me but never took part at all because of the combination of Wednesdays and 3/4 of rounds being counted.

Here's hoping PD change the Wednesdays to not overlap so much with working hours for next season, but not going to hold my breath after they put it into Manufacturers.

I'm fortunate enough that my work situation allows me to do 8am-4pm from home on a Wednesday so I can make the 6pm slot, but I know many others will struggle to be available for that, assuming they even can. Makes me wonder if PD never got enough complaints over the last couple of weeks to realise the problem, or if they did and simply didn't care...
I had the reverse. The other 3 people in my region were bottom B and fell into DR C. But due to them getting 4 results they were able to beat my 2 results. 1 Weds I wasn't able to get home from work in time. The other Weds I was in hospital supporting my wife who had given birth the day earlier. So yeah no chance on either. (Some things are more important than computer games.)
Even more annoyingly is that on one of the local regions it was just the 2 of us and I was 2nd. So of course they give me bronze rather than silver. So yeah I finished 3rd out of 2 people!
The only feedback they get is from the world tour people as they are the only ones who can contact them. The change to 3 slots in GT1 is for their benefit so I doubt they have any will to change it as that would upset their precious world tour drivers. Who cares about us peasants!
Best result so far :)
I am now close to DR A but regarding the time slots I will rather stay in B until the season starts...
If you sign up now into GT2 and attain DR A before the season you'll still be in GT2.

Exciting race, Q10, P5.
Went for 1RH, 17RM, 9RS.

I had an incredible launch, went on the outside on T1 late breaking a guy stopping for traffic on the inside, now P5, on the exit I got squeezed on the rail, back to P10. No damage for me, he lost control and got ghosted.

Later, still on first lap, I overtake to P7, a guy loose control while I overtake push me side way in the wall, still no damage. But back to P9.

Couple close calls avoiding accidents, one damaged front pushing it too much and hitting the rail while on RM. The last 9 lap on RS allowed me to climb from P9 to P5.

Overall, an eventful race that could have been better, but also could have been worse.

448 pts this season's for my best 3 results. The top score I ever got in Nation cup.

Already looking ahead to Daytona. Doing some sessions in 1P mode.

Yea, the AI doesn't rubber band on anything (despite it being tuned off). What a joke... especially when you consider the AI is on RH tires (same car). Almost four second faster lap! Cuz it has to catch up and make the finish "close." Well done, PD. :facepalm

Now that I am paying attention, laps 15 thru 20 are only .032" off between them. Not bad consistency if I do say so myself!

Yeah, just had the same thought, thanks for the advise :)
On the other hand, since I rarely drive outside of the World Series races it wont change until Wednesday anyway...

Question: I’m in gr.3, go to register for the manufactures cup, all 4 races say gr.3 cars, go to pick a contract (manufacturer) and all the cars are gr.4; I’m confused does anyone have an answer ( this is the first one of these I e tried)?

Pick one of the Gr.4s, that's normal. You'll get the Gr.3 option afterwards. You always get loaned two cars from your brand when you register for the season. They used to do races with both categories in Manufacturers when GT7 first came out, but it's been Gr.3 only for a while now.

My wife rolls her eyes when I tell her how the National Cup went, so listen up)))
This was my first experience of racing online. Of course it was the GT3 league.
1. Sardegna. I chose GTR, because I was afraid of tire wear at the NSX. First slot, qualified on p2, by the middle of the race I reached p1 and on the last lap I spun... 2nd slot and the last slot in time - p5, but the opponents were much stronger, so I'm happy.
2. Red Bull. I was afraid of this race, because I could not adapt to the rain. First slot, qualified on p3, on the first lap I went to p2, knock on the door and I had to interrupt the race ((( 2nd slot, couldn't pass the qualifying lap, because I was constantly knocked off the track, as a result I started last. Half of the race I was breaking through to p7 place, I constantly participate in collisions. Yes, racing with opponents who have a safety rating of D/E is a thankless task. By the way, mine is always S. As a result, the top five managed to get away from me so much that when I started to catch up with them from p7, by the last lap I only caught up with 6, but did not manage to pass it, although I caught up with p1 on each lap by 0.3-0.5 seconds.
3. Cappuccino. I really liked this race, it was the first time I used MT. Qualification P3, finish on P2.
4. I was afraid of it as well as Red Bull, but to my surprise, everything went well, but could have been perfect. Qualified on p2, thanks to tactics by the middle of the race broke through to p1 and until the end of the race held a gap of 4-5 seconds. But....pre-half lap, turn and I roll back to 3rd place. On the last lap, the leader and I stopped for a pit stop for the mandatory use of hard tires, and p2 apparently forgot to do this and received a penalty, as a result, the finish on p2.

Yikes, My DR getting to high. 257 point lobby. GT1 Slot 2. Auto TCS5 ASM on.
I qualify P6 with 1:27.587. Very happy with that as only 0.5 of my FP time.
I make the decision to start on RS incase I pick up damage on lap one.

I get a good start off the line and end up P4 after turn one. By the end of lap one I am in P3. No one pressing in me for position and I pit lap 8 for RH. Two laps on RH and pit for RM on end of lap 10 for RM and medium. By all pit exchanges I'm P7. P6 bins it on lap 26 and end up finishing P6 for 203 points. Very happy with this results.

End results are great.

Initial tyre test for Suzuka. Starting on softs in the Vantage, they lasted for 8-10 laps but front grip lacking after lap 6. Mediums were actually faster at the end on low fuel. Will have to try the reverse strategy to see whether starting on mediums in the race is workable. 1-stopper the only viable option at GT2/GT3 level.

In GT1 I'm tempted to research a 2-stop. Pit loss for tyres only seems to be about 20 seconds, and if the delta between softs and mediums is about 2s/lap and you can do an extra ~10 laps on softs...

Probably the biggest gain here is that if the 2-stop is somewhat viable, that's potentially going to save you if you have to pit an extra time for damage. If you can make it to lap 8 or 18 while on softs, or 2-3 if you start on meds, you should almost get away with it for free.

Does anyone know if there's been a race with tyre requirements (for softs/meds/etc) AND rain? It shows the IM and W as available, but if there's a req for any dry compound that means 0% chance of rain, correct?

Fuel isn't an issue, it comes close but it's nice to see a race that runs you down the entire tank and leaves you on empty at the end, at least without fuel saving.

IIRC there has been in the live events but not online. They don't want people to get caught out and accidentally not fulfill the requirement. That's why people are pointing to the Spa race (also the existence of a live event race with identical settings and rain...)

I just did a race conditions run in the modern NSX as I've gone Honda this season.

Mediums seemed to be about 1s/lap slower than Softs for me once they've warmed up. I went 10S/10M and I think that was too much as the last lap on the Softs was awful. Maybe it'd be better if the Softs were the second stint, but I reckon it's going to be 8-9S/11-12M unless you're particularly good on tyre saving or in a car that's gentle with them. I can't see a 2-stop working.

It has happened but it's really, really rare. The only occasion I can immediately think of was the 2022 Manufacturers Grand Final Demo, which was the first 15 laps of the 30 lap race they held for the Monaco live event.

Just gone digging through my old race videos to find it:

Pretty sure the only reason that tyre requirement was even in there was to forbid the Inters no-stop due to the timing on the rain. That won't apply to the coming Spa round this season if the suspicions are correct about it being the full length version that went wet to dry, then started raining again a few laps from the end.
