So death rattle BZZZZZ good because giving feedback but death rattle BZZZZZ bad because wheel destroying?
Probably bad for wheel, definitely bad for feedback! Not everyone is feeling the same thing though, mine isn’t as bad as the video @newmedia_dev posted in the physics thread, but it’s unpleasant. Looks like it’s in PD’s known issues list though.

Edit: video -

It's really really jarring to feel and hear (even in VR)

It's not giving feedback previously you'd get a very subtle vibration and light wheel, that mimicked what you'd roughly expect in a modern car.

This new feedback is extremely aggressive on the mechanics of the wheel base and not massively communicative. We are talking me turning sharply an extra 10 degrees to scrub speed and get an angle over dragging the brake.

They know it's a problem, although I'm not sure how it got passed QA or was acceptable to put an update out with the issue, but PD do PD so 🤷‍♂️

So unless they squeeze in another update at the end of March it looks like another GTWS season of the exact same roster - no new manufacturers, no new models.

I've tried out a bunch of the road cars at Trial Mountain last night. I hate them all. They don't turn. They don't stop. But, boy, can they go in a straight line.

Like most everybody else on the leader board, I'm fastest in the Porsche, currently with a best time of 1:49.3 in Free Practice.

Wish I could practice racing against the AI or other drivers in it, but apparently that's too much to ask for. It seems I'll have to make do with spinning laps on my own in Free Practice.

I wish they'd allow garage cars for the first race. Of course they'd be tuned per the race requirements, but at least we wouldn't be seeing 16 lime colored Porsches driving around at once. It's going to look ridiculous.

Gr3 at the Glen is probably the only one I'll do. It's one of my favorite combos. But again, I feel there are a lot of "Nations lovers" out there that are a bit irked of a Gr3 race during a Nations round. Aren't Gr3 cars what Manu is for?

I, too, and surprised PD decided to shoehorn in a Nations set before the official season. I think it's a good thing because at least they're doing something... I just wish that something was more interesting.

Haha, I tried it today as well. I am not sure if I wanna give it a go. It needs lot of practice, the speed and acceleration feels so off compared to the braking. I would expect quite some chaos, especially with light damage and only 10 laps

Interesting decision by PD to go back to light damage, but hardly surprising considering some of the carnage I witnessed at Spa, Interlagos and Daytona, with the lagging and server issues. The servers in EMEA have been sub standard, since the PSN outage came back on line. I have experienced so many net code issues, where people were damaging my car and not receiving damage themselves. I'm sure PD are aware of this, and decided heavy damage was becoming.more of a handicap, than a deterrent.

Is there a way to replicate the Porsche? I tried but the engine doesn't have that fan-like sound, or the rev limit at 8300.

What i did is to upgrade everything related to the engine, except the last stage 5 weight reduction, and high-ratio transmission. Brake and suspension at normal or sports level. It's similar to the Nations Porsche but not too close. PP should be 765.12 or around that.

It's going to be utter carnage I reckon 🤣 pity there isn't an option to spectate, would be hilarious watching everyone barrelling into turn 3 🙈🙈 I think I might sit this round out !

I think it will be fun - a nice change from the Gr3 fest of Manufacturers (I hate that they removed Gr 4 from GT1). I managed a mid 1.26 (about 200th overall) but I think there's more time to be gained. Like others have found, only the Porsche is competitive (unless in the race settings it's a different story)....maybe the Supra is also ok. All of the cars have to be really finessed around the track, which is fun.... (though lap 1 may not be......)

I'm not sure what the point is of making these cars up, just to give them awful setups that handle atrociously. The only one I've been able to somewhat consistently get around track is the R32. Is the Porsche really the only car that's drivable? I haven't tried it yet.

I tried all of them....with the 1st place ghost on as a reference. The R34 felt nice, but it was about 4 car lengths behind before the first braking point....the F50 was fast, but difficult to drive....same with the rx-7

I've been practicing with the Porsche. Managed a low 47s. Would be happy with mid 46s.

I agree with some of the comments above, I think this race will be pure madness. The cars are extremely fast and hard to control, I anticipate everyone crashing and spinning (at least for mid B - low A lobbies).

In my opinion, it also will be very hard to overtake on that track, besides the long straight in the tunnel.

IDK, let's see how it goes tomorrow. Good luck to y'all.

Well I did try the Tuend Prosche 911GT3 a few days ago and it was a manic beast to say the least, not sure if this race will destory peoples ratings, but will have to do some more praticising today before tomorrows races.
