Is the 919 a worthwhile option at all? I noticed in testing today it's good for 18-19 laps without saving. I'm likely going to go with it anyways because it's the easiest to drive for me, just curious is all...
I think P2 and 3 in my race were both 919's.

Alot quicker top speed, but Bugatti has it through the corners.

Think they both made mistakes which gave me such a big lead originally.

Could anyone please help me out. I just finished my race, but I can't seem to find anywhere my results after the race. Would like to check out how many points I got and if I should race again or not.

GT2 (17 laps)

9am EMEA slot

163pt lobby (A/S)

QT at the back as I didn't know what to expect. I was in the Bugatti as was most of the field (2 R18s and 1 LM55)

Finished 11th with a no stop and crossing the line with 0% fuel left. The front runners were able to no stop and run a much higher pace than me.

Got 95pts so not going again.

Don't forget to fuel map 6 when the Autodrive is doing its rolling start, and unless you are way out front lap 1 is a very good fuel saving opportunity.

Well, I feel vindicated. Top split in slot 1 Oceania. I was the only Hyundai in a lobby of Bugattis, Audis and a Porsche.

Qualified 3rd with a 33.4.

The race went relatively smoothly, just a minor shunt from behind in lap 2 which gave me temporary aero damage. (Light damage is SOOO much better than heavy damage).

Took only about 3 laps to clear out from the pack and I ran in p3 for the entire race.

Two aliens in Audis finished 1/2, I finished 3rd and then the pack of Bugattis.

The Hyundai is an absolute weapon in this race. Even when I came under pressure from a Bugatti, the straight line speed advantage made overtaking impossible for them.

Once you exit from the race, you won't be able to see your points until your region finishes for the day ( ie after the final slot). In the race menu, either before qual, between qual and race or after the race, you can see the points on offer for each position by selecting the button at the bottom which looks like a military star badge. Simply then equate it to the position you got. But you can't do this once you leave the race menu

Well, Monza hasn’t always been kind to me – lobby races this week almost always resulted in a T1 punt – but today was excellent.

Firstly, I used my wheel-only EMEA account, I’ve only used a wheel since the beginning of this series so a new account was needed to properly chart my progress.

Race 1 – EMEA GT3 Slot 1 – Mid-upper C (43pts to winner) – Door 4

I’d been practising qualifying more than anything in the previous hour, and was able to get into the 1:34s unguided by a ghost, but despite leaving late for clear track my Audi and I could only muster a 1:35.5 which, thankfully, was good enough for pole by 0.06 from a French driver in the meta Bugatti. 11 of the 16 entries were from the Molsheim marque with 2 Audis, 2 Mazdas and a lone Group C Nissan completing the field.

Off the line, the Audi’s straight-line advantage meant that I didn’t need to defend at T1 but the Bugatti’s superiority in the turns meant that soon the French driver in the French car with the French blue paintjob was well and truly riding my derriere for the first few laps. He’d get to within a couple of tenths out of the chicanes, then I’d edge away just enough to keep the place for the next turn. This went on for 5 or 6 laps, then he sent it down the inside at the Parabolica from 4 tenths back, I kept the place but he was now close enough to slipstream and outbrake me into turn 1. His tight line in compromised his exit and I went round the outside of Curva Grande to retake the place into the 2nd chicane, and kept the lead four a further lap and a half until he tried another send into Ascari, punted me onto the green-painted concrete and received 2s penalty. I was still ahead and could finally break the tow when they served their imposition on the following lap. From there my opponent seemed to go into fuel save mode, and although I had to do the same myself to a certain extent they and the rest of the field dropped back significantly as the Bugatti drivers seemed to realise their fuel situation en masse at about lap 12 while I could manage my own supply without losing too much time, and crossed the line 15 seconds clear with 0.1 laps left in the tank.

Then I changed to my Oceania account for Slot 9 of GT2 in that region, still on the wheel but using an existing account which has dropped from 95%B to 80%B since using the wheel.

Race 2 – Oceania Slot 9 – Mid-upper B (106pts to winner) – Door 6

Qualifying went better – I’d worked out by now that you can leave the pits at 5:10 left and get 3 laps in – but my 1:35.3 only got Q5.

Off the start I lost a couple of places to another Audi and a Tomahawk through trying to keep it clean during T1, then I made a place up thanks to a spinner and cruised up behind the Bugatti of the pole sitter who was now P5. They were very aggressive and defensive but I did get by when they were slow through Lesmo 2, then 2 laps later I had to check up at Ascari when another Bugatti spun, the car behind kept their foot in and cleaned me up good and proper, I ended up the wrong way in the barrier and 12th and DFL by 15 seconds.

After that I used it as a test – I got past 3 or 4 cars into 8th, then the pole-sitter who’d punted me quit and made me 7th, but I was still 14 seconds behind a gaggle of Bugattis, and although they all slowed to save fuel I was still 0.7s adrift of them at the flag.

I decided – rare for me – to have another go:

Race 3 – Oceania Slot 10 (final slot) – Mid-upper B (103pts to winner) – Door 4

A much more satisfying qualifying gave me Q2 behind a Bugatti. Still 9 of them in this 16-car race, with a good mix of cars – apart from Bugattis and Audi R18s there was a Mazda, a couple of Hyundais, a Tomahawk and even an Audi VGT!

I tucked in behind the pole car into T1, no need for heroics, if I could stay with them in the turns I could get them on the straights. I was similarly tentative into the 2nd chicane – I could do this as there was a right scrap going on behind meaning I wasn’t being challenged myself. Out of the 2nd chicane the leader put 2 wheels in the dust and lifted slightly, that gave me the opportunity to draw alongside into Lesmo 1, I parked it on the apex to neutralise the Bugatti’s cornering advantage and was able to pull away out of Lesmo 2 as chaos broke loose from position 4 backwards. Once everyone had got going and penalties had been served I was about 4 seconds ahead of the Tomahawk and a Hyundai, and although the Korean car took 2nd and made some inroads in the last few laps we all had to fuel-save our way to the chequered flag, which I crossed first by 4 seconds for a very pleasing win and 103pts, bringing me back up towards 90%B. No Bugattis finished in the top 3 in this one.

One top tip I can give is, if you can, load Sim Dashboard or similar on a device – I used my phone – and set it up with a simple reading of laps of fuel remaining (it’s a standard widget on sim dashboard and the demo version will allow you to run it for free. I tucked my phone at the bottom of my monitor so I could see the screen, this had the advantage that I could see both my radar and fuel status without constantly juggling the MFD. I usually use this for tyre temperatures but the fuel situation today meant having the gauge on made a big difference. It also seems a bit more accurate than the MFD gauge – perhaps it calculates differently – and don’t panic if it just says 0.0 for lap 1 as it needs you to complete a lap to make it’s first calculations.

Good luck today to everyone out there!

NATIONS CUP RACE - ROUND 3 - 2PM SLOT - EMEA Region - Lower C race lobs. 17 laps no pit needed. MONZA RACE!

So today this nations cup race was I'm sorry to say absolute dog****e for me. Started off ok in qualifying and then slowly had to make up my time to 10th after bashing around. Bit of a RANT to follow im afraid!

THREE incidents in one race dont amount to good racing in anyway and its really bad sportmanship!

It was downhill in the main Race, there is a one merged YT clip below of three seperate incidents of blantant bad racing and ramming taking place from a reckless south african driver and a horrible asswipe of a french driver who pitted me on the main straight, and I could not recover from it during my race.

It's a real shame that the penalty system lets me down and other stupid drivers dont get repromanded/penalised for their stupid behaviour or they just rage quit. I had tried my best to bring back position ranks, but this was a kind of race that required some strategy as fuel played in abit, tyre wear not so much and it was hard to bounce back. The tyres could last the 17 laps and they did but it was really bad to race with people who were intentially ramming your car, despite me trying to keep it clean and classy.

I won't say much more, it was just bad, onto Round 4, trying to stay optimistic. Videos below prove my disdain for sport racing.

My only race in the series was today. Missed the first 2, on holiday from Thurs.

Almost forgot, so had about 5 practice laps in the Audi and the Bugatti. Went for the Audi as its far more stable under braking so suits my style. Had no time to mess about with BB testing, braking markers or anything other than "I think this is what gear I should take the corner in". Couldn't really remember from the TT a few months back.

4pm, GT1

Qualified 14th wooo

Finished 12th even more woooo (140points, somehow)

Really uneventful race really. Kept it on track albeit on average 3 secs a lap slower than the leaders. Was pushing for 11th at one stage before the pits then I just focused on not being caught too much by the guys behind. Kept a 3s-ish gap in case of silly penalties, that was about it. Oh, my hands really hurt after 25 laps of that as well, still not used to this long race stuff 😂

Didn't get lapped either, result

Happy racing ladies and gents!

I was looking forward to running this in the R18. I set my wheel up and the pedals aren't working. The brakes are flickering and come fully on when you press the throttle. Opening them up and getting rid of any hair and fluff usually works but it just wouldn't work today, so happy racing everyone. I think I'm buying a G923 soon.

Wish I had time yesterday for another attempt.

After coming first in my race I got 15 points.

People in other races were given up to 50 points.

And because I can't do next weeks race my current rank will more than likely drop.
Keep plugging at it mate, this is just an exhibition season so enjoy the variety.

I would definitely recommend a circuit experience or 10 and some daily races to improve the lobbies you are in and help increase that pace and consistency a little.

You put in a good showing and nobody judges anyone. We just want you to be the best you can and that takes time and practice. Good result. In my lobby 3 people quit so they got zero points!

I enjoyed yesterday so much, I went again on my Canadian account. Only Hyundai in a sea of Bugattis. A+ lobby. Second split I think.

Q4 and then murdered at the first 2 chicanes. Dropped to p11.

Steadily picked up places and by lap 5 I was p6. 2 more laps and p3. The leader was 10 seconds up the road.

Got to p2 on lap 10 and then pitted on lap 16 7.2 secs behind the leader. Exited the pits 3 seconds behind. Those Bugs are thirsty.

Proceeded to reel in p1 little by little and on lap 22 he got the second chicane wrong and I got up the inside into the first Lesmo. At the second Lesmo he throws it into my side and puts me in the gravel. I drop 4 seconds.

Cue 3 laps of red mist and expletives as I come under pressure from p3.

Through Ascari for the last time and he’s 3 seconds in front of me and I’m constructing my angry after-race message in my head. But then, miracle of miracles, he stops on the line to let me past for the win.

I’m telling you, the Hyundai is a way better car for this race than the Bugatti.

Needless to say, one and done in North America.

First GT1 slot in the Americas. I was in door #2, driving the Audi R18 in an all-A lobby with 162 points up for grabs. It was mostly Bugattis, but there was another R18 or two, a McLaren VGT, a TS030, and GR010. I just needed to finish to improve my point total.

I qualified Q6 with a time of 1:35.321, just a tenth off by best time in Free Practice. Couldn't ask for more.

gtws-nc-rd3-start.jpg

The race got off to a decent start. Everybody ghosted on T1 and I lost a couple spots as drivers decided to go right through the cars ahead of them. As the lap developed, I climbed back up to P6 from cars going off the track at the second chicane and Lesmo 1.

Then came Ascari. The trio drivers ahead of me decided to go into it 3-wide. Unsurprisingly, one went into the sand. Surprisingly -- at least to me -- that driver managed to turn the car back into the track just as I was coming by and went into my side. That sent me way left. I was still on the tarmac, but my angle was all off. I tried to adjust, but ended up pushing another car wide into the green stuff on the final left. They started to spin, going into my side, which settled their car back down, but sent me into the grass. I lost control, spun, and went into the barrier.

gtws-nc-rd3-crash.jpg

Dead last.

At least I had clean air. Time to get to work.

I managed to work my way back up the field. Mostly by passing cars that had crashed or taken penalties, but I managed to make a couple legitimate overtakes.

I pitted on lap 16. When all the pitting was done, I was back up to P8, between two Bugattis.

On lap 20, the Bugatti was right on my bump into Lesmo 2. He wasn't prepared for me to brake where I did and bumped me into the sand. To his credit, he waited for me to return to the track and followed me for the rest of the lap. Cheers to you, Diathon, wherever you are. Sadly we both dropped a position in the process. Down to P9 for me.

On lap 23, still in P9, I cut the corner on the first chicane for a 1-second penalty. I finally gave up P9 to the Bugatti who I had until then managed to keep ahead of. Down to P10.

But then it was my turn. The P9 Bugatti got a 1-second penalty on lap 25. I took back P9 for the finish, and 108 points.

All things considered, this was a decent result. I wish I could have avoided the lap-1 crash, of course, but I'm feeling pretty good about myself for climbing my way back up to where I finished.

Slot 1 - disconnected before race.
Slot 2 - disconnected before qualifying.
Slot 3 - qualified poorly, got stuck in traffic, was running faster than the leaders for a while, wasn't paying attention and put on tires at the pit stop, got 2 unnecessary track limits penalties, finished 9th instead of what should have been 4th (and moved up to 8th when someone DC'd between the end of the race and when everyone finished??) I still have no idea how to drive the Bugatti, which is why I went with the R18. I think it had the pace, I just can't put a lap together in qualifying.

I'm headed to Vegas next weekend, so that's it for me.

Slot 1: Missed due to another 3-hr endurance race I was participating in.

Slot 2: Apparently rebuilding my SR to 97 or 98 after last week wasn't good enough, because I was dumped into a 245-point lobby as the #1 car in a race where about half the field was DR A. Qualified and finished 2nd after leading for several laps. I pitted from the lead on Lap 15, while the polesitter carried on for another 3 laps. Turns out you can stretch the fuel on the Bugatti for an extra 3 laps and barely lose any time. With the refueling rate being so high, you wouldn't think 3 laps would make much of a difference, and definitely not enough to make up for the small amount of pace lost when saving fuel, but the polesitter came out several seconds ahead and only pulled away from me afterwards. In trying to push to potentially catch him, I spun myself out at the exit of the first chicane, but I had such a big gap over 3rd that I still (barely) kept my spot before opening the gap again. I finished where I started in 2nd for 234 worthless points (even if I'd won, my lowest score was 263 points, so a win would've also been useless).

Slot 3: Finally got into a "real" lobby that ended up being a depleted Top Split. I qualified 5th and settled into that spot for several laps, a bit over 1s ahead of 6th, and about the same gap behind 4th. Then I slowly began dropping 6th while gaining on 4th, until I was able to slipstream past him on Lap 6 headed into Parabolica. Unfortunately he then massively out-braked himself and punted me into the first chicane, giving me damage and also resetting me back to the entry of the chicane. That allowed 6th to catch both of us and pass me while I tried to get back up to speed with damage. I got back up to 5th again a few laps later after the guy who punted me gave me the spot back as we one again went into Parabolica. I moved up into 4th again after they picked up a penalty for cutting the entrance of the 1st chicane (which I didn't think was possible), then pitted on Lap 15 once again while the 2 cars I was battling with carried on. One pitted only a lap later and even with only 1 extra lap, he nearly leapfrogged me. 4th place pitted on Lap 18 and emerged just in front of me, where he stayed until he messed up Ascari and allowed me past on Lap 22. The Top 3 were long gone, so the rest of the race was all about holding on to 4th place and defending it from the other 2 drivers I'd been battling with for the entire race. 5th place was content to bump-draft me for a couple laps, but on the final lap between the Lesmos and Ascari I had to go defensive. I successfully kept the spot into Ascari, but defending compromised my line and allowed 5th place yet another run between Ascari and Parabolica. Once again I defended the inside, but I didn't need to, because 5th place ran out of fuel in the middle of Parabolica and gave me an easy run to the line. 4th place was worth 267 points, which was my best of the season...by 1 point. It was also only 4 points better than my worst result in Rd.1.

Thanks mate.

I'd gotten myself up to B last weekend, but this weekends dailies killed me and I dropped back down to C.

Unfortunately the race yesterday was mostly D which is what got me.

Looking forward to the next series whenever it comes around though.

So much better racing than in the Dailies.

Anyone else with Paddle Shift gears find this race did your fingers in more than any other race. It's the combination of rapid acceleration through the gears, combined with the stop start nature of the chicanes. This means you shift gear way more often than in any other race.

Not so much down shifting as I was using the wider torque of the Bug so taking the chicanes in 3rd but definitely upshifting! I hate the reluctance to upshift sometimes and my for some random reason finger will double pull so I'll end up going 3rd to 5th...dropping back to 4th and then back up to 5th 🤣

Thanks to last night's round, I did move up a fair bit in rank, but the relatively low score of that very first round at Fuji seems to be holding me back. The anticipation for this last round is killing me, haha! Given that the tire compound is Sport Softs, my guess is that the car featured will actually not be the Mission X nor the historic GP racer. I don't think it'll be the other Jimny model, either. So that likely would narrow it down to the Ford Escort Cosworth and that supposed Porsche 911 (992) model.

It doesn't happen in every series, but yes the concept of the "Mystery Round" is well established and well known - and if the details aren't released until Thursday it won't be the first time that has happened - there was a round on ice at Lake Louise in standard Jimnys that was announced late just like this week is shaping up to be.

I've only seen it happen in Nations' Cup though, never seen it in Manufacturers'.

It's happened once for Manufacturers in GT7 - there was a mystery exhibition round that turned out to be Grand Valley back at the start of 2023.

It's a lot less likely to happen in Manufacturers compared to Nations or TGR because the car is fixed, so any Manu mystery has to be a track. And well, we don't get all that many new tracks.

Not usual usual, but happens sometimes when there's an update coming and the round might use new content in the update, so it's left "TBA" in order not to spoil the content.

We flag this situation in our pre-season articles when it happens:

GT World Series 2024 Exhibition Season 2 – Manufacturers Cup

Round 1 – November 2 – Fuji International Speedway/Gr.4 – 17 laps
Round 2 – November 9 – Special Stage Route X/Car Selection – 3 laps
Round 3 – November 16 – Autodromo Nazionale Monza/Gr.1 – 25/17 laps
Round 4 – November 23 – TBA/TBA

Your eye might naturally be drawn to that final race, as its combination is not currently listed — which generally, but not always, denotes the use of new content from an update that has not yet been announced. The event overview shows Sports Soft tires are required, which suggests a new road car will be available, while an unlinked page on the GT website shows the event will be at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
That also allows us to estimate when an update will arrive when one hasn't yet been announced, which in this case gave us a best-guess of November 21.
