It says 20 laps on the official site.

EDIT: the link https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gt7/news/00_5270638.html
That's Manufacturers, and R1 isn't listed (but I know it's still 17 laps).

None of the official pages I've tried lists the details for the new R1 of Nations at Maggiore East End, just that it's there...

12 laps

I was only going off what a few people have said on a few streams. They seem to think it felt slower, but I’ve not tried it myself. Also looking at the BOP sheet it looks like it hasn’t had a change.

———————

Im tempted to go Lexus this time around…… I really want to use it but the Gr3 car puts me off a little and I also want to be competitive too. McLaren could be another option. My first manufacture when the game was launched.
The 911 still felt pretty good to me last night. Also was nice to be able to move the BB to the rear a little for practice on Grand Valley.

Damn, I took the day off from work to learn and race GV. Guess I'll use one of my other Fords seeing as points don't count for this round. BUMMER

Ok so after letting the dust settle on the track swap fiasco I can now say it was the right call. At the time I was a bit annoyed they swapped the track as I learned the track, picked a car I thought was decent there and was just looking forward to it. If PD had carried on using this combo and some were getting the bug or not it just causes issue when the results come in, as you just don’t know where you finish. As for picking Nurburgring GP again… that was annoying too. I guess with us just doing it recently it’s fresh in people minds maybe?

On to the racing. So I was going to sit this out as last time in the GTWS I had a horrible time, plus I’m in the Hyundai. In the end I though sod it… I’ll do one race and see how it goes.

Quali - waited in the pit lane to let chaos in front get clear so I have clean track. Managed to pull off a 1.55.605. Not a bad lap I thought which put me P9 for the race.

Race - Starting in P9, I opted for the soft tyres. I get a good launch and get through T1 into P8. Lost 2 positions in the next corner as a slower car ahead put me in an awkward position. L2 managed to make 3 positions up from 2 overtakes into T1 & T2, and the other was a Porsche hitting the pit entry wall on L1. P7 and comfortably lapping in the mid 1.56’s and not really losing much time to the leader but catching the group ahead. L8 caught the Supra in front and got by them as they pit stops started. Stayed out till L10 and made another position due to either contact or a spin from the cars ahead. Got the over cut done on the Supra and up to P5 now. The cold mediums compared to the warm mediums on the Supra made my life a little difficult. An error from me at the chicane meant I lost control a little bit and this gave up the position. Next lap I watched the Supra do exactly the same thing as me but this time they were not so lucky and off they went, so up to P5. Porsche behind on soft tyres was catching and the last 4 laps we had a great clean battle. Had to carefully position my car in a few corners to stop them passing me on the straight or making a gap to stop a dive. Survived this and crossed the line in P5. Genuinely don’t know how I managed to pull off a P5 in that race. Last time round I was struggling to get a top 10 in the Aston.

I shall quit whilst I ahead and take my 105 points from a high DR B lobby.

Hadn't hit that 'sign the contract' button so may reconsider choosing Ford. We will see!
Lucky you. I'd been debating going back to Chevy, or sticking with Ford for another exhibition season, and chose the Corvette because it's easier to drive so I was hoping it would be easier to acclimate to a new track with it. Now the only other round I'll probably do is Spa, and the Mustang is definitely quicker around there, at least in the dry. If it doesn't rain at Spa, it's gonna be a pain to make the Corvette competitive with its lack of top end.

Maybe I'll do Maggiore West End if it turns out Gr.4 is actually fixed...

After dragging myself over the DR A line via some favourable Daily Race C results this week, I'm able to log into GTWS at GT1 level and I'm grateful.

That being said, a more than frustrating first race at the 6pm slot using my "hipster's choice" Renault Gr.3.

Qualified a frankly naughty 6th and proceeded to keep up with my faster peers for the majority of the first stint. Another isolated manufacturer behind me, a Frenchman in a Lexus was slowly gaining but watching the delta I could see I had the edge on consistency. Eventually he caught me and performed a sloppy pass at turn 2 but oh well.

Second stint is where it happened... The same Lexus driver is catching me (now in 7th), but again I could see if I just keep it clean and consistent I should have the edge to get to the chequered flag before them.

He obviously didn't agree with my defensive driving or didn't fancy one more lap fighting fairly for position, because on the final corner of the penultimate lap he totally edges me out and I'm in the dirt, losing 2 extra places in the process.

Opinions please...

I feel for you as a fellow Renault driver , yeah that wasn't nice from him , its easy to say now but probably you should have taken the inside rather than the outside thus he wouldn't been able to push you out 🙁

As you can see, I thought about it. My strategy at NGP normally is to let them have the last corner and I'll catch them by turn 1. I was hoping for a clean battle on the last lap for 7th, but instead I crawled around on my own with steam coming out of my ears.

So I ran one of the "lucky" Grand Valley slots. Did about 5 laps trying to actually learn the track for my Hyundai. Got in a lobby a bit ahead of my pace, but plugged away. Set a 46.9 and started p11 of 14. Cruising slowly on mediums to get them warmed up and halfway through the lap I get a little wiggle which slides me wide and I get hung on the wall. Have to back up and am now several seconds off the back of the pack.

I put my head down and look at finding the line and setting consistent laps. End up catching people and driving back to p11 by the pit stop ( I pit after 9 on mediums) people trying all sorts of random things and a disconnect mean by lap 11 I'm in a tight battle for p8 with a 911. I can catch and be all over them, but the acceleration out of the slow corners means I'm left just trying to pressure them into mistakes, when I don't make one myself and drop back. End up keeping p9, only 3 or so seconds back from the p6 battle. Pretty decent race, track raced better than I thought, and my pace ended up well better than I thought, oh if I hadn't lost 6 seconds or so from the first lap problem.

Then I wake up to find the round has been wiped and everyone else is having to drive that horror show of a track that is the Nurb GP. This makes 2 'seasons' in a row round 1 is a fail. Last season the lobby crashed halfway through the race (at NGP) and this time the pit glitch bug that exists at watkins glen as well as wall riding exploits leads to a failure. How can they not learn from the wall riding at High Speed Ring, Trial Mountain, St. Croix and Tokyo and maybe, I don't know, plan on a penalty or a sign protruding from the wall? Learn from experience like their much touted AI does.

And for those not sure about the pit glitch, once someone pits, they don't come out on your screen. Some people can see the cars, some can't. If you can see the other car they can affect your race, punt you off or put you in the wall without seeing you or knowing you are there. It makes it near impossible to pass them. If you can't see each other then there is no problem but it usually is 1 sided. You reappear on the results screen at the end of the race though. You don't actually get stuck in the pits

Yeah, more clumsy than malicious I think. They just gun it regardless of whomever is there and their understeer deals with you. Poor racecraft. Sorry you bore the brunt of it.

This round was a big win in my eyes. At least Nurb was something familar and the Beetle felt really good. However I caught up to people either pitting in qualy or just slower than me meaning my first flyer was the best and could only set me 12th on the grid.
Got a Mustang into T1 and a few incidents ahead had me in P8/9 after the first lap. I kept it clean throughout and had a good view of a ding dong battle between a Lambo and a NSX ahead. It was good I was able to keep up with a few soft runners with my mediums. I pit on lap 10 from 4th and jump the NSX. I jump the lambo too when they pit. I'm now catching another beetle on the contra strat and pass them whilst 3 wide into the NGK. Yes I came out ahead of both. Nice and clean too.

The Lambo driver is naturally faster so after battle for a lap or two they end up ahead and I settle in to 6th until the end with little issues.
Positives:
I'm able to be competitive on one of my worst tracks.
I felt really comfortable in the Beetle.
A decent finish.

All in all a good round.

@OJBrit yeah I agree, funnily enough I find that silly incidents and poor race-craft are actually less frequent at the current Race C despite it being an objectively more difficult set of vehicles. I guess the consequences of collisions and bad driving in general are more severe in that race, and people kinda have a better idea of what they can get away with in Group 3s

I really want to go back to Chevy. Miss the Corvette but it’s just not quite competitive enough at the moment. Will probably return when the official season starts!

Decided to give it a go in the Ford GT. Race 1 total disaster of my own making. Lost control into turn 1, took people out, didn’t get better.

2nd go was better. Qualified 3rd, think that was my fastest ever lap there. Thought I was on for a podium. Oh the heartbreak of finding out that the people you’ve been battling were on the worse tyres the whole time. Tried to hold off a soft-clad Z4 for P3 but too many laps left. Finished P4.

Think DR C / GT3 is my proper home. Can just jump in with limited time and be near the front.

Hopefully they can fix Grand Valley and replace one of the later tracks - maybe the hateful Seaside and the CoD.

Yeah I've been using the Mustang Gr.3 almost exclusively in the Dailies (when there's a combo I actually like), and it just does everything better than the Corvette. The Corvette is easier to drive, particularly when accelerating out of slow corners, so I was able to be slightly quicker when we had Suzuka Gr.3 for Race C a while ago, but other than that the 'Stang has been my new go-to. I expect the Corvette will be the better choice if Spa is at least partially wet. I'm also gonna use the Corvette for the official season no matter what. At least the gap between it and the Mustang isn't insurmountable, unlike the gap to the GT-R (both classes) before the recent BoP update.

Still early but the leaderboard for the Gr4 round is a mix of FWD, AWD and RWD. Encouraging.
That is the first sign of the new BOP seemingly to maybe work. Since previously even manufacturers practice leaderboards in gr4 were dominated by 4WD cars (despite top split/second split drivers were not all in 4WD).

I feel you. I really wanted to run the new track. 🤬

This is still a valid lap for Nations.

The drainage being where the track limit is makes me think this track and car combo wasn't tested before.

So am I right in thinking that there will be no points for R1 Maufacturers irrespective of which track you raced on?

Also, was D/SR not affected?

Had a good race in GT2 Manu cup tonight,i was not expecting much, being not a huge fan of Nurburg GT.
Qualified 7th,went into the race thinking just be clean and stay on the track.
After a few laps was up to 4th with cars sliding off track, started with Mediums,by the time i pitted at the end of lap 11 was up to 2nd
and leader was on same strategy,he came out 1.8sec ahead ,got within .501 at the flag, solid 2nd,quite happy with that!

This company simply refuses to learn. Why do they insist on immediately stress testing their newly added content in the most high-stakes forum available? Why not make the new course Round 4 of the GTWS and run a daily C at the course first to test for all the possible undiscovered problems. Amateur hour.

I think DR / SR were affected (unless they role it back for those that were able to race at Grand Valley before the track change.

Points. I think no one will score regardless of which track they raced on.

Points rankings are all blank but my DR definitely changed after the 2 races I did.

I noticed this as well. Logged in to take a look at where all the points settled for this first round and it looks all blank. Don't think this first round registered any points unless just didn't post them yet, but its never taken this long.
