Is PD ever gonna leave the x2019 gimmick behind or are they being compensated to have it in events and the game?
No. They're proud of that hateful horrid thing amd are gonna keep shoving it down our throat until they come up with something worse.

As someone else mentioned about the car: it's amazing that it spins it's rear wheels losing traction even shifting into 5th gear yet somehow has so little torque it bogs down and couldn't pull a string out of a greased straw.

Sort of related with Michelin's absence in the promo graphic... Not only today's race does not have forced tire stickers, it does not have forced number boxes either. (Mandatory number boxes were absent from Sport Mode championships until the 2023 official season, but this race is recycled from 2024 pre-season exhibition season, where both are fully in effect.)

Finally. No more ruined liveries.

5 min to start, I don't want to do this race, I'm using AT and the shift from 3rd to 4th on the long straight is super long, but it is this or the X2019 and that race will I absolutely not do. :scared:

Edit.

10th place in quali, not bad, now to the main thing...

Edit.

Lost 7th place to a stupid mistake in the first corner in lap 6 and had Return To Track on, I was almost back on track when I was moved further down on the track than I was :boggled:, but ended up on 11th place in the end, I'll take it. :)

Had either a weird glitch or a cheater in my race. In the last lap I overtook the third in the chicane before the finish hill and a second before I crossed the line the guy on 15 (last place) who stood in his start position the whole race without driving became third and I was suddenly fourth. And he still stood before the finish line after becoming third. I have the replay of that race and can prove it... I did not receive any penalties which would have been applied. All drivers were placed after that guy...

Besides of that it was not my best or most enjoyable race.

I've only ever seen something like that once before. At Fuji once a car was left stationary in the middle of the main straight for half the race. Someone even smashed into it and wrecked their own race. But then half way through the stationary car suddenly joined us well up the order, as though he had been with us the whole time.

I guess some major lagging issue meant he was racing round and round on his own before properly connecting. If someone has managed to replicate that behaviour on demand it would be a very naughty cheat indeed.

Here is the link to my video (sorry for just filming it from the tv)

The first part is from my point of view and the second part from the point of view of the guy who went from 15th to 3rd.

Straightforward crappy internet. And they're both from your point of view, because you only have your replay and not his.

His will probably show everyone else being invisible.

Yeah you are right it's both from my perspective in that perspective.

Thanks for the explanation, must be nice to be able to race without other cars on the track...

It's a glitch. I've seen this before where one driver will, from his/her perspective, be racing all alone and no one else will be in the race at all; however, from everyone else's perspective this driver either isn't in the lobby at all or his/her car is sitting static somewhere. Then, at the end, it all "works itself out" so to speak.

This happened to Z28 on stream. After he got punted, he came back on track and no one else was driving. You can see he "passes" everyone for the lead, until crossing the line on the last lap where it then placed him last. SuperGT happened to be in this lobby and on his stream everyone was driving around just fine. So, yea.

When it comes to GT7, when in doubt it's a glitch.

Took me half a laps of practice to decide not to do this race. What an awful car to drive.
There is still something seriously weird about how the suspension works in this game. This car bounces over bumps like its suspension is raised and completely stiff.
I remember this race from the last time it ran...

... and it wasn't like this. I'm not even sure I can bring myself to try it on the wheel.

I've got mixed feelings about today's race. I feel like I have decent pace in the combo -- in the custom races I've been doing for practice, most of my laps are in the 55s, with a few breaking into the 54s -- but I can't seem to get through a race without picking up a track limit penalty or six.

Another concern is driving against humans. The AI is horrible. Even when set to hard difficulty, professional level rivals, starting from P16, I'm easily able to get by the lot of them on the first lap. I haven't had much luck joining lobbies, either. I just haven't had much practice taking alternate lines through the corners.

Oh, well. We'll see how it goes. Good luck to everybody racing!

What a bad raceday. First slot I entered was a low 84 points lobby in which I dc'd in qualifying.

Next and only other slot I could do today was 1pm. Great.. another low 88point lobby. I was super annoyed because my DR didn't change and i got into these lower point lobbies. Sucks a bit when you're on vacation and most people are at work.

Qualified on pole but was so much slower then in my testing.A low 1.53 in testing and 1:54.5 in quali.

Lost the race lead quickly because I made so many mistakes again and was super slow. My best time in race was a abysmal 1:56.4 and most laps were in the 57's. 😞 By the end of lap 9 I was 10s behind P1. Before turn 1 there was a yellow flag because P1 flew off the track.

Undeserved victory for 88points. Now I'm almost forced to do the GV race on saturday. Don't know if I have the time though.

Yeah, it seems the game "punishes" you with lower point lobbies after disconnecting from races (even if it wasn't your fault or will) or getting penalties in your last race. Happened to me too.

If you want to make sure your GTWS races are in good points, you can try to rebuilt your shadow "standing" in dailies ahead of GTWS participation.

After the first 2 rounds and having the GT number box over the number box for the league I'm in, I purposefully left that space blank for this race only to find there was no box to go there.
I'm still mad that in the final exhibition season in GT Sport they didn't have number boxes, so I had the opportunity to run my Gr.3 Nissan with its default number, #22.

Never loaded them at all despite being included on the livery. Raging.

Probably not going to do round 3 as my practice times are multiple seconds off similar rated drivers on my friends list.

Coupled with a disastrous evening at Red Bull Ring on the weekend, this "season" isn't amounting to much for me.

*by disastrous I mean crashing out of 4th place all on my own with 3 laps to go and then falling asleep on the couch and missing the remaining slots

Oh it's much worse on wheel...

Edit: Okay, that race could have gone badly at any time, but I was on the same piece of road as an Austrian driver who was totally down with the idea of racing room so we had a pretty close ten laps and about six overtakes without ever actually touching.

Finished 5th (him) and 6th (me), I think, with the leaders 14s up the road. Nearly lost a spot to another Austrian (who was totally down with the idea of racing room in qualifying) and I did let him past on the last lap but didn't clock he'd caught a 0.5s penalty.

Well that was extremely unenjoyable, my car was just mysteriously nowhere near anybody else on straight line pace and we had the stationary car glitch, so I got to lose one of the couple places I'd actually made up at the end to boot.

Definite low point of the season for me. Much as I appreciate them actually putting a road car round in, I feel things kind of fall apart when they're as slow as the Cappuccino. I've never been a fan of races where momentum is that important because any kind of actual racing makes you lose huge amounts of time.

Qualified P11 after having the car bounce out of control on my first qualifying lap trying to take turn 3, then going for a frenzied dash out of the pits to get around in time to actually set something. That lap ended up being really scruffy as well.

I got a good launch off the line and moved up to P10, but was then back down in P12 trying to keep it clean through turn 1. That then rapidly dropped to P14 due to being caught on the left going two-wide through the Esses with a German, and having to slow down at turn 5 to leave racing room.

Back up to P11 at the start of lap 2 due to three people understeering off turn 1, and then managed to catch up with P9 and P10 at the start of the back straight. Everything started falling apart again after that though when an Italian who'd understeered at turn 1 and slid off kept his foot in over the grass and charged straight into turn 3 from the side, forcing me to brake early. I was kind of expecting him to get a penalty for that excursion but nothing given.

Being forced to slow down like that allowed the gap behind me to close, and when I got a run on the Italian down the back straight, he tried to block me, then force me off the left when I switched sides. I pushed too hard trying to catch up with the two I was chasing before, started sliding at the chicane and dropped the positions again trying to catch the car.

From there frustration set in, I got sloppy trying to push forward, picked up a track penalty and eventually dropped it at turn 1 on the last lap. Finished P13.

This being on a Wednesday only serves to frustrate me even more. I appreciate I'm going to start to sound like a broken record (if I don't already) but who came up with this time schedule for weekdays... This is exactly the kind of situation where I'd give it another shot, but absolutely can't because work prevents me from doing anything except the final slot when they start so early in the day. We're not all full-time streamers...

Bring on Saturday. The X2019 tends to be one of my stronger cars, so here's hoping for something good.

I've ended up subconsciously and possibly deliberately opting out of this season. Even knowing 1 race regardless of position would put me in the top for local region so some credits.

But I have all the cars in the game near as damn it now so not really sure what credits are for other than the oil change and car wash now 🤷‍♂️

Well.... That was a waste of time.

I got home in time for the 4PM slot, and qualifying went ok, since i qualified P9. If i had matched my FP time, then i would've been in the top 5 (iirc).

However, the race never went well. Towards the end of the first lap, at the chicane, there was a small lag spike which caused the person behind me, to bump me slightly, which sped up my car and caused me to go on to the grass at the exit of the chicane, plus i received rear aero damage as well.

Then a couple of seconds later at T1, i carried a tiny bit too much speed into the corner and the car ran wide and on to the grass, and i tried slowing the car down to avoid the tyre barriers but unfortunately i couldn't and i crashed into one, which gave me front aero damage and front suspension damage.

I carried on for the rest of the lap but then i quit the race. I would've went again in the final slot at 6PM but i didn't feel like doing it.

Knew I had to get this one right because the next gimmick race I am not too excited about.

Did 3 races 1st one just got pushed out on T1 lap 1 so that one was done, 2nd race had a shot at a win until I choked it away with mistakes and penalties potential 173 points oh well.

Enter the 3rd try where everything went my way apart from qualifying 1st and going from 2nd on the grid into 1st right before T1 on lap 1 though I have to thank Kaioken_TTV for keeping it clean into T1 I just had a better start of the line.

From then on it was just focusing ahead not making mistakes and not picking up penalties of which I only picked up 1 entire race and that was all she wrote.

I enjoyed it too, for me it was pretty fun once I figured out how to stop the stupid thing bouncing....

Slot 1, I was in a low-ish lobby, door 2 in a half A+/A lobby. Won pretty comfortably for 216 points. But was hungry for more....

Slot 2, top split, did an almost perfect qualifying lap (which would have been pole), but went a touch wide on the final chicane exit and copped a penalty. No qualy time, started last and got caught up in someone over-correcting which sent me into the fence. Damage, ended up P10.

Slot 3, 250 point lobby, qualified 2nd with a 1.52.8, easily got into the lead off the start (you need to launch it with about 7000 rpm rather than holding it flat), and pulled a 4 second lead. Until I binned it all on my own on lap 6. Beautiful.

Now I'll probably have to do that Redbull car filth.....

After the disaster of round 2, I was looking forward to a nice relaxed Sunday drive in the Cappuccino. The FR layout and short wheelbase allows you to to throw this thing around Road Atlanta in rhe most spectacular way. In my opinion, the Cappuccino is what GT is all about. A Japanese classic that strips away all the mod cons were used to getting ,with the high performance GR cars. I set a free practice time of 1:52.276 which was only a couple tenths of Mikal Hizals time (a great yard stick) and enough to keep me in the top 200 in the world, up until race day. The competition on time trials is the most competitive it's ever been in GT7's life cycle. I entered the first slot in a 306 point lobby. Anything above 230pts would be enough to call it a day. My quali time for the race, was a shockingly bad 1:53.686 which I was lucky to make, after getting a penalty on the in lap and having to start again. I came across the line in 7th on the grid. "Great" I thought, I can work with this, as my race pace is usually consistent 54s. Things started well, I was half throttle on the red light, and floored it on green to get a good start. It seems most around me also knew that trick. The racing was incredibly close for the first 3 laps, a few people died who started ahead of me and then the field started to break away from about 10th place backward. I found myself in a group of extremely fast guys and we all took turns to bump draft depending on who was infront. It was all very civilised. I went off at T1 on lap 3 and just managed to stop the car from hitting the wall which sits at the top of the right hander just before the chicane. I went from 5th to 9th. But somehow, I manged to claw my way back to the leading pack, as they fought each other for positions. I settled into 6th place, about 2 sec from the leaders and managed to hold on the end of the race, with various attacks from a guy who was in 7th (Mario Sonic). 240 points and A DR increase, with a clean race bonus. A great day at the office for me personally. So much could have gone wrong in this race, so I was just happy to survive and score my best points of the season. That's it for me this season. I think I've got 630 points total. An average of 210 points per race. I'll take it. On to manufacturers and looking forward to the update. Best of luck to those participating at GV in the rocket ship Redbull.
