Ignoring the fact the timeslots in general are still absolutely awful... why on earth is 30 laps of wet Spa on a Wednesday!? I literally think that's an impossible race for most people with any form of life to make?

2pm I'll be at work. 4pm I'll be at work.
6pm sure I'll be home, maybe, but I don't think my partner (or me) will fancy waiting til god knows when to eat because I've had to dedicate to that behemoth of a race.

Absolutely asinine decision making. At least put it on Saturday where the timeslots make it less of a joke.

Any tips for x2019 for a good start off the line?
I find praying and closing my eyes is my best chance of getting it off the line...

2nd gear and TC3 and if you can try to time the lights rather than just bouncing it off the limiter as it just hits peak torque instantly. Anywhere between 1/3 and 2/3 of the rev range can give a smoother acceleration so less TC intervention.

Had a play around with a load of cars at Suzuka, my worst of the tracks from the upcoming season. The Alfa was the best through the bends but in BoP conditions it gets destroyed on the straights. The RX-Vision was probably the best overall but I can’t listen to the screeching for over an hour at Spa.

In the end I went back to the manufacturer from my first GTWS season.

Hopefully I’ll end up more Alonso than Stroll.

Yeah I went 650, it's competitive if you can nail it (I can not)

Did a practice race with x19. Have auto, TCS5 ASM on. Started on RM . pitted end of lap 15 for RS and fuel. Fueling is slooow. Pitted lap 25 for RH. Surviving the first two big braking zone with heavy damage with be challenging. Race strat will prob be 17 RM 9RS and 1RH.

That Skyline Silhouette got a massive buff. It's power/weight is far and away better than any other car. If that stupid things becomes OP at Daytona I am going to be very annoyed.
Last time in Manufacturer's at Daytona the '97 Supra and '99 GT-R were OP because they could skip changing tires during the pit stop and still have enough tire life to go to the end. They lost 60 and 80kg respectively, so that's probably gonna happen again.

Interesting and ironic. I signed with Ford and the Ford GTLM is the the GR.3 choice. Naturally, as it’s the latest Ford race car in this game, but it’s ironic since the Mustang GT3 is Ford’s newest real world GT(3) contender. Oh well, saves me spending 1,000,000 for the collection.

PD insists on mid-week races with early slots 😵. Why?
Do they think that their core playerbase are kids living under parents roof or unenployed adults?
I will miss SPA for work reasons and what a shame because it looks like a superb race

Daytona is probably the only one I can - or even care to - do. Went with Dodge. Despite the BoP update, it was the fastest car for me around Daytona of the handful of cars I tried; followed by the Genny. It will likely be not-so-great on the other three tracks, but moot point.

That being said, I believe that Honda will be a good all around choice with the often overlooked Alfa being a dark horse.

Thinking of McLaren for the alt; the F1 isn't too bad around Tona, although it is quite thirsty (4% and 7% more fuel use over five laps than the Viper and Genny, respectfully).

Good gravy I hope the Daytona race is at least partially at night!

Maybe we will finally get that lovely new Mustang now it’s a Daytona race winner. PD likes that kind of thing.

One and done.

Thought I was going to finish first when I had my last pit to put on Hards, but being in VR I didn't realise that the driver who came first had already done his one lap on them.

Also had the car who crossed the line first cop a 2 minute penalty for not using all 3 compounds.

Edit: just recording the replay to chuck on YouTube and it turns out I had my left hand indicators on all race.

Also yellow flags in VR are close to indistinguishable on the main straight at 300km/h. Luckily it was a lapped car who had spun so he was already ghosted but I didn't see him at all until I went through him.

Everything went better than expected... got pole with a 1.27.6xx, hence started on softs. Escaped the pack after the firat corner and could build aup a few seconds (dont know how much because of vr). Got 9 laps out of it and went for mediums and fueled up. When I came out of pit I had 4 or 5 guys in front of me with different strategy, but could overtake 2 and the others pitted a lap or two later. End of lap 25 I went for the hards and had over 4 seconds gap when I drove over the finnish line. At least two guys didn't use all compounds so received a 2 minute penalty.
122 points for the win :)

Once again we meet in the lobby @LogSwapper 😂

1st race attempt just went abysmal bad qualifying P10 then crashed out T1 and strategy wasn't good H,M,S finished 9th afiak just erased it from my memory.

2nd race went a lot better with qualifying into 5th took advantage of the inside line and a ok start into T1 went into 2nd place, then hovered around top 4 until the pitstop from mediums to hards for 1 lap and to softs the last stint I keep over fueling for some reason 44%+- was too much still left with 0.4 or 0.5 at the finish line.

Want to apologize for not so clean pass to 3rd place finisher on the last lap I am and was pretty desperate in this race knowing the fatigue that will come from having to retry it. Need much improvement in my race craft.

I'll be doing some testing but my instinct is to say that running the soft tyre for as long as possible is the best start for anyone who isn't A+.
Two soft stints for me. The Miyazono strat usually works out best in the X2019, I don't think today will be an exception.
