Welcome To The Grand Am 85 Laps Of Daytona!

The purpose of this spot race is for FUN! Also so we can test the specs of the new cars we are using for season 3 of the Rolex Sports Car Series, here on GTPlanet! Not part of that? No Problem! The specs That are going to be posted below are going to need to be changed, in GT. The DP specs should be good.

We will be having both classes used in the real 24 hour race, Daytona Prototype and Grand Touring. DP will be represented by Group C cars and GT is represented by the real life car's street car counterparts, with ALL GT Auto Aero! Of course we will be using Daytona Road Course, for 85+1 pace lap, so the race will total 86 laps around this gem of a race course! The race will be on a Saturday, September 29th! Room up at 5:30 est!

We will be having cautions during the race! What will determine a caution? If 2 or more drivers are in a crash, ALL drivers involved must type "caution" in the in game chat box. At that time, Both class leaders will slow down until everyone in their class catches up to them. As soon as the second driver types caution, the pits are CLOSED. If only 1 driver types caution, KEEP GOING! 2 Drivers MUST type caution for it to be a Caution!!! When everyone is caught up to their classes, the next time the pack comes across the pit lane, BOTH classes will go down the pit lane! After exiting the pits, the next time across the start/finish line the race will resume green!

The split of cars will be 6 DP and 10 GT. 2 of each car. We will be using any racing tire! I'll make the poll to see if we want to move the tire minimum to racing mediums, as we're about 50/50 in the series right now on switching. If we change to racing mediums, then you will be able to switch between racing mediums and hards :).

We will be using Daytona Road Course, of course! 1 Formation Lap which will be driven at 60mph, 100kph. That speed will be used for cautions too. That being said, the DP leader should slow WAY down and wait for everyone to catch up!

I'll take a seat with Ferrari OR Chevy. My testing shows HUGE differences in specs in the other cars, but, my Ferrari's already in specs listed.

I'd like to do this. In DP of course. Sauber or Toyota (in that order).

Alright, I must say, me and cnd have been chatting about taking the sauber, if shin goes to GT.

So, I'll reserve you a spot in the Toyota, and depending on what happens, I'll put ya in the sauber :)

Super!

Anyone care about the time? If no one says anything I think we'll just do it at Rolex's usual time.

Technically... I could call off the MURs, in such a case, since we all know who won.

Yea, the MUR's are really just post season fun races at this point, still fun, but this would be a nice change of pace. At least I think.

I'll take the Lotus.

Nice!

And before I forget, you don't have to go off track to let the DP guys through, well stick behind you for a turn. Just let us past on a straight.

I'll put ya down now :)
