Grrr.... :grumpy:

I was doing an A (I think) licence test and I got a x.xx.250 and the gold requires a x.xx.250. And I got given a silver.

[edit] Anyway, I got my own back on the stupid licence by easily getting the gold. Thank goodness.

I've lost a race in which I've had the exact time as another car, and won a different one. So the only explanation I can come up with is that the timer goes out to many decimal points and just shows us three. The gold standard for that license is probably x.25000000, and you might have gotten x.2501. That's annoying though - they should have given it to you.

This happened to me a couple weeks ago: I was trying to get the gold for the 2nd B-license test: the one where you have to stop the Fiat Coupe, and I got the exact same # as the test requires for a gold and it gave me a silver. I was so pissed, man, just cuz I had been trying for almost an hour or something.

You'd been trying for an hour to stop the Fiat? Man talk about bad brakes.

This is kind of off-topic, but can you get the licence prize cars more than once? I would like to know before I race modify the Concept Car... :)

Well, technically you can't win the cars more than once. However, there is a way around that. If you go to the main title screen, the last option on that last is "Transfer Data" or "Trade data" (don't remember exactly). Load your game up and go in there. When it asks you which memory card to access so you can trade data, load your own card up again, and you'll be able to buy the car from yourself again. You don't lost the car when someone buys it from you, so you'll have 2. (I have a stock one and a purple Racing Modified one, plus the Le Mans version ;) )

I finished my Gold Super License last month, I feel so cool. :P

Cool. Thanks for that. Now to get duplicating!!! :)

edit: did that. but where does the money go???

I have trouble with the S-Licence. Guess I'm a bad player :guilty: . Waaaah.

For the majority of the racetracks, I set a racing line and follow it, and occasionally it goes through a bit of grass :( You know what that means.
Is it just me or are the license tests easier than in GT1?

Oh yeah. They are way easier. Probably GT2 is easier than GT1 because they wanted to make the game more accessable to beginners. GT1 really is a bit of a driver's enthusiast game (meaning that it's advanced) and Polyphony probably got flooded with complaints about how hard those license tests are. I still think some of the GT2 tests are hard to get a gold in, though, I don't care waht anyone says! Some that come to mind: the B-license circle test with the Nissan March, the Viper going down the corkscrew, the slalom test with the Peugeot 106...oh vey.

Both Slalolm tests were a pain, although the one wirh the 106 was a little worse. Another terrible one was the J-turn with the Miata and the Sylvia.

On the other hand, I loved all the tests at Laguna Seca. Hard? You bet. But it is incredibly satisfying to be able to watch your replay the first time you pull off a gold on it, your car looks like it's being driven by a complete professional. Not to mention that once you do get the hang of it, you can easily own anybody who hasn't in a 2-player batter. ;)

I usually save a replay of any Gold that I win if it takes over an hour to earn. I still have a replay of the Prelude in GT1 (I think it was a Prelude)...the one in which you have to make that left turn at Deep Forest. That was frustrating! After awhile I put some Jane's Addiction in the stereo and just did it over and over again. Finally, I got it! Whenever I start to get frustrated i just remind myself of what an awesome driver I'll be once I get that gold and can move on!

Awww all you hard working people... :guilty: I get frustrated and settle on bronze
I guess that's correct that GT1 was way too tough in the license test area (also there is no way to amke easy money w/o A-I as far as I know), and one doens't need an S in GT2 to physically DO anything. It's for show, right?

Actually, the S license allows you to participate in the Event Generator, which randomly selects tracks and other cars to compete against you. It's supposed to be competitive but I've heard from others that it kinda sucks. I don't know, I've never got an S license yet.

It does kind of suck, the races are only two laps and even on Pro they are still easy. The Pro events are a 5 round championship, each round is only 2 laps (again).

New game mode, no kidding? Too bad I'll never get the S at this rate  I collectioneer too much... Anyone wanna try the Toyota Aristo V300? Tuned to 700 horses.... :dunce:

The S Licences are not that bad even though you have a greater chance of crashing near the end, it took me less than a week to get all golds(4 days)
:)

Mmmm'kay. I decided what the heck and went on with the licenses. I got my S class and am now working on golds. So far I've gotten 9 B license golds. The last one is tough but I'm sure I'll get it soon. ;) Is it just me or are the rally licenses WAY too slack? My first time on Tahiti Maze I got a gold with 3 seconds to spare. I didn't even know where I was going... :dunce:
