It(yours) was freezing mine too if that makes you feel any better :)
But seriously what is going on, I notice a slight freeze/pause every time i cross the line - ghost or no ghost. Numerous peoples ghost have the same outcome - as they cross the line the game freezes without recovery regardless of where im placed on the track
 
^^ Yeah PR1VATEJ0KER your ghost car freezes mine too.

^ I've noticed the same thing. Whenever I, or the ghost, crosses the start line it freezes for a split second.

Unbelievable im the most gutted person ever now....... My 2 fastest ever sectors and i completely blow the last sector.

Haha I know how you feel, I was over a car length ahead of learner driver until I completely choked the last bend. Not a happy bunny.


Also I dont think you will be able to do it on a fake account, I couldnt even see the American GT academy and I registered for it.

Has anyoone been having problems with the rankings? i.e; When playing for a long time and eventually hitting a faster lap I dont get the box in the bottom left telling me my new position. So I exit and it doesn't attempt to update my time and the leaderboards are all blank. I stay signed in to the PSN but it seems GT5 is disconnecting from the server.

It is possible.. As Tony the greek is on our UK top 20.
 
I've stopped using my own ghost, and ghosts all together i know where all the time is now and know what i can do just got to do it without choking :P.
 
Im 16th in the uk with a 1:17:993.
If im in the "zone" i can beat 1st place through the first 2 sectors by a car length but i hit the 3rd sector and it feels like he has 10 or 20bhp more than me. If i dont find this secret nitrous button soon im gonna smash my G25 up lol :@
 
Hi all,

I'm a Pad user and currently doing 2.19s and trying to get into 2.17s, if it can be done by other people I feel I can get there. I see plenty of room to improve my laptime so should get there soon with more practice :)

What do you guys think the cut off time will be for the top 20 at the end of the comp?

If you're ineligible, then your appearance in the leaderboards has no true value. It's like you were never there. Nobody eligible loses his place @ the top 20.

It actually has true value to those who are eligible, those who give a damn. Last year I qualified 19th at the very last minute and it meant the world to me, an achievement that I'll never forget. If I had been 21st, regardless of making it to the finals or not, it would not have tasted the same, whatever the fineprint or details regarding inelgible drivers. I knew about 3 people in the top 20 were ineligible, but I still wanted my name in the top 20. It was my target, and those this year who make a similar effort deserve to achieve it.

Well I have informed the organisers of who the ineligible drivers are from other countries who are running the UK or French time trial and even though those people can't be removed from the leaderboard at this stage, they have made a note and won't waste the time and effort trying to contact said drivers if they make the top 20.

My hope is that like last year, those who were ineligible will lose interest when it gets serious in the last few days and those with the genuine motivation of a territorial final spot will go the extra mile.

Is the PSN down for anyone else? I'm getting the 8002A203 error when I try to connect
 
^ Yeah. PSN is down for maintanence tonight I believe. The only way to have avoided the error was to log in before it went down for maintanence and keep it logged in. Then you could continue to play.

I switched my Playstation off and then back on worked a charm :).

@ Marky o man bad news do you have a local shop that could perhaps help?

edit: I must have reset my playstation at the right time as i did get that error restarted and was fine a few hours ago, seems like the rest of my friends are struggling also :S.

Meh, I just got a better time when I was playing offline there so I'd rather not :sly: Anyway I'm off to see the Adjustment Bureau with the missus in a few minutes so hopefully things will be back up and running when I get back.
 
ive had the same problem error 8002a802. also had the ghost freeze three times yesterday as it crossed the line. in the end i loaded it without a ghost at all and it worked. also its not remembering/loading all the available ghost replays. sometimes only shows that one ghost is available to load, then next time there are all of them there. :grumpy:
can someone please make whoever can sort this get it sorted asap! must be happening to thousands!

I just looked into the server error. The psn is down until 7pm Pacific time which is 8 hours behind gmt! So here is no playing the tt tonight as you cannot even access seasonal events. Pretty annoying. :-((

MarkWebber, it's possible to create account in other countries. I did it to be able to try the challenge.

I think you just register as if you were from the UK for example although don't quote me 100% :).

Dan.. Do you not have the same TT in the seasonal events? I know the US guys did.. Not sure about Aus and the other non eligible countries.. 👍

Very true :) apologies, the Spanish and Portuguese/French and Swiss leader boards all look very competitive :).

My consistency has been amazing today hopefully tomorrow I'll pull another one of those insane laps out and actually get my decent time :).
