Good for them aussies. :) Nicest guys I've met at least on iRacing. They always call you "mate" and whatnot.

Okay guys, I'm a noob here so bare with me. Exactly how fierce is the competition on this thing?

Depends where you are from if I'm honest, if your in any of these; Iberia, France, Italy, UK, Poland. Your in for a pretty tough time. If your an Australian, they have some pretty epic drivers to! Other countries may not be as competitive but the overall competition is pretty nuts, global leaderboards are always hugely competitive, we are talking thousandths of a second!

I totally understand. That's pretty much what I figured, though. I'm in the US and I know from a chart someone put together, there were a crap ton of competitors from the states in last years competition. So as far as the demo is concerned, I'll be only competing against my fellow countrymen and if I were (Lord willing) to progress, then it becomes a national thing, correct?

You'll be up against the other competition in the US straight from the off I would assume, unless more countries have been added to your region or indeed if it has turned global. Previous years with such a large entrance pool to your national final it has been easier to qualify in the US vs other countries, your still going to have to give it some though :)!

Okay, I gotcha. That doesn't sound too bad but I still gotta do work to get somewhere! I appreciate the help, man. One last dumb question. All of the info is saying GT6. I have GT5. Am I going to need to buy the newer game or does that matter since the demo is a download?

I would think you will need GT6 although please don't take my word as 100% correct, as nobody knows apart from the organisers! Personally if you can afford it I'd buy it and try and compete in whatever you can to either improve or get you into the best shape virtually you can get :)!

I figured that was the case. It's about 30 bucks used so I'll get started on that asap. Thanks again for your help!

It seems likely that the US will get it again, but of course nothing is confirmed. Regardless i still want/need to be quicker. And with all these winners does Darren Cox want to run a Nismo GT3 cup or something? haha

I love that idea! Just tweeted Darren Cox about it...probably won't get a reply but if you don't knock on any doors none of them will open :D
