I completed ~ 1hr sessions Wed & Thur. and unable to improve on my initial time, even after the benefit of studying the videos posted by @mcsqueegy & @Giorgio_57 (thank you both ). My initial lap used more or less the same racing line, maybe the use of the data logger and a "alien" replay would have helped me find my problems.

@GTP_CargoRatt Is my understanding correct that everyone can participate in the first 5 time trials regardless of result? The 6th event is the only one that is limited to the top 10? I see a few comments about being eliminated as a result of this event.

"Including this event, there will be 5 weekly time trials with a 6th and final, winner take all event...6 events total. To be eligible to compete in the 6th event, you must participate and place 10th place or better in each of the first 5 events. The 6th event will be the final, winner take all event"

In other words, anyone can compete in the first 5 events, but one must place 10th or better in each event to be elidgable for the 6th and final event. The final event is limited to those 10, or less, people that have finished 10th or better in rounds 1-5.

GT Academy 2015 "A Prelude To A Dream" Time Trial #1

Nissan 300ZX 2by2 (Z32) '98 @ Fuji Speedway "F"

1. Mode: Arcade Mode > Single Player > Time Trial
2. Grip Reduction on Track Edge: Real
3. Only ABS 1 is allowed, no other aids should be used.
4. All cars will be completely stock, including tires and NO OIL CHANGE unless otherwise stated. Brake balance is to be kept at the stock setting of 5/5 also.
5. Use of the Handbrake is Prohibited
6. No corner cutting. Red and White rumbles are track.Period of Availability 2/28 - 3/6 (Closes at Midnight Friday 3/6 EST. U.S.) Please convert to your local time zone.

Just to clear things up, anyone and everyone can compete in rounds 1-5, even if you didn't place in the top 10 in the previous rounds. Participation is encouraged to keep the top 10 on their toes and pushing their limits. If you can knock one of them out of the top 10 and eliminate them, feel proud. The 6th and final round is the one where only those that have managed to finish in the top 10 in all previous rounds are allowed to compete. It could be a two person shootout or it could be a full field of 10 fighting it out. If you wanted, and you've been eliminated, you are welcome to run in the final round just for comparison purposes, but your times won't be counted. I will only tally up the finalists times. Hope this clears things up a bit.

Also, don't worry, the cars will get faster and the events will get harder......baby steps.

Just jump right in. 👍 The first round is now closed, but you are more than welcome to run laps just for comparison purposes if you like just to see where you rank. Your results will not be counted though since that round is over. Please only post times for the second round which has just started. Also, I should note, that since you are a new comer and have missed round 1, you are automatically ineligible for the final round.

Yes, you can compete in rounds 2-5 but since you missed round 1, you are automatically eliminated from the 6th and final round. Still, I encourage you to compete in rounds 2-5....its good training/practice and you could also get the satisfaction of knocking someone out of the top 10. That's a pretty neat goal considering all the great talent we have here so far.
