Unfortunately, they don't. Even after signing up for a DropBox account. Common sense says it should launch when encountering one of it's videos.

Look, I really do appreciate your help. I can promise I'm not the only person stuck. Jordan didn't create the iPhone app just for me. And there is an update today. Adds FaceBook sharing and some other goodies.

I'm sure there is awesome footage. If it was just someone's GT5 damage videos, it wouldn't be a big deal worth deep discussion.

The VLC app might be able to play them, I hope.

:/ Sorry to hear that...Graf says vimeo is iphone friendly...I'm trying to figure it out right now...

edit: link to how to make videos mobile friendly...http://vimeo.com/faq#mobile but it doesnt look like if it isn't mobile friendly that there is a way to view it :(

edit: sorry for the "you crossed a line" outburst, but this is a huge deal to me. A bunch of those guys are good buddies of mine and I'm stressed to hell for them :)

Reading the comments on the USA academy updates and it's just embarrassing. Nothing but pathetic, low life, sore losers bashing racers who are better than them. This is just sad.

Yea, well there are really sore losers. It is just annoying to read someone saying they are entitled more than the people who earned the spot. This is the new American child ><;

I think this whole bicker-fest about iPhones and Vimeo can be dropped now. Issue duly dealt with, moving on...

Go Bryan go! :D

Unreal to see this unfold almost right before my eyes. It's almost like I'm there! Maybe next year PD will expand to the rest of North America... we do have some fast guys up here in the North.

When I get home, with a more solid internet connection to upload a 720p HD video, I will upload to YouTube.

Here is a amazing video of Nick Fontana - GTP_Blindside20 in a flawless race. Pole and win. Enjoy.

I can only press Command-R so many times in 2 days :D

You most certainly do have some quick canadians up there.

Grafpt, what is your Vimeo username? Trying to search. Could you post a link to your page please?

Neither of the VLC apps worked.

What are they tagged as?

From the FB page :dopey:

2011 GT Academy Finals:
The last of the drivers have crossed the finish line. The officials are currently reviewing the replays, where each race is triple checked by all 8 judges to make the final decisions on penalties and points.

Stay tuned for the full announcement where we'll reveal the 16 drivers who will move on to Silverstone,... England. Who did you choose?

I am glad they are reviewing all the replays. I am impressed with how GT Academy seems to be handling the end of this competition. This is a life changing moment for these guys.

Come on, results...

Really hoping Choate makes it! I wish we knew the point standings after the 3rd round. Looked like he was on the bubble for top 16 after round 2

Blindside did have a perfect run, that must have been tough up front, was fun to watch.

This is intense and I hope the community members carry on.

Great driving! Only 3 laps though? How many laps were given to qualify?

Yeah, I really wish the displays would have the driver's names.

I was a little surprised that no one used the draft down the straight at the end of lap 1/beginning of lap 2 to try and get him at turn 1. That would have been their only chance. Once those guys battled for 2nd, Blindside was gone. A great run from the pole.

These are pretty short races. Not sure how many races occur in each round. Maybe Grafpt can give us some info on that.
They must not have that much time to fit all this in. It would be nice if they got in some longer races, maybe even ones that took pit stops and tire wear into account. Running the IS-F series from the forums here, really opens your eyes up to tire conservation and strategy.

Grafpt, a request for you.. Would you mind giving us the structure of the competition. I know that there are 4 drivers in each group.. But would you mind telling us, how many laps/how much time for qualifying and practice. How many laps for the race. How many races in the round. How the matchups were determined. Thanks man!

I wasn't asking because of tire strategy, but that is a good point. I was asking more because certain tracks only have 1 or 2 clean passing zones. It takes a lap to learn your opponent's braking strategy and line and sometimes 2-3 laps to get the right opportunity. If everyone gets a clean launch and runs relatively clean, you may never get the chance to pass except if you catch a good draft (something I'm surprised didn't happen in that last video). So in that regard, getting the pole position and a clean entry to turn 1 on cold tires is essential.

Can someone be kind enough to post a link to the FB page so that I can add it. Thanks, and Grafpt... Good stuff keep it up and thanks for putting your time into this so that those of us who are not there can get the info! Much appreciated.

And he tried to spent about a week driving around to different stores to find it.

Lol.. That is funny that he drove around, looking to represent. That would have been very funny for those of us that understand. I am rooting for him, future Mrs. D.

Much agreed. Racing clean at this level, makes it very tough to get the pass done in this short of a time... Unless you can catch a draft, as you stated.

Haha I bet you loooved that :D I told him to go to walmart, but didn't he listen? nooooo

They didn't actually have anything. Weird

Also, about the practice/races

Steve said one lap reconnaissance, one lap qualifying and 3-4 lap race (more time based maybe?) and that was it. That was also for the first day so it might have been different for day 2.

That's immensely weird...owell he had to wear the uniform anyway :D

Thank you for this update. Amazing, one lap to figure it out before qualifying. These guys really need to know these tracks. A huge disadvantage if the competitor hadn't run that track before. I am guessing from these videos, and the info above, that they didn't run any eifel or other custom track layouts.

Our only shot at it would have been in the check-in pictures. Would have been classic!

Well my respect for the winning drivers went up significantly on that. I assume most are familiar with the cars already but only 2 laps on the track before a 3-4 lap sprint is insane.

They were looking for the best GT5 player, so as long as they ran non-created tracks (which you're right, it looks like they didnt) it makes sense that the qualifying and race would be that short. Plus, every one of those guys picks up a track EXTREMELY fast.

Our only shot at it would have been in the check-in pictures. Would have been classic!

I would have enjoyed it more if he had come in the pink bunny suit I picked out for him ;)
