GT Academy July 2013!!

Louie_Schumii, it's a lot cheaper to travel to Silverstone from the Middle East or even South Africa than it is from Australia or New Zealand. :)

And I'm pretty sure Ingram meant he was ineligible due to being a past competitor. I'm ineligible for two reasons myself... not a previous competitor though.

I hope we can change BB at GT Academy TTs, as I am driving without any assists :) The last GTA have the BB locked at 5/5, it was a pain to trail brake:grumpy:Stupid as no real car have equal brake bias.

The fast will find a way ;)

:) The fast ones always uses at least one assist. BB should be user discretion just like seasonal's TT with given car by PD. I just wanted proper BB when I drive:dopey:. From the past events, they seemed to lock the BB to filter out no ABS drivers like me and I am using stick, it gets really hard to get into top 3000 with 5/5 BB and no ABS  I am not eligible to get into finals anyway, so it's all for fun :)

They lock BB so that it's more fair, everyone has equal equipment, no secret setups or anything 👍

Not everyone has equal equipment - I am with stick; no secret setup, BB is available on GT5 TTs, I don't see that as an advantage if everyone can use their own BB that will suit their driving style:sly: BB is very personal, one's BB will not always work with others, when someone can post a fastest time with personalized BB, others can challenge him with his own personalized BB - and both will have maximize whatever skills they have - fair and square.

Anyway, I'm not putting my hopes up high :) If it's locked again, I will still post times with no ABS, will try to get into top 1000 on all of them :)

Respect for using no ABS with stick 👍 This way we all have to adapt to go faster though, for me I prefer for it to be set as I wouldn't want to faff around trying different BB all the time :)

I am hoping the brake balance physics will be fixed in GT6, no more 5/5 default bias, maybe make it hidden if it's locked and the brake bias will work like in real life - more front than rear.

In GT5, cars can be driven with no ABS - high BB like 9/6  and with ABS, rear bias works fine even on FF cars :dunce: This needs to be improved.

I can tell you this - the cars behave much more realistically under braking in GT6. The alterations to the tire and suspension models have helped massively. I think you will be pleased, probably not wholly satisfied, but pleased :)

Cool, that's good to hear 👍

I haven't seen RA menu on GT6 vids yet, I wonder what's the default BB- nvm, we'll find out soon enough :)

How about GT Academy 2014? Nissan Motorsport are thinking of having a Nissan driver race a V8 supercar for the enduros next year.

Do you have to pre-register on the interwebz or anything, or do you just download the demo on Tuesday and get to racing?

In order to do the time trial, you don't have to register. You only have to register for National Finals eligibility. Information on that will be detailed soon. Last year, National Finals registration opened up around two weeks into the time trial and stayed open for a little over two weeks.

Thread on registration last year here:

That could very well be a possibility. I'd have to read more about it elsewhere but speculating on what we can see from Nismo Australia's social network press release the most likely outcome would be having an established works driver join their Bathurst assault or possibly a seasoned GT Academy graduate like Lucas or Jann.

However they have surprised us before and Kelly Racing (aka Nissan Motorsport Australia) do have experience in running semi-professional guys at Bathurst through the Shannon's Insurance Supercar Showdown (see below).

You'd need all the stars to line up exactly where you'd want them to at exactly the right time for this to actually materialize though. So those hoping that this would happen might want to get on their knees and start praying or actually have a say in what direction Sony and Nissan should be taking GT Academy.

Hello members, I express my interest in having the GTA return to Australia, hopefully my words will be heard, Australia has too much talent to let go to waste! Good luck everyone who is eligible!

Are you talking about Wildcard events?

Well, those usually happen at big racing events and such. Maybe the Silverstone GP? Or whatever Sportscar races roll through. Last year that had a good handful of events, I know at least one was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Otherwise, those are sort of kept secret until a few days before they actually happen, so no one will really be able to say.

i think it's not a Wildcard i'm asking because i know in Poland this Live Event start in this Saturday so i looked on the informations when it is in UK. In Poland this events are in biggest shoping centers in citys in country so i thought it's the same in UK.

P.S sorry for my english i'm not used to it yet:P

V8 Supercars is something I'd love to race in, but it would be great to see a driver from down under in a driving seat for the top racing series down there!

Likewise I'd love to race BTCC for Nissan, I'd so love nissan to come back to the BTCC the Primera was such a nice looking Touring car!

But before all that, I'd love to know regional final dates!! Even if I don't make it to the finals I'd love to come down and visit!

The Dutch wildcard event will take place at Zandvoort during the Masters of F3, GTHQ will cover the event aswell as the F3 race with Jann, the FIA GT race with Wolfy, Lucas and Mark and the Dutch GT race with Wolfy. More (Dutch) info here, also to win VIP tickets to the event!

Has someone an idea when and where the live events will take place in germany? Or is there somewhere a page where you can find a live event list.

I'm from sweden and will compete in the gt academy, but I don't understand how it works, I have a few questions... I'm in Europe region btw,,, 16 countries.

Will top 20 gt players in each country meet together and compete for coming to silverstone? So will it be the fastest guy from each country that goes past to silverstone from europe region?

I'm not sure, if it was different in the other EU countries last year, but in Austria the top 16 players from the online qualifier, the top 8 players from an offline event and the top 8 from a nissan customer only event got an invite for the national final.
The national final lasted two days, where on the first day there were only gaming challenges and the best 16 players of those qualified for the second day. On the second day, there was a gaming challenge (time trial) at first, then a time trial in a real 370z, an interview with sony/ps/nissan press representatives and a fitness test.
The first two after this were sent to the european final in Silverstone.

Wasn't last year you get an event every 2 weeks for 8 weeks? From this it says that from July 2nd to July 28th is the events which means it would be shorter? and then the demo until the end of august.

Thanks! Do you know which tracks they raced on in gt5 the first day? Then I can practise on those tracks :)
