GT Academy July 2013!!

Damn, Patrick was only 2 off and it still scrubbed his lap. :indiff:

Yeah, that was messed up. I know they set the boundaries, and everyone had to abide by them, but that's way too far in

Congrats to Arman, hopefully I'll get to see you at the National Finals, and I'm sure Patrick will be there as well

Congratulations Loco! You did awesome. Great job. Doing TRC proud yet again. I look forward to seeing you compete and making it to Silverstone.

Wow, sounds like a tough break for Patrick! :ouch: Thanks so much for confirming the date, guys.

Tough break Pat :(

But I know you can still make it in through the TT!

Happy for you Arman. You TRC guys are all built the same wtf?! xD

And yeah, they'll have Racer X come in as the 33rd National Finalist.
Last year, they eliminated 1 guy right away with a TT in order to get it down to an even 32. Should be a more interesting method this year, don't know what it could be though.

Wow, that's a lot sooner then the July 11th date I heard a few times. Gotta get my PS3 fixed much sooner now.

Get a Super Slim that comes with a year of Plus, and a 2 year warranty from wherever you get it. By the end of that (hopefully sooner), GT7 will be ready for PS4. :)

I can only think of 2 halfway fair ways to narrow the field to 32. Top time gets a by in the first bracket or like last year, shotgun TT and low man goes home.

I'm sure there are some the smart folks can think of something different.

Does anyone know if the outdoor booth is still there today? Couldn't make it yesterday, but I'd love to drop by and check it out if there's a demo available outside.

Congrats Armen! Go TRC!

^ This picture was taken in my hotel room last year when I went to Nationals in San Diego. Armen made the drive down from LA (in traffic) just to bring me and Scooty some In N' Out burger and chill for a couple hours. He's a good dude!

Props to Patrick, who no doubt will be at National Finals again this year. I'm fully confident of that.

Congrats Arman. As for Patrick i'm sure he'll make his waythis time through the online portion (amazed he didn't last year as fast as he is). I'm sure there is a little more fuel to the fire then last year. Hopefully i can be there at nationals again myself with ya Armen.

Do you think he can bring some In 'n Out to Michigan? I've never had their food :( I'll take the biggest most filling burger they've got and some fried shrooms.

Damn. Those TRC boys are quick! :scared:

When I was in L.A last year, my brother was really looking forward to trying the In 'n Out burger place. He came back after eating and he said it was disgusting.

Well done Arman, I didn't see it unfortunately as I was on the motorway, but good luck to the finals...

For the rest of us competing good luck, and remember have fun! If you don't think you can make it give it a shot, you never know whats going to happen with the new physics.. If you want some tips you can fire away and I'm sure anybody will help. I'll certainly help, as I've been doing all the way upto this competition this year but for everyone good luck 👍 hopefully see some of you at the finals if I make it again this year 👍

Shoot, I must have just missed it. I have to admit Arman was who I was rooting for after i met him this week, but I considered him the under daog, after seeing the other guys set fast time. But this is great!

not streaming right now...

I'm watching the live feed right now. The Racer X has been over for more than an hour.

You might want to pay more attention to the time in which people post time sensitive or specific things like this.

TImes were changing all the time at the expo (were things will start, when things will end) so i thought one of the PS guys said it would be at noon. Either way I was busy this morning anyways.

So what tracks were the TT on, and where did Patrick make the mistake?

Just Silverstone in 370z. The turn exiting to the back straight. The penalties were way too sensitive, 2 wheels off is not a penalty!

This is sad to see that they haven't learned from last year that they need to use something VERY difficult when they are looking for top drivers. 3 guys running 1:02.2 when they only had a few tries at it means it was simply too simple a test. Who is to say who is really better with those times? Doesn't leave much hope that the time trials will not have a similar issue again this year.

Now if it was a longer track, perhaps the entire Silverstone at the very least, you may be able to actually have some significant distinction between them.

Which Silverstone? the demo inside the expo had three sizes small, medium, and large lol.

Well I was about a second off from the top guys, I am just glad I showed up a day before those guys, put in a good time and earn an e3 pass. I found out that it is worth like a 1000 bucks!

I have to admit the demo GT6 is much better than the GT5. I am not sure if it was the quality of the tv, but the lighting, graphics, and smoothness of the game made me ask one of the guys if it was using the PS4.
