on the last chicane you can cut out the last part of the chicane by going in between the cones and grass, this is so annoying. The cheating going on in this years GT academy is shocking and don't give me "we all have the same rules bull crap" they need to cut the cheating out totally, if you touch the grass or any part of the track that isn't concrete or curb it should void the time.

I tried the legit way and had been posting some garbage times. I checked the leaderboard and DL the ghost, needless to say...

Relax. It's only the last challenge that you really need to worry about in GTA. All the others are nothing but practice.

Hopefully PD have made Motegi as cheat-proof as possible by watching the cheaters and adjusting the boundaries of the track accordingly. I've noticed they're placing more and more cones to prevent cutting, but you can't just place 100 cones at every corner to fix every problem.

Maybe they can use the Monaco GP track there will definitely be no cutting corners and one mistake could cost you everything

We want Motegi though..

Well I do anyway..

Yeah, let's hope so.

That's the reason why I prefer these sort of time attacks to be on a city course. On city tracks all they need to do for penalties is nullify the attempt if the walls have been touched.

And am I the only one to think that GT4 had an excellent restriction system (only in the licence tests. The special conditions rallying events penalties were hilariously bad :D)?

I did my time earlier on this afternoon and saved the leaders ghost,as I do on all the tests, and didnt see anything then.

I'll have to check this out later.
Theres players who'll do anything to post a quick time 👎

I just hope that PD will pay extra attention to every possible exploitable part of the last(8-5)test.

I have done the time trials and you disqualified if you hit the wall or go on the cross or hit a cone so I think it's fair maybe I am missing something?

Across the grass

press up...

Me too, these < 20 second challenges are getting quite boring. Is this the first one over a minute even?

Everyone wonders how the fastest guys in GTA do it. GTA 2012 has got me starting to believe that the fastest guys learned their driving skills by breaking down track mechanics in the same way that the GTA forces us to do with these challenges. Boring, maybe, but I would argue that it is these very challenges (and many more that you create on your own) that you need to practice and be committed to hundreds of times each if you have ambitions to be one of the fastest in this game. Your thoughts?

This competition should be on driving skill, not how many short cuts you can find. Just look at the first test where you gain extra speed from going on rumble strips, in real life that would slow you down loads. I just hope they do try and minimize the cheating in the final rounds

There's a marked improvement on PD's part when it comes to preventing cheating this year. It's disappointing that people are exploiting this (I haven't seen it yet, but I believe you guys :P) but at least its on an event that makes no difference in the grand scheme of things.

Something to remember: This competition is still one of driving skill. Even if a cut is available the fastest guys will EVENTUALLY do it because they know they have to to win. That's what happened in round 2 in last years US academy. Those cuts do take driving skill which means the fastest will still be the fastest. That being said, if anyone wants to maintain the "moral integrity" of the gt academy by not doing that cut there's nothing saying they're not faster than the guys in front of them. But they'll never know for sure unless they try it :/

Again it's very unfortunate but its a fact of life.

edit: woops saw it wrong :P just ignore my multiple edits

Also The 6-3 is a major cheat, watch ranked 1# there lol

Yeah I pick the guy ranked 6th and it's the same....👎

I did 16.039 clean... I don't even know how good it is for a clean run. What I should aim for??...

I was really hoping 6-5 was going to be a full lap of somewhere, anywhere :(

I was hoping abou that even from round 4 or 5. At least more than 3 corners (half a lap or more).
This short parts doesnt really show how could you be fast in longer distances.
Yes i was even hoping for some "Do 10 laps in a row without cheating - total time counted". To show who is the real driver.

I would like to see an endurance race that would sort everyone out

yeah, something like that. To show proper race speed on long run.

- Also hate 3 seconds counter before EVERY try, even if its some under 20 secs part.

3 second counter drives me crazy and i get fustrated after a while and puts me off

So does the ghost car you think you beaten your time and then get taken over in the last second

Yeah, sometimes i dont wanna do another tries all because of that.
But what is even worse, they did it right some time ago in GT2 Licences with only immediate "START". PD never stops disappointing me with their bizarre decisions and/or change in their mind.

This about sum's it up , couldnt have been said better.

Guys, does anyone know why the rankings arent working? It could just be my connection messing up by I just set the fastest lap for this part and its not uploading :(

It would be fun to watch ; having the final event rd 8 with a tuned GTR full lap time trial on sports hard, fuel/tire wear, rain, 100% water on track at Nurburgring 24H 21:00 and no traction control and ABS, I bet the corner cutters won't do good.
