GT game must make us aware of climate change and also driving safely.

I hope GT game will make us aware of climate change and also driving safe. I agree with having more electric cars and I hope there are biogas, hydrogen cars in the future in GT and also some message for all gamers to support environmentaly friendly cars.

And also endorsing proper driving techniques and safety. Seeing some safety tips or message or a track course on how to drive safely. Or safe racing maneuvers should be given as tip and training mode. GT or any games are great mediums to spread ideas to everyone and to influence a lot of people. I hope GT will be like that

Right, so shall we put up speed limits and speed cameras next? And why not just through in some speed bump's on the straight's.

Safety - yes.

Climate change - give it a rest. All we hear all day long is about climate change. I play GT to get away from stuff like that. Electric cars being included is because they will soon be a viable form of transportation, which is fair enough. But to suggest a computer game 'must' include stuff about climate change.... grow up, no one cares.

Personally, one of the first things I'm going to do when I start GT5 up is test out the new damage and driving/collision physics. Online NASCAR anyone?? I will go take a real life drivers-ed course if I want to learn about safe driving and defensive driving tips.

Well at least this will give us indicators and reverse lights.:indiff:💡

However, Yogaflame, GT is always track based. Not once have any races been illigal street races.

Other games make points about driving safely on the roads and I seem to remember previous GTs doing the same.

If you'd like realistic everyday driving game, you could try playing GTA4 abiding by the street rules.

As because its a screen, there isn't the best sense of speed, and I think that if you clutter the car lineup with too many green cars (a few are good for novelty) then GT will become boring as it will be moving more slow.

GT is about track times - not mpg. It always has, always will be.

When I drive in the traffic, I put my seatbelt on, I stop for red lights and I don't drive 2 feet behind other vehicles to get slipstream. I also don't rev up to the red marking when I change gear. I drive with quiet good economy.

When it comes to GT I usually do the opposite of the above. That's what I like about it.

They should also include a track for safety tips and also defensive driving skills. Even in racing there is a safe way to drive and techniques. Since GT is a very big game and well known by most gamers and even now gamers they can also help to endorse driving safely and also defensive techniques and proper racing moves.

As for concern for environment I like too see more next gen cars that dont use gas since this is our future, no more gas but environmental safe cars.

Okay no cares while your house in under 20 feet of water. Come on this game can be a medium to encourage to support cars that use alternative and clean source of energy by including them more

They have the Prius event where you have to drive a lap with good economy. I actually think the idea is a little bit weird. GT has always focused on what it's supposed to be and it hasn't changed much at all. You always have Sunday Cup and Licenses and the pursuit of the perfectly tuned car to give the driver a great experience. Maybe that's why it's still the best game ever. They took a small sidestep in GT4 with NOS but I don't think we will see that again.

I don't think driving a huge car with a huge engine for weeks in a game would get his house under 20 feet of water. As he pointed out he cares about that stuff in real life instead. Which is where it matters really.

What i mean is no one cares about climate change and the importance of advertising the need to save energy, alternative source of energy and stop using gas to much

Isn't the message behind advertising the need to save energy kind of... lost, on a video game?

Take this for example Shelby Supercars will reach an extraordinary 208mph. This car, which is due to go on sale before the end of the year, will sprint to 60mph in just 2.5 seconds. And it looks great.

Considered as the most powerfull and fastest electric car, According to Shelby, the powertrain developed for the Ultimate Aero EV uses a lithium ion battery pack, which can be fully charged from a 110 volt AC outlet in 10 minutes. This powertrain can be scaled from 200 up to 500 horsepower, with a special, dual-motor configuration that could produce 1,200 horsepower.

This is what i want too see more on GT, next gen cars that uses alternative source of energy and environmental safe and without using petroleum or gas but still performs very well and fast. This type cars should be shown more on GT, or people will be more aware about them and to support this type of cars to make this cars cheaper. GT is a powerfull tool to advertise next gen cars and safety.

You can still enjoy the speed and power from cars that does not use fossil fuel, just from this example from shelby. And i think there are more sports cars using alternative source of energy. Since Gt5 is for next year i hope to see more of them and also some tracks or modes about driving techniques and safety.

If I want to play a safety and economy game, I'll putt around in a Prius on the Seattle track.

Then again, I don't care. If all the sea ice melts, there's a chance the sea level will go down, and if the sea levels do go up hundreds of feet, I'm fine. in fact, I don't car about the coast, New Orleans should be glassed.

But, that's a whole other topic. I don't care about safety in a video game, and anyone going out and trying something they saw in a game gets what they deserve.

Are you from Greenpeace?
I don't care about climate because I live 120 meters above the sea level so, yeah, I vote for petrol.
Although it's nice to have cars that run on different sources of energy.
But you can't beat petrol.

NO NO and NO! what's next, their are going to exclude the Nurburgring because of pollution, or digging up bonneville to avoid petrolheads having their last bit of fun. why do we have to be bombarded with eco-propanganda each and every second, no proof have ever exsisted that actually concludes the reason for global warming, it's all just assumptions!:yuck:

I'm sure as soon as those sorts of cars start being the norm or average car you see, they will be included in the GT series, but as of right now in current times, gasoline is what most cars run on. The trend of the GT series seems to be having alot of its cars based on older/current models, and some brand new ones. PD doesn't really focus primarily on 'future' automobiles, thats just not GT's style. So until PD changes the direction of the GT series, we will see older, current, and a couple brand new/concept cars. Until the day we see the majority of cars being hybrids or run fully on electric power, we will see gas powered cars in GT.

Anyway I just rub the dust away from my sandles and go away for those who does not listen or don't give a **** about the environment or people who arew getting killed anyway going back to GT ,but still cars that uses alternative source of energy is future proof and much safer and economical.

Wow!

I hope it doesn't make us aware of the issues that I hear every day.
For me, playing car- and racing games is just about having fun with cars and go beyond limits with fuel use and not driving safe.

What is the purpose otherwise?

Look, this is a GT forum.
It's about a game. A RACING game.
Not about enviromental, human rights problems or any other kind of problems.
We go away from problems to play games, and I think no one here or on the planet (Earth, not GTP) gives a :mustn't swear: about recession in Iceland or any other of world's problems while playing GT or any other game.

Not that I'm against your attitude, as the matter of fact, I approve it, but this forum is not predicted for this discussions.

I see two major flaws with this.

A. If you read statistics, cars don't make the impact they are set up to by the media. If you want to stop global warming, go kill all the cows because their methane gas is contributing to 15% of all population IIRC. Also, electricity is not the way. In order for a car to be charged efficiently, plug electricity is used - and where does most of that electricity come from? Telling people to be green by giving them the salivating choice of either a Prius or a G-Wiz for the 24hr Nurburgring race is also hypocrytical because they are watching the electric television and not rubbing sticks together in a hut.

B. Encouraging people to to buy a Prius is pointless in GT. Most people in real life only have enough money for a Prius (most actually have less) and they are already well aware of green cars thanks to the media. Someone who doesn't know the makes and models of green cars aren't really the people to play the "boring, uneventful, difficult" GranTurismo. You really have to be certain of you target market before you try to save the planet with your game. NFS players may get more out of these community announcements than GT players.
If someone had enough for a Z06, do you really think that GT (and only GT) is going to have any impact when they rock up to their nearest dealership? No. Society will pressure them (take hollywood celebs) but no video game in the near future ever will. Only die hard greenies, people who want easy driving/parking, and a few others for few various reasons would go the Prius over the Z06 could they afford it.

Are you going to post the same thing on the GTA boards saying there is an increase in teen deaths because they are desensatised by the violence, and to be safe by not jumping off buildings, commiting crimes and running red lights?

Why do I play a video game? To escape reality and do things I'm unlikely to do in real life. Putting up warning signs when I jump off a building about teen suicide, or about .....I suppose, contaminating GT with too many green cars and safe messages absolutely blows.

I see where you are coming from with GT being a good medium, but perhaps there should be sub GT(like Tokyo Concept and the Prologues) called Green Turismo - because I for one would be angry if I can't powerslide my ZR1 round the track because of real life problems in the FULL GT5.

The defensive driving - that is already covered almost in the licences. But then I think - when I GT will I ever need to slam on the breaks because a deer has run into the middle of the track?

Well I guess we have it all now, including the "Politically Correct" GT5 thread.

See what kind of madness can ensue as a result of no GT5 for another 6, err 5mos.

Dude, seriously, If we as a civilisation are relying on a game to save our asses from global warming, then god help us all.

Maybe someday there will be no "real racing" and it'll be all virtual, actually thats probably a fact, unless the petrol companies stop bribing governments to turn a blind eye to proper fossil fuel alternatives, money talks and BS walks, as they say, and as for electric cars, they cause more harm to the environment to make than a normal car, so all your tree hugging prius owners are full of it.
