Well at 200mph+ you're not going to notice a lack of grip because even in a draft, the amount of downforce being produced is going to be pushing down on the car considerably.

The best way to test that theory is to drive a proper circuit and stay behind the AI. I think you will notice a considerable lack of grip.

I do. Try following a car in its slipstream into a corner, breaking at the same point you would while not following a car and tell me can easily follow the same line you would normally. If you notice no difference then try the same again but pull out of the slipstream before you brake.

I don't even notice the slipstream effect until I get up to speed. Taking corners the speeds just aren't high enough to get a slip. Maybe on a straight the speeds might build up but your going straight so how do you gauge that.

I guess the Highspeed Ring's corner 1 might be a good spot to check it out, but other then that, where do you get enough speed in a corner other then the test track?

UPDATE

After running a 20lap race at the HS Ring I crossed in and out of the slip and didn't notice a difference other then going faster, and maintaining the same grip at higher speeds...

Yup I think thats the best example... same example I used earlier when talking about GT5:P.... I guess its the same in GTPSP...

I was referring to doing this test into a braking zone. I think Fuij is probably the best track for it with the long straight and the heavy braking zone at the end of it. Try the same and see how you get on.

^Yes they do.

Keep in mind that you are travelling at a higher speed when you're in the slipstream, so the increase in braking distance may not be necessarily due to lack of DF, but just the effect of a higher initial speed. It would be great if you could somehow keep the speed constant in the two tests 👍.

I dip in and out of slip stream along the straight @ Fuji, (Its nice to see the S-Class car (AS I Let him stay in front of me) Tray to shake me off his slip stream. Doing this helped out in the testing, because he started to brake for the first corner while in the middle of the track (As apposed to the far left side) This allowed me to start braking out of the slip stream and cross over it to the inside of the corner.

Couldn't tell a difference at all, as if there is little to no difference.

I also have felt what it like to lose DF in the Slip in other games.

My opinion is any difference is negligible + or - .
