now lets see how agitated my team gets and next thing you know a war is going to break out....

as for those launches you guys do, i find them sorta sad. i mean you need your second gear to bog out a bit to do it... and also most people have no idea how to do it besides tds it seems. note that i said most, and im glad with help i figured it out, otherwise we would be sitting in the dark and your times would go on unmatched do to this style of launch. now all i can say, expect competition from us on the leaderboards for sure.

From what Karos saying its not only the bogging and qs 1,2,3. It's having a tune lets say on the ACR that's made to launch in 2nd but what retro got famous for was launching it from 1st at low rpm's and qs to 2nd then to 3rd if your tranny is set that way. So that drops the 0-60 time n so fourth..
Do I consider it a trick no. It's a skill or a talant or something you can do better then the other racers. SSRX test track I think is made to test your car to the limit! Doesn't matter how you do it. And if something wants to be settled its taken to Indy which is somewhat pointless if its gona be a serious race. A lot off ppl around the world got lag going on. So better connection has an advantage.
Lets just have fun guys! Push the cars till they explode!
Sorry for quoting your comment KT I just wanted to let you know my opinion since you think it's sad. I think standard cars are sad in GT5. I think it's sad the Cadillac CTS V isn't in the game ( I love that car! ).
I'm not trying to start a fight just agreeing with hostility that just cuz other can do a launch majority cant, is sad to be voted as a trick when really it's not.
And if anyone wants to have some runs feel free to add me, finally got my own PSN.

The acr is not made to launch in second it can be launched in any gear with a good tune. A few of my cars are 1st to 3rd qs so wats the problem

Ya I agree with you. I know a few guys that have 3 tunes on there ACR all made for the 1/4. I have no problem but alot of racers are against launching it in first since they refer it as retro launching.

No there is a differance between a 1st to 3rd qs and a retro launch
 
*I'll step out of the shadows & say that there are guidelines against retro launching in this particular leaderboard for particular reasons....No use complaining about it or trying to maneuver around it with technicalities. This conversation has been had NUMEROUS times before and the result has not changed. We should all know what retro launching is and if not, the definition is NOT hard to find in the drag forum......happy tuning 👍

So retro launching is quick shifting 1st 2nd and 3rd gear. That's bs. I do it all the time. I don't think it's cheating.

To launch like this, you need to do a times launch so when it does 321 go you shift into 2nd when 1 goes away WITHOUT bogging!

1-2-3 qs
1st gear needs to be full left, 2nd 25-30% left 3rd 45-50%

Times launch as normal

I dont know how to retro but I know people who can and there is a big differance between retro and a quick shift. I quick shift my viper gts 02 thats runs 9.135 when a friend retros it runs 9.126 but u cant retro online because it dont work.

So if people are gonna accuse others of this every time because they too dumb and cant tune/ dont know how to tune a quick shift and will start arugements every time then I say just scrap this leaderboard and nobody post times (problem solved)

Finally someone that undestands it. For retro Youn need 1st and 2nd all way left. You instashift 1st into 2nd, sometimes even get your 3rd into it. There are tunes that can be done to maximize the retro launch and will never work on indy. But cannot use them here, thats a debate for the other site.

1-2-3 qs is done just as dreamo described. I have no idea why you have such a negative attitude among the new things, or innovational changes done to this. There is NO restriction in the rules for the 1-2-3 qs. It doesn't bog. It can be done at Indy. EVERYONE can do this, does not need a wheel or anything other than his/her brain to do it. But why do something that makes you faster on a leaderboard and works on indy. We'd rather **** all over it and ban it huh? Can't beat em, there's only one person to blame: YOU.
