GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

There was a large discussion on it during the last Spa 24h, Emil Frey want to build one and race it, but Jaguar want to focus on Formula E,
Did Jaguar help at all with the current cars?
If not, Emil Frey have two choices: A. Go it alone; or
B. Move on to another manufacturer that wants to work with them.

They can't wheel out the same cars year after year, expecting to remain competitive, without some very clever updates.

I think they also do a Lexus GT3. That car races in a different series.
If it's a love for the brand that keeps them pressing on, I don't know. Out of loyalty, we've seen teams want to race specific marques, with no factory support. Winds up not being the best route due to costs.

Cool.

Edit: Look who else is pretty in pink.

I believe the current cars are former Jaguar GT2 race cars running in Blancpain under Belgiums G8 rules, though I may be corrected on that,

They are original builds. When Emil Frey was looking to develop the XK, they had considered the old RSR XK GT2's and APEX XK GT3's and both were so out of date that it was just better to start from scratch.

Of course this presented a rather large problem. Jaguar didn’t have a GT racing car available.

Fredy Barth picked up the story. “Apex had a car available, but it was old. We also looked at Gentilozzi’s GTE car. We decided they were both too much of an unknown so we decided to start from the beginning and build up this incredible project.”

Apparently, Liam Talbot won the final GT race at Albert Park today? Would have been nice if either Channel Ten or Foxtel bothered to televise any of the GT races this weekend...

Ten did show Friday and Saturday races, but no Thursday coverage at all and the Sunday race wasn't shown. Which is weird because Carrera Cup was shown...

Far be it for me to defend Ten but, they did show today's Supercar race.
It started at 1:10pm & I watched it from my lounge room.

Well, that explains it. I tried to avoid Ten's coverage as much as possible. Too much cross promotion.
:lol: Same here! I only crossed over for GT's and Carrera Cup. I was surprised in Sunday sitting and waiting for the GT's only to see the result pop up in my fb newsfeed. Oh well, there's always next round 👍

I didn't catch any Australian GT on Ten or One, I was expecting it as well, may have been something to do with the time difference between Adelaide and Melbourne, but I doubt it, even so, the coverage of Carrera Cup was pathetic! Supposed to be filled with up and coming talent and all they did was waffle on about Heimgartner and McConville's failed V8 careers and some guy from Germany who's driven the Nordschleife,

I've always believed we as viewers tune into a telecast of motor racing to watch motor racing.
Unfortunately, the broadcaster thinks we're interested in talking heads.
I'm happy to watch a technical piece that explains something interesting but other than the races, the rest is as boring as bat:censored:

Agreed, I couldn't believe they were interviewing some Z- celebrities who I've never seen nor heard of, which is bad considering 80% of my income is based on the gossip magazines, its like seeing toilet paper adverts on FTA television, its not required! Who isn't buying that????
