Lucas Luhr in a JRM Nissan? That's... interesting.
He's been there all season and he's been very quick too. In fact, the entire #23 crew has been quick, but the problem is that the Nissans have 15-20 second longer pit stops than the other cars. Take Paul Ricard for example, the #23 spent 3minutes 30seconds in the pits for their 2 stops, compared to 2:51 for the Hexis McLaren and 2:52 for the winning #3 Marc VDS BMW. It's not an isolated thing either, this has been the problem for all Nissans all year and it's frankly silly.
Not many Audi factory drivers there... What happened to Rockenfeller? Is he doing only DTM this year?
Rocky drove for Phoenix at the Nurburgring 24 hours, in addition to racing for Phoenix in DTM.

There's only one extra Pro Audi at Spa, so there's only 3 extra seats available, and those went to Lotterer, Fassler and Ekstrom. We can only speculate why, maybe Phoenix objected to him racing against their own cars or maybe Rocky didn't want to do it, who knows.

The GT3 Bentley will do BES next season.

Any drivers yet?

Nothing official. But they will probably run the Abu Dhabi 12hrs, with a certain Sebastian Ogier as one of the drivers.

Info about the car, from Endurance-Info.com (google translated from French):
While Bentley has today Goodwood dynamically Bentley Continental GT3 which will mark the end of the year the return of the firm Crewe on systems, the manufacturer has released few details so far on the GT3.

Rolf Frech, Member of the Technical Board of Bentley: "The Continental GT3 exploits the incredible performance that lie under the skin of each Continental GT. We reduced the weight of about 1000 kg, reconfigured our 4 liter V8 developing 600 horses to race specification, and we have developed a consistent aerodynamic package to be sure to be competitive. We look forward now to put the car on the track and demonstrate its potential. "

Continental GT3 is powered by a race dry sump V8 Version 4 liter twin turbo, many elements of the unit fitted to the standard Continental GT has been preserved. Power is transmitted by a shaft carbon fiber connected to a transmission X-Trac six pneumatic paddle-shift sequential reports, the differential is mounted transversely to an optimized distribution of weight.

Aero: the rear spoiler in the upper position is carbon fiber, before the splitter is carbon fiber. The hood, fenders, wings were also reviewed and corrected to improve the drag coefficient and help cool the engine.

Easing the car was a major concern. Continental GT3 is obviously devoid of wood and leather instead of the Continental GT base. The GT3 accused under 1300 kg, all this does not prevent them from seeing the craft tab Bentley in finishes.

The design of the Continental GT3 was the work of Bentley Motors engineers with the help of technical partner M-Sport Ltd for special facilities that were created in Crewe.

Continental GT3 now begins its development program on track, with the objective of optimizing the performance of the car based on simulations. Once the registration of the car passed by the FIA, the car will make its first races, races contributing to its development before full engagement in the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2014.

From today until Sunday, Guy Smith, winner at Le Mans in 2003 with the Bentley Speed 8 will drive the Continental GT3 twice daily as part of the Festival of Speed.

More updates for the Bathurst 12H http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/08/08/demand-forces-bathurst-12-hour-entry-freez/

Bathurst 12 Hour organisers have temporarily ceased taking entries for the 2014 event after an unprecedented level of early competitor interest.

A total of 44 cars have entered prior to the race’s ‘early bird’ entry fee discount offer expiring on August 1, seven more than at this time last year.

The current field includes 16 Class A GT3 cars, split between nine Australian and seven international outfits.

The visitors include event returnees AF Corse (Ferrari), Clearwater Racing (Ferrari) and United Autosports (Audi and McLaren), as well as newcomers Nissan Motorsports, Absolute Racing (Audi) and Haribo Racing (Audi).

Fears that other overseas squads who have expressed interest but not yet formally lodged an entry could be locked out of the race if it reaches its 55 car limit have been the main driver behind the temporary freeze.

Squads in such a position are said to include previous participants Phoenix Racing (Audi) and Black Falcon (Mercedes).

“We have a number of international teams liaising with our freight partner on the entry freight packages which, by virtue of their design, are not linked to the 31 July entry offer,” event director James O’Brien told Speedcafe.com, adding that there are also local invitational class entries currently being assessed for eligibility.

“Obviously there are teams there intending to enter that are in the process of going through those logistical discussions and we don’t want to disadvantage them by shutting them out with a full grid.”

Race organisers are working directly with Gibson Freight on its international entry logistics this year after parting ways with the Dutch-based Creventic organisation that had previously filled the role.

No strict class quota targets have been put in place, contributing to the desire to freeze all entries.

“We’ve got six classes at the moment and we want to make sure we’ve got the right balance across the field,” added O’Brien.

“After we take a brief pause we may just resume (taking entries) freely, or we might reserve some spots in certain classes.”

O’Brien warned that, although the track density for the circuit sits at 72 cars, the event’s self-imposed 55 car limit will unlikely be lifted, citing a strong desire to avoid traffic congestion across the top of the Mountain.

A total of 13 production cars are on the current entry list, including a two-car Fiat 500 effort from the Fiat Chrysler Group.

The slower entries will face an increased challenge to qualify within 130 percent of the pole time next year after the removal of the previous 2:06.0s benchmark time.

The 2014 Bathurst 12 Hour will be held across the February 7-9 weekend.

Me neither but I guess it is more of a time for gaining experience as a manager in motorsport. See how they go, I guess.

Should be fully unveiled sometime this week.

Does anyone know if there is a live stream for the Sepang 12 hours race today as i can't find one and the Nissan Acedamy Athletes are competing in this race thank you.

Alright I'm not going to come on here and rant about not being able to watch FIA GT1 or Blancpain Endurance Series races in the U.S. Or at least not easily.

I'm just here to ask if anyone knows of any websites where I can watch races after they've broadcasted. Here in California I have to wake up at 3am to watch races, which I stream using illicit means since the FIA Youtube channel blacklists us.

For DTM and ALMS I can watch races whenever I'd like if the live broadcast doesn't work with my schedule. I want to do the same for Blancpain.

Whoever wins between these two in the Pro Cup will win the championship, and they're 1-2 hounding each other with 45 minutes to go.

Amazing fight between Buhk and Martin.. BMW vs Mercedes :D

It's been on for almost half an hour already!

EDIT: Gaaaah! Noooo!

At this point the GT Academy car will be neck and neck with the #71 in the tie-breakers and will have to go to a count-back on finishing positions.

It was a great race and an amazing battle! I'm a BMW MarcVDS fan so yeah, bit of a shame that they didn't make it but at least they put on such a great fight until the end. Congratulations to the Merc, they definitely deserve it.

HTP and Max Buhk are too good. Congrats to both. :)

Lovely season in the books once again, long wait for Monza now unfortunately. Hopefully Marc VDS can find a way to stay in the series, it would be a big loss if they don't come back. :(
