I'm actually considering bringing back some small real money racing like we used to do.

5,10,25&50cent races with dollar championships.
Maybe I'll post an interest thread and start working a schedule this weekend.

Tonight I'll be opening the Geezer Early Bird room at 7:30 ET ish + :) Geezers under age will be welcome. Be prepared with the following motors....

Thanks for the advance information on cars. My new livery takes me FOREVER to set up (I'm a geezer after all!) so this is useful. As it turns out I cannot make it tonight - family gathering. So I will set my alarm for 6am Saturday ....

:headbang:

I have searched and failed to find an easier solution to my wheel/headset/party setup. Here is a complete explanation:
  • I plug my wheel into the first PS4 USB port, and log this into my PSN Plus id (josborn27)
  • my wheel has no headset jack so I plug my PS4 controller into the second USB port and my headset into the the controller headset port
  • the system then ask me to log the controller into the system. I select the same id as wheel but this is not allowed; I then select 'guest' but 'guest' cannot be friends with the Geezers so I cannot enter the party room; I then select my 2nd PSN userid (josborn27mic) and this works - except I have to get my Geezers to friend my 2nd id.
This works, but is there an easier solution? I will post this question elsewhere as well. Have fun racing tonight.

Here is what I do.
PS4 is OFF
I Press the PS button on my controller
PS4 comes alive
Then it ask me to press the X button on the controller.
Now I am logged in my PS4 and on PSN with the controller active.
Then I press the PS button on my wheel (T150)
Then it ask me to press the X button on the wheel
At this point I have the controller and the wheel connected in PS4, I can use anyone I want even at the same time.
Then I plug my headset on the controller using the P2 jack
The PS4 tells me that all the sound will be redirected to the headset
I am ready to go. (one psn id)

You guys really need to get a 40-60 club going.
I'm 41 and would like to run.
Tonight the room is open to all "geezer minded"....you are welcome.
There are a few rules for non geezers. If the party or the room are full, real geezers have preference.

You can do the other way around. Plug the wheel with the id *mic and the controller with the id you use to play. But I still think you dont need to do all that. ;)

Hi John,
Do you have a USB plug on your headset? If so it doesn't work to plug the wheel into one USB and the headset into the other?

Hi Ossie,, as I read your post I'm assuming your headset does NOT have a USB connection? My set up I assume is as is many/most others, the wheel is plugged into the console at one USB - the headset occupies the 2nd USB. I do not use the controller while playing. If I want to use the controller for other functions than playing the game - perhaps in the livery editor - I unplug the wheel. In any event there's no need for any other ID than the one I use - "daduce1947" - I push the start button on the console to start the game, click the PS button when prompted then the "X" and I'm logged in under my [default] ID which is daduce1947. As do many other players, I have other PS ID's but to sign in using any of them require that I "sign out" of my "daduce1947" completely and resign in under the other ID. All others are registered via different email accounts. As far as I understand we can have only one ID per email address. After loggin in and still in the PS menu, typically I check the "All Friends" to see who on my friends list is online before starting the game. You can see if any of them are in a Party Chat by selecting a name. If you want to join and there's not a "Join" box just send them a message requesting to join from that PS menu - "Message".

When we're racing with the Geezers and since you're already a friend simply access the "Party chat" through the main PS menu, If you're already playing the game and want to join a Party chat - you do not need exit the game - just press the PS button, bring up that menu - scroll across to the headset icon, find our party and select JOIN - or - select a Geezer friend to join - OR - send a message asking to join the party. Now - I do need to remind Party Chat has space for only 8 players, so in the event one chat is full there may be a second with a Geezer hosting it. The Party Chat is on an entirely different server than the game. Hope this helps?? Looking forward to seeing you in the Geezers Saturday Races tomorrow bud :)

Thanks Luiz (and Pepper and Duce)! I believe this will work for me - I have not yet entered a party room to test this, but both wheel and controller (with headset attached) work without having to login to 2nd id. And yes to confirm, my headset does not have a USB connection, only a headphone jack. I had thought of getting a headphone -> USB port adapter, but will try Luiz's approach first.

Now to focus on trying to keep up with you Geezers!
See you in the morning.

Sardenha madness.

Thanks much Luiz! It was a fun race but more than that it was a chance for us to learn just how nicely the truck drove. IMHO of all the 4WD rigs the Ford Raptor (set up as it was by Eric for our Sunday race) handles the very best,, hands down, the best. For the most part it goes where you intend to go, it handles corners very well and it slows very quickly - something not one of the other off road race cars do that I have driven. My vote as the #1 off road vehicle in GTS - the Ford Raptor. Thanks to Eric for providing a fun set up and for hosting those races!!

Remember this? F1’s greatest opening lap ever? I tend to agree!

Thanks Eric, Yes, that lap was epic and Senna was by far the very best wet driver in F1 history. So sad we lost him. Who knows how far his career would have taken him in the running for the very best overall F1 driver - ever. With so many factors determining who was/is the #1 best making a choice would be a challenge but Hamilton is charging toward the front. Will he overtake Shumacher?

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018 to all Geezers & their families !!

May the new year bring good health, happiness, prosperity & FUN Racing !!

Happy 2018 fellow Geezers,

Guys, I stumbled upon this very interesting and informative film about F1 you may like as much as did I. Unless you're an F1 fan the hour and a half may not be a worthwhile waste of time, but discovering different perspectives of F1 history and present day ambiance I do find a fun way to waste a few hours. This film is one of those I want to share. Next Wednesday or Saturday perhaps we can talk of what you found interesting.
