I'll see him in Cologne tonight. :cheers:
We're envious,, we know you will enjoy the concert. Since the passing of Chet Atkins, IMHO Mark is the finest guitarist for his style of playing alive on this planet today. Yes, there are literally hundreds of outstanding guitarists all over the world, playing every genre there is but still, Mark Knopfler is amazing, and he still writes music.

Well Cal, you are the first to pick for Sunday.
Please post your choice of cars, what if any boost and draft,and what track and car we start with.

By Friday would be good, time enough to buy/ paint/ practice

We don't race boost on Sundays JR, unless only a few of us racing. We can have a vote on boost again and try overturning the last result. Sounds like Brexit! :lol: I would still vote for no boost as it makes the racing a bit more realistic and we have had some great races like that.

What other tweaks could we do? Just being one day earlier with the first car and track combo is not really that much of a tweak. We could lengthen the races maybe and put some tyre wear on? Any other thoughts chaps?

What are your thoughts JR behind the host not choosing the cars anymore?

PM sent JR

Hi there,

This is exactly what I was looking for. I bought my first ever PS4 last week and am already addicted to GT Sport.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Gerard, I live in Vleuten, Holland. My age is 68. IRL I drive a Nissan Note :).
Not one of my friends are interested in Gaming, so that leaves me all alone in this virtual world.
Some practises of this game are pretty straightforward, others seem a bit confusing. When I start PS4, it says my name is “g geradts”, however if I do a race and look at the results my name then is “g2g1950”.
I will start by sending Friend Request to GZR_Geezer1791, after first finding out how to do that.
I would like to receive and gladly accept Friend Requests from members of this forum.

Groetjes, Gerard

I protest - no rest for you, but if you must so be it. By the way, I'll not be able to race this weekend - planned commitment.

P Mallard
I join with Pepper's Protest, I don't see why you should rest !
About Races : we do car racing and we can t be imaginatives. The main parameters are type of cars, duration of race and consumption Yes or not. The aids are an accessory to be decided by majority. I prefere no boost and also 10 laps races could be interesting, with gas and tires that lost 5/6 laps.like mounths ago. But I enjoy competing in any way ! You decide, I willingly do without it ! :cheers:

A different choice I have read on this forum could offer something different.
Propose 4 different cars for the same race and one chooses what he wants. I read that, for example, the Citroen DS3 Racing 2011, the Peugeot 208 GTI 2014, the Clio RS 2016 and the Wolks Gti Golf 2014, have similar performance with 100% power and weight and sports tires.
Sure the job to find cars with equivalent performance would be exaggerated!

Geezers and Friends. Dodge night! (Al has been sitting behind his wheel all week for this) Gr. X Tomahawk, Gr3 Viper SRT GT3-R ‘15, Gr4 Viper, N700 Charger SRT HELLCAT’15. Start at Bluemoon infield B x 5 laps in the Hellcat. Lobby opens 6:30 central. Race starts at 7:00. Be in your cars and not at the bars!! Special X and Bluemoon finale. BOOST WEAK, RM. No tune. ( except Al singing for joy) Later ladies...

Guys, I am going to try something different on Sunday. For me it's all getting a little stale with the same thing I do every week. What I am thinking is this:

First race will be at Saint Croix B in the GR1 Mazda 787b for 7 laps. Tyre wear will be on 18 (ish, once I have worked it out). We each will have a choice of tyres, hard, medium or soft. Next race will be reverse grid at the same track and settings.

We then move on to Barcelona in the GR4 Ferrari 458. Same choice of tyres, and for12 laps (? laps to be worked out) then reverse grid for next race.

After that we race some quick 3 or 4 lap races with the car choice (open) and track (shortish) combo being chosen by the 4th placed finisher in previous race. No tyre wear.

What do you guys think?

If this is not a good idea feel free to say so, I will not be offended. :)

Sounds good with one exception, how's about we break the "stale" thing and go with a different Gr1 than the Mazda's, something with a V in the engine config for a change?

Saturday Geezer Races
8:30 AM ET (first race 9:06)

Cars:
GrX - F1 W08 EQ POWER '17 (PS1)
GRX - DALARA SF19 '19 (Honda or Toyota)
N500 - Atenza Gr3 Road Car ( available in mile exchange)
Racing Kart 125 Shifter

Cars will be set by its original power and weight (individually)
After each race, 4th place decides the combo for next race (car and track) if the racer is in chat, if not I'll move to the next in chat.

Tires:
Gr.X F1 W08 -> RS
Gr.X DALARA -> RM
N500 -> RH
Kart -> SS

Race will be set by time (10 to 15 min depending on the length of the track)
Grid (Based on last race results, first is first)
Boost = weak
Slipstream = weak
Tire will be set @ 25x for all cars
No fuel consumption

Early Bird - Tsukuba + Kart
First Combo - Interlagos + Dalara

Final race @ Blue Moon (people in lobby decides what to do)

See ya there!

PS1 - For the F1 W08 Tuning will be open. The purists can run it stock.
PS2 - There will be no time for tuning between races, i suggest to do it before race day (like, today) we will try to keep time between races to a minimum.
PS3 - If we have 8 or more in the lobby by 8:45 we will start a Early Bird race to set the grid for the first race
PS4 - Lobby is friends only, if you are a Geezer (+60 yrs) and would like to participate, send a FR to PSN: acenbrone.
