See there is no PERFECT circle in all the highly praised graphical games aswell.

Adaptive Tessellation
"Adaptive tessellation is next generation technology in terms of 3D model rendering. Tessellation involves dividing a polygon into multiple geometric tiles, and in adaptive tessellation, the polygons will automatically divide and become finer according to the viewing distance and position. This makes it possible to maintain the quality of the renders very high whether you are close or far from your viewing object".

There are some time where the tesselation does not "kick in"

for example....

This is from a race a couple of hours ago, he was coming right at me!:

I had saw him hit another car behind me at druids earlier in the race for no particular reason then he was within the danger zone to my rear bumper, if I hadn't dodged out the braking zone like that he would've taken me out the race.

Edit: I just noticed that I looked behind A LOT in this video, my bad!

That was just awesome. Must feel good to see him charge into that gravel trap and you just driving off as if nothing happened. :D

Never seen anything like that in the beta

Rounded edges are a strong point of GT from GT6

It does happen well in GT6 and GT sport cause that is mostly the adaptive tesselation failing to correspond with the demand of polygons automatically dividing and becoming finer/smoother according to the viewing distance and position. But otherwise it looks just like the pictures you posted above. Could be a LOD bug aswell who knows.

its like that only in photo mode in gt6

That's simply a lower LOD model. Games swap models to low-poly versions in the distance, for performance reasons.
EVERY modern racing game does this and sometimes there's a bug, where the game loads the wrong LOD model.
If you want to see the tessellation working in GT6, pick a car like the Ferrari Dino, go into the replay photomode and zoom in from a slight distance. You'll see the tessellation smoothing out the edges. That's actually really impressive for the PS3.

EDIT:

GTSport utilizes the same tech.

Some more videos. Nice race yesterday at Blue Moon Bay. Was a really close one for the first 8 laps. I was faster but other guy could keep up by staying in my slipstream. Overtaking a backmarker eventually costed him more time so that gave me the win pretty much.

And today at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Unfortunately wasn't fast enough with the tune I was using to keep up with the top 3. Got a bit closer in the end again though. Will probably be a bit faster tomorrow, hope to race them again. :)

thats friggin weird dude

@Firehuntah Here's the race from my POV, was a really close 3-way battle up front, went right down to the last corner, definitely worth a watch. :)

nice and solid overtake @3:24. That split second thinking and turning to the right. 👍
And I recognize the long straight you want to avoid others to benefit from the slipstream but you can't
At the end the most aggressive driver gets what he deserves the 3rd place :nervous:

Great race!

Thanks, I surprised myself at how well I timed it, if I'd accelerated a bit earlier/later I would have either ran into the back of him or not had the speed to get past.

Yeh, Pedro had just lost the previous race down that back straight by being in front which is why he backed off, and I had not choice but to go for it as Paul was coming up behind. Luckily I managed to stay just far enough ahead to defend into the corner at the top of the hill, I wasn't too impressed with Pedro's moves at the last few corners either! Not the first time he's done it and it's just as well he couldn't hear me as I wasn't too polite about it. But as you said he ended up losing a place because of it so his loss I guess.

Managed to get ahead of Ti-tech85 while preparing for the first B race.

Below is third race I did which is my smallest margin of victory at that combo IIRC. Took a while for race to start.
