How do you know? All you can see in the picture is that the tessellation dropped a notch in this particular situation. It could be because:

1. They reduced it to improve something else, such as frame rate. Is it then a downgrade or is it a balancing? It's the latter, since frame rate is also a part of graphics.

2. They didn't reduce it, but they increased something else and the adaptive tessellation kicks in and adjusts to the new situation.

3. They didn't change anything, these pictures were just taken at one situation where the scene was less busy and one situation where the scene was more busy.

4. They reduced the tessellation to make room for more cars, or better audio, or to gain something else that is not related to graphics.

In case 1 and 2 you have to evaluate the sum of the changes before you can say whether it's an upgrade, downgrade or status quo (for example: "tessellation was reduced a little, but the frame rate improved and overall that gives a slightly better impression, so I consider it a graphics upgrade").

In case 2 and 3 it wasn't even they who reduced the tessellation, but the system did it on its own.

In case 3 nothing had changed at all.

Only in the fourth case can you tell from the picture that it's a graphics downgrade.

Why not show the full picture instead of a ridiculously small portion that could be snipped from totally different circumstances. How can you expect anyone to judge from that?

And what does that video show, in your opinion?
I don't look too closely at graphical issues, mainly because once I see them I can't unsee them, but I couldn't help but notice the shadows were popping in pretty badly at various points in both videos. It can clearly be seen here:

Also, if you pause at 2:55 and look at the grass on the hillside to the right you can see there is far less detail there in v1.06. This picture is crappy but it if you pause the video while playing at 1080/60 it's easy to see:

This is an an analysis of my best lap from the previous running of N300s at Big Willow where I ran a 1:30.2. The tune is at the end.

With so many things getting better, is amazing how some people rather look at the little things that may got worse.:boggled:

And the interiors now looks so freaking good, i almost felt the leather in my hands at the Lotus picture, the best interiors in games ever!!(really, i'm not joking!:lol:).

Now a proper hand animation to match it...

Do you really expect me to try and find where you pulled those comparison pictures from in that video????:banghead:

As 1.06 brought rolling starts, we really need them activated now, especially in Gr4.

Qualified my Scirocco on pole for these 3 races, and got mugged, battered, and bruised on every start.

That's quite bad indeed. :indiff: You're in luck though, tomorrow on all 3 of the tracks we get rolling starts. So that should be a lot more fun with RWD and FWD cars.

At least I got to use my hazard flashers! Started with them on but it didn't seem to make any difference.

That is good news.:mischievous:
I also did some races with the VW gr.4 today and had the same experience David had.
Hoped to get in the same race with him because I was only one tenth faster but ended up in an Aliengroup in the back.
Started around 11/13 place but ended both times last after the first tight corner.

its not edited i just stopped the video randomly and took a screenshots xD
So these images below are not edited? May I remind you that cropping is considered editing and that lying and deliberately misleading is against the AUP.

they downgraded graphics

So I again ask, can you please show the full unedited screenshot, as it appears to me that these images are not from the same shot and are therefore useless for making any comparison due to the fact they are from different circumstances.
