I don't know which one is the most true to life but the sound in GT is so "muffled", toned-down. That's my main concern about sounds in modern GTs, they convey no adrenaline IMO.
Like them or not, one has to admit that the sounds in PCars really get you pumped! You know you're in a race car in Project Cars.

How do you know? All you can see in the picture is that the tessellation dropped a notch in this particular situation. It could be because:

1. They reduced it to improve something else, such as frame rate. Is it then a downgrade or is it a balancing? It's the latter, since frame rate is also a part of graphics.

2. They didn't reduce it, but they increased something else and the adaptive tessellation kicks in and adjusts to the new situation.

3. They didn't change anything, these pictures were just taken at one situation where the scene was less busy and one situation where the scene was more busy.

4. They reduced the tessellation to make room for more cars, or better audio, or to gain something else that is not related to graphics.

In case 1 and 2 you have to evaluate the sum of the changes before you can say whether it's an upgrade, downgrade or status quo (for example: "tessellation was reduced a little, but the frame rate improved and overall that gives a slightly better impression, so I consider it a graphics upgrade").

In case 2 and 3 it wasn't even they who reduced the tessellation, but the system did it on its own.

In case 3 nothing had changed at all.

Only in the fourth case can you tell from the picture that it's a graphics downgrade.

Is anyone else feeling an impact for replay fps in regular ps4 after update? Seems harder to follow the nuances of the movement due to a bit erratic framerate.. Even though its just one car in qualifying. How is this going to work with 16 cars.. :odd::confused:

What happened to the Shell branding? :/
It got replaced with MAC Tools branding.

And by the way, as some already pointed out, I also feel that the cars behave differently during the daily races. A quick example: During the quali time trail, I can constantly do 1:23's in the Genenis Gr.3. However, in the race I can barely get into the low 1:24's. The car understeers way more and is a tad bit more unstable.
